@Hakase I've since moved to discord. In a computer hardware server, though most of my time there is spent running a server themed around automating the Pokemon games.

@Hakase Haven't really looked much through that post in detail, but I agree with most of what was said. But really, the nail in coffin is that SE as a whole as gone down a path that I no longer feel welcome to participate in. Thus I've more or less quit all the sites and moved on. Which is why I took so long to see your ping. :(

That's correct. When you share a den, the pokemon "duplicates" at the end and everybody can catch it. But if you (the host) catches it, it disappears.

People also seem to sell invites into dens to people outside the society for pretty high prices.

You can catch it yourself since that will deactivate it. So you need someone else to catch it for you and trade it back. Or you have a 2nd switch. But the fact is that once you have a shiny den, you can get infinite shines out of it. Each den has its own set of pokemon and you can only have one den at a time per game. In the secret societies, you then share the den with people with different dens so everybody gets all the shinies from all the dens.

Depending on the situation, you can also change the pokemon it is. So you can get shinies of different pokemon.

You can keep resharing it many times as long as you don't save afterwards.

A den that has a shiny in it.

OTOH, in the public forums. Everybody is literally endlessly begging for shinies and entry into shiny dens.

@Memor-X It took many hours, but I managed to RNG exploit a shiny den. So I started sharing it with people and manually approaching other people shiny dens for invite exchanges. After a few hours of that, I got invited into a secret underground discord group where everybody has a shiny den and is endlessly hosting shiny raids. Basically unlimited shinies. It's ridiculous.

But of course nobody wants a male Gardevoir.

Either gender can evolve into Gardevoir. Only males can become Gallade - using a stone.

Oh and yes. I evolved one of my Ralts.

The Golurk is also a square shiny. Which is 1-in-16 among den shinies.

I assume that's where the red Gyarados on the right came from.

There's also a shiny Magikarp event going on now where Magikarp is everywhere and has a high chance of being shiny. Caught one so far.

So rather than 1-in-4096 raids being shiny. It's more like 1-in-20.

But people seem to be willing to share them.

no, they're the same. But they're full odds rare. 1-4096.

I've been in raids where there was another player with a shiny. But I've never been in one where two other players are shiny - let alone the raid pokemon itself.

Except Eternatus which cannot be shiny.

Random raid open to the public. Didn't have to pay my way in or go through secret channels.

It matters more to have the right zero-IVs where you need them since you can only increase them to 31, you can't decrease them to zero.

Bottle Caps and Mints can only be bought with BP. Though there's an easier way to get the former in quantity. So perfect IVs aren't as important anymore.

Still expensive. But there's an exploit that makes money plentiful.

No. Bottle Caps to fix imperfect IVs. And Mints to change nature.

Most aren't usable as-is without expensive items. But they're fine for breeding.

No. The Ralts family is only mildly competitive this generation. But I've gotten a ton of near-perfect competitives from the surprise trades.

Other people are doing the same thing. So I've gotten 5 IV competitives in return. (got a perfect 6 IV from a Japanese player today)

Not that I'm gonna use more than 1 of them though.

The odds are 1-in-512. I've hit 4 in ~3000 so that's over the odds by a bit. But I'm not complaining since they all have the hidden ability which only has a 60% of passing down to the baby.

I've left 3 of them untouched and started training 1 of them. But I won't evolve it until I get maybe a 5th or 6th.

But I still don't have a shiny Gardevoir because seriously... I'm supposed to evolve one of these cute things?

All 4 of the shinies can be made into competitive Gardevoir or Gallade with the right items to override their missing IVs.
