Could someone update this question for me?

https://boardgames.stackexchange.com/questions/5743/what-happens-when-a-commander-is-exiled/5745?noredirect=1#comment85067_5745

Most recent comment by user3490 is correct, meaning this answer is outdated, but I don't have the up-to-the-minute MTG rules experience to do a good job updating.

I really wish we could just cut it out of the loop (especially now that Scryfall hosts new-card previews).
Aug 7, 2019 22:38
That's the problem, innit? Gatherer itself is kinda flaky and so there's no way to de-flakify our usage of the API.
Aug 7, 2019 22:36
@murgatroid99 Thanks!

Can someone who knows the autocard quirks tell me why Cryptic Command and Serra Angel don't work in this answer? (Or just edit in a fix) boardgames.stackexchange.com/a/48133/1910

So all the moves/playbooks are different but it says to use AW2e for the commentary and features that are missing.
Jan 20, 2021 16:27
@KorvinStarmast It's a new version / hack that's currently published as a supplement instead of a stand-alone. Started out as a Patreon thing but now it's just a normal book on Drivethru &c. lumpley.games/burnedover
Jan 20, 2021 16:26
"that i actually have," yes
Jan 20, 2021 16:23
Just popped in to say I'm gently, slowly seeding 'Apocalypse World: Burned Over' questions (that I actually have) so we can have an 'Apocalypse World: Burned Over' tag.

Hi folks – small request. There's some serious Link Rot in this question's answers. rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/654/…
Sep 22, 2019 23:52
@Carcer Thank you so much for the "link rot" edit!
Aug 8, 2018 16:56
Hi folks. Just dropping in to say that this site's Lines and Veils discussion is apparently cited as "further reading" for considerate play in Vampire 5th edition. How 'bout that?

Mar 17, 2017 16:48
Shrug. People kept showing up and wanting this stuff. Maybe that problem has solved itself somehow.
Mar 17, 2017 16:47
I mean, unless people just stopped asking for "how the heck do I design a game?" entirely.
Mar 17, 2017 16:47
@LegendaryDude Except you need something to fulfill this purpose and also Mxy slapped a bounty on it to get more answers, so, uh, that's not actually a solution.
Mar 17, 2017 16:45
So, err, please go fix it to make it work better for what the site needs. Bearing in mind that this thing (or something like it, maybe on Meta) need to exist to guide people to resources for problems we can't fix here.
Mar 17, 2017 16:44
And I'm not a super active user these days.

Hey, so, this question is owned by me but it's supposed to be, like, a community tool: rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/31460/…
Feb 12, 2017 20:47
oh no
Feb 12, 2017 20:44
What's up.
Feb 12, 2017 20:24
@Zachiel Hello.
Feb 12, 2017 05:29
Like, the current state of America is "waiting with bated breath to see if the judicial branch can actually make the executive do something."
Feb 12, 2017 05:28
There'll be plenty of time to turn the bus around before we're somehow living in a carceral-communist craphole. For the other side? Not so much.
Feb 12, 2017 05:28
I embrace a diversity of approaches in combating fascism and racism and I don't really care if the proverbial "Tumblr teens" have bad praxis.
Feb 12, 2017 05:20
I actually wouldn't be surprised, no. But also, this is an incredibly facile thing to say when the "harpies" on one end of that spectrum are very close to power right now.
Feb 12, 2017 05:16
@Shalvenay Err, I've followed like a hundred people involved in various levels of "social justice" work for about two years and I've never seen anyone get upset over an unconstitutional search being thrown out. Many are anti-carceral. Many more are anti-money-bail. Almost all have spoken out about abusive search practices by police (e.g. NY stop-and-frisk). So, respectfully, I don't know where the hell you got this stereotype.
Feb 12, 2017 04:10
(And, of course: thermal detonator.)
Feb 12, 2017 04:09
Like the smuggler gets to have a foolproof escape plan to get everyone else to safety. Or the Jedi Master is a Force ghost.
Feb 12, 2017 04:09
An interesting variant of the pbta "special" I saw was some Star Wars hack where your "special" was "when you die..."

Feb 12, 2017 04:07
Though that may not really communicate, like, how much Monsterhearts taps sexuality vs. how much AW does.
Feb 12, 2017 04:06
This is where the ability to download the character sheets and just see what's on there is a big help.
Feb 12, 2017 04:06
Ah, gotcha.
Feb 12, 2017 04:03
@BESW FWIW, the "special moves" in AW really are optional. They're there (and a few other things, like Impossible Reflexes and Arresting Skinner) so I can see how it might be a problem just in terms of distraction/mindshare, but the book emphasizes that nothing bad will happen if they never come up. And the author himself generally "fades to black."
Feb 12, 2017 04:00
@Axoren Part of a mod's job is to figure out when someone's just here to inch up to the line and discourage that, too.
Feb 12, 2017 03:57
"I'm queer"
Feb 12, 2017 03:57
But the "Q" in "LGBTQ" is an adjective. "Queer people."
Feb 12, 2017 03:56
A slur that has been partially reclaimed.
Feb 12, 2017 03:56
"Queer" as a noun is by itself basically a slur.
Feb 12, 2017 03:55
"What does a hypothetical version of this question that isn't a vehicle for bigotry look like?" is kind of a pointless game to play, imo.
Feb 12, 2017 03:52
It's not a point of view we need to bother to entertain.
Feb 12, 2017 03:47
Yeah.
Feb 12, 2017 03:47
"Queer ideology"
Jul 24, 2016 22:32
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Jul 24, 2016 22:32
@Shalvenay sup?
Jul 23, 2016 01:21
Here you go, folks. Meta post. meta.rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/6399/…
Jul 22, 2016 20:59
if it's any consolation, he hit himself in the head with a slingstone while designing the fumble rules

Jul 22, 2016 20:57
I should probably make a Meta post about this, huh?
Jul 22, 2016 20:56
It's actually kinda innocuous in its presentation. But, yeah, it's a white nationalist trying to turn his fantasy version of Nordic history into a game. Now you know.

Sep 18, 2020 11:57
Very solid answer, imo. I would also add "collaboration tools" to this list. E.g. if the rest of the team is using the VS Code view-sharing plugin for pair-programming or code review, then our recalcitrant dev needs to be able to support that workflow even if he's happily coding in Nano during his solo work time.

So, on the face of it, you want a formal academic study of how it feels to roll 1d20 vs. 2d6 — but just the randomizer itself, none of the RPG-specific mechanical bits like modifiers or scope of effect?
