@Ankoganit that's a really clever clue
Jun 22 04:52
(Have I teased Stiv enough)
Jun 22 04:51
It's okay, Stiv, before you know it you'll become a grandpa and then you can get back at your kids by spoiling your grandchildren
Jun 22 04:45
(You can even brag that you're so cool, you have the highest amount of reputation on this server! Wow!)

Jun 22 04:43
Wait....
Jun 22 04:43
@Stiv It's okay, you can explain to your kids how you're so cool because you're chronically online on a sort of dated server solving and making puzzles for other equally cool people to solve
Jun 22 04:41
@Stiv HAHAHAHA
Jun 22 04:41
It's just kind of funny
Jun 22 04:41
@GentlePurpleRain Oh and "strongest against" is like the the user's most frequently solved person
Jun 20 07:01
@msh210 It dooby pretty immature
Jun 20 06:53
@GentlePurpleRain okay you need to explain to me what the Nemesis sheet is on the C4 spreadsheet xD
Jun 6 01:09
that's what I thought
Jun 6 01:08
An &lit of sort or nah?
Jun 6 01:07
Ah
Jun 6 01:01
Can you explain displaying as the wordplay indicator?
Jun 6 00:47
I should probably get it checked out
Jun 6 00:47
@Jafe I don't so much wear it as the bobblie is attached to my head
Jun 5 05:48
@msh210 yeah we young-uns call it's OChem now
May 31 03:45
@Jafe Man, what a missed opportunity
May 30 17:02
wow
May 30 16:18
@DanielS Yup! Nice!
May 30 07:19
The number of things in science that's discovered through pure accident is always super humorous to me
May 30 07:11
Man just ate explosives and went "owie my head"
May 30 07:09
HAHAHA
May 30 07:01
@msh210 Ah yes, very common
May 30 07:01
> It was known almost from the time of the first synthesis of nitroglycerin by Ascanio Sobrero in 1846 that handling and tasting of nitroglycerin could cause sudden intense headaches,[5][6] which suggested a vasodilation effect
May 30 06:56
Nitroglycerin, also known as glyceryl trinitrate (GTN), is a vasodilator used for heart failure, high blood pressure, anal fissures, painful periods, and to treat and prevent chest pain caused by decreased blood flow to the heart (angina) or due to the recreational use of cocaine. This includes chest pain from a heart attack. It is taken by mouth, under the tongue, applied to the skin, or by injection into a vein. Common side effects include headache and low blood pressure. The low blood pressure can be severe. It is unclear if use in pregnancy is safe for the fetus. It should not be used together...
May 30 06:56
Which is actually also used as a bomb
May 30 06:56
Nitroglycerin (NG) (alternative spelling nitroglycerine), also known as trinitroglycerol (TNG), nitro, glyceryl trinitrate (GTN), or 1,2,3-trinitroxypropane, is a dense, colorless or pale yellow, oily, explosive liquid most commonly produced by nitrating glycerol with white fuming nitric acid under conditions appropriate to the formation of the nitric acid ester. Chemically, the substance is a nitrate ester rather than a nitro compound, but the traditional name is retained. Discovered in 1846 by Ascanio Sobrero, nitroglycerin has been used as an active ingredient in the manufacture of explosives...
May 30 06:56
I mean other funny drugs include
May 30 06:55
Oh yeah digoxin
May 30 06:31
It was just funny being like "wait these are toxins?"
May 30 06:30
Scopolamine is probably the most common, they usually come in patch form. Hyoscyamine I recognize because the pill bottles are usually like right next more common prescriptions like hydralazine or hydroxyzine. And atropine comes as atropine sulfate which are eye drops
May 30 06:29
"Wait pause, these are drugs that I handle somewhat regularly"
May 30 06:29
and I was like
May 30 06:29
"These toxins include atropine, scopolamine, and hyoscyamine, which cause delirium and hallucinations, and are also used as pharmaceutical anticholinergics."
May 30 06:28
So the wikipedia page for bella donna says:
May 30 06:28
So I work in a pharmacy (I'm actually applying for pharmacy school this upcoming year)
May 30 06:28
Okay sorry this is a total tangent but
May 30 06:22
(or the toxins in belladonna)
May 30 06:22
Ohhhh it's belladonna
May 30 06:20
Oh wait no I think I'm thinking of a different toxin
May 30 06:19
It's a really interesting chemical. A part of the structure is the same one found in cocaine
May 30 06:17
Yup
May 30 06:15
It was just the most complicated synthesis I can think of
May 30 06:15
I just pulled up the total synthesis of a toxin called tetrodotoxin (TTDX) which is the toxin released by pufferfish
May 30 06:14
HAHAHA
May 30 06:07
I don't think I actually understand a single step of this synthesis
May 30 06:06
(don't ask me if I actually know what's happening because I don't)
May 30 06:06
See, not that bad
