@Vérace You got a coalition of the center-right, but Sinn Fein increased their share and are now a plurality. Still hope to see the reunification go through, and for the Irish to give the Brits the finger for good.

@HannahVernon I never voted against "people like you". I voted for someone with a stronger platform for trans people than Democrats (no one disputes this). And of course you're free to defriend me for any reason. =) And I never made it out to be personal. I think that's a fair description of what happened -- in the context of an election -- "I reject any application of harm-reduction that places pronouns on driver's licenses on a spectrum of evil that includes Palestinian genocide".

Hanna defriended me on FB. It is amazing though how indoctrinated the trans community has gotten as a result of an obvious Democratic push to monopolize social issues and ignore war and economic ones.

@HannahVernon No regrets, genocide is a red line. I'm very public about voting for Stein and I would do it again. More correctly, I will do it again. ;) I would suggest people that can't break with the Democratic party: (a) accept their own failure because had they have broken with Democratic party we may have a vibrant third party; and, (b) at least hold your party (the DNC) accountable. Ro Khana, and Bernie Sanders have both came out and owned the failure. Own it, and right the ship (if possible).

Certainly happened a couple of times with me. For what it's worth.

I'm also a contributor to some of the Rust libraries with pg. Rust has a really good Pg ecosystem, other than Java it's the only language I know of that has the ability to communicate over native binary protocols with the DB. So there is a nice performance gain there.

My last three clients were security product (which I'm under an NDA about). And I built an MLS Service for Vietnam, a Waze-interfacing tool for tow-truck dispatching in areas with encrypted police radios (where that's the only input tow trucks have to find accidents), and I did some other projects like dispatching adjusters for insurance agencies in hurricane hit areas.

I do work with Rust, k8s, helm packaging, and PostgreSQL with a strong emphasis on GIS. But I also do C or Python if you're one of the three people that will pay reasonably for those skills: I just don't market those because I feel like they want to start the negotiations at $60/hr or some joke.

I just need to reassess my 9-5. I was doing DevOps when I left DBA.SE. I got into k8s/helm/gitlab/prometheus and such. It was a new skillset I didn't have. Got pretty good at it. Then the company did consolidation following a merger last year and sent devops to EU (presumably to save cost). They were glad to get me back on the product and writing Perl since I have a track record of that. The problem there is, now my skillset is souring and I'm not getting paid more. I also have less autonomy.

@JoeW what is your deal? No one say it's "illegal". You're literally the only person to use that term. It's a contract. The question is only whether or not the contract permits the licensor to that.

@JoeW I'm skeptical that you can you remove attribution because someone is charged with a crime, which is what I believe happened. I don't see a suggestion in that. I came here looking to see whether or not my skepticism was warranted before I asked the question. The answer inclines me to believe I was correct in being skeptical of the legality of unattribution. So I raised the issue of what I believe is a violation of the CC-BY-SA elsewhere in the appropriate venue (afaik). And I was clear everywhere about my intentions.

I love this and the irony of it. I asked this question then in 2020 about Sec 230. law.stackexchange.com/q/59662/218 and got a bunch of answers that I believe were veiled "bad idea because Trump suggested it." Now HRC is suggesting it.
