Can anyone explain why I can't edit this example: docs-beta.stackexchange.com/documentation/asp-classic/457/…
Kev
Apr 18, 2016 12:15
@Lankymart true.
Kev
Apr 18, 2016 12:12
Now I know what it's like to be a low rep user on SO, one often forgets how frustrating it must be.
Kev
Apr 18, 2016 12:07
@JonasCz ah, ok
Kev
Apr 18, 2016 11:59
@JonasCz I searched for a question on "wakanda", zero results (search box and tag filter) :/

Q: Allow suggested edits to a tag's "Friendly Name" for <2k users

KevLow rep docs users can edit a tag wiki and their "edit will be placed in a queue until it is peer reviewed". As a low rep user I can edit a tag's excerpt and body but I can't suggest an edit for a tag's "Friendly Name". Please add the ability for low rep users to also suggest an edit to a tag'...

Kev
Apr 18, 2016 11:10
@JonasCz yet oddly I can edit the rest of a tag wiki and have the edit put in a queue for review....
Kev
Apr 18, 2016 11:05
@JonasCz ok...appreciated (both)
Kev
Apr 18, 2016 09:58
How did the "wakanda" tag get a doc proposal based on just 51 questions on SO, but I can't propose "IIS" (for the purpose of documenting the ADSI and WebAdmin API's)?
Kev
Apr 18, 2016 09:48
@KurtisBeavers - ok, I am here: docs-beta.stackexchange.com/edit-tag-wiki/128 - but I don't see anything labelled "Friendly Name" - what am I missing?
Kev
Apr 18, 2016 09:37
@Lankymart so how did "objective-c" end up as "Objective-C Language"? I feel I'm missing some piece of the puzzle that takes a popular tag and turns it into a doc section (and transforms the tag name)
Kev
Apr 18, 2016 09:27
How do I request, or flag for a documentation section title change. For example: docs-beta.stackexchange.com/documentation/asp-classic would be better titled "Classic ASP" and would be consistent with other documentation sections.

hey folks....on CentOS 4.4 what other locations would additional ip addresses be configured for an ethernet i/f? I have a box that shows multiple eth0:* but the config isn't where i'd expect i.e. /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts

I'm at a loss for an answer. Can anyone answer that?

Hey folks.....a friends daughter is doing a crypto module in her maths degree final year course. She asked me this question: "wondering if you know of any elliptic curve encryption methods based on the difficulty of factorizing primes that are commonly used in practice, instead of method based on the discrete logarithm problem."

Would this question be better on sec.se? stackoverflow.com/questions/18348952/dirbuster-request (before I go flagging for a migration)

@RoryAlsop appreciated.

@RoryAlsop would you mind if I flagged it for migration to here?

@Gilles yeah, I can't work out from their docs if traffic can leak from their 5.0.0.0 pseudo adapter across to my 172.16.3.0

@YannisRizos can we arrange to do that tomorrow when I'm a bit more awake?
Kev
Oct 29, 2012 23:37
@YannisRizos I think they're hoping SE's google juice will bump the article on top of these out of date w3schools articles in search results..I kinda swung them round to taking a longer term approach on solving that problem
Kev
Oct 29, 2012 23:31
how would that work?
Kev
Oct 29, 2012 23:31
@YannisRizos wouldn't really be for me, but for one of the PHP folks. Trying to get them to fight their "stop using mysql_*" battle somewhere more useful than littering the comments with the same copy/paste comment they've constructed.
Kev
Oct 29, 2012 22:58
Hey folks....would an article on PHP SQL data access and providing the correct guidance on which library to choose (i.e. avoid mysql_*, go with PDO instead) be ok on the PSE blog?

anyone have a recommendation for Blu Ray playing software for windows 7? Don't mind paying. Have tried PowerDVD, felt like I was installing spyware (register to download then register just to run the bloody thing) then it crashed. Tried the hack with VLC (vlc-aacs.whoknowsmy.name) but I think the disk I have is protected with BD+ and not AACS

@MichaelK back in 1998, the company I worked for (TeleCity) was a tenant in the Bank of Scotland data centre in Edinburgh. We had a fenced off area in one of their modules. Their staff asked us to help move an IBM mainframe (or part of) across the DC floor, apparently this thing was worth about a £1.5 million back in '98. Most expensive thing I've ever touched/pushed/sweated on :)
