 The Frying Pan

Sometimes hot, always heavy. (cooking.stackexchange.com)

Technically my earplugs do that too (they only block up to 33 decibels or something). So not everything, some noise still gets through.
14:49
I can agree something covering your ears blocks sound :P
14:49
@rumtscho No worries. ;) We'll get there :P
14:48
Ahh. Over here, open-ear headphones are the ones that use 'bone conducting' to transfer sound. They don't over your whole ear :)
14:47
Sorry, I misread that.
14:47
Oh wait, open ear, not over-ear
14:47
@rumtscho Yeah I have those too, but wearing them for really long periods of time makes my ears sweaty :(
14:46
Thinking about how to reorganize cabinets without actually doing it :P
14:46
Just sitting on the couch and having thoughts about all sorts of stuff, from grocery lists to making plans for a bike or a vacation XD
14:45
I can live with that ;-)
14:45
@rumtscho Hahaha yeah.
14:44
I also often just put on music not to hear those things. I do have earplugs but I was advised not to wear them for more than an hour at a time, as a lack of sounds can apparently also cause tinnitus (your brain then just starts making up its own sounds).
14:43
Quiet? Oh no, my moments are never quiet :P There's always noise from neighbors here, it seems. And if there isn't, it's a barking dog, or crowing rooster, or a heat pump unit or or or...
14:41
But yeah, at least I'm capable of not stressing over having a day without plans, like one of my brothers ;-)
14:41
Family, sometimes even friends :P
14:41
It's not just the productivity bros but also just ... everyone else that considers themselves 'normal' :P
14:38
Fingers crossed :D
14:38
He can do a feedback loop too then ;-)
14:37
Or?
14:37
There will be a dad, right?
14:36
Fair. My tendencies are extremely... Lazy? (don't know if there's a more positive description). But I can really enjoy 'nothing' and often get annoyed if something interrupts my 'nothing'. Even if the interruption is (somewhat) pre-planned XD
14:33
Also true. I don't even want to consider what comes after ;-)
14:30
@rumtscho That's just 'proper' planning :P But yeah, perhaps a bit far ahead ;-)
14:29
Dealing with that all the time for nine months... not for me XD
14:29
I actually tried throwing a party when one of my friends was pregnant, and there was such a huge list of stuff I'd usually make that I couldn't make this time...
14:29
@Stephie Fair enough, there have been news articles about such practices here too (I haven't had to deal with doctors for more than eczema cream in ages, soooo.. hearsay). Still, all the things you can/can't do, all the tests... I'd probably go nuts just trying to plan it all
14:27
Ooof.
14:25
Fingers crossed you don't need to worry for a bit then ;-)
14:23
Oh, I can do that too (it's "topic" bound though. Some stuff I just can't worry about at all, other stuff... way too much).
14:22
That doesn't sound unbothered, nope.
14:22
Ahhh
14:21
Not the time just before the pregnancy? :P
14:21
Hahaha fair enough XD
14:17
It all sounds rather... bothersome!
14:17
... Reading you two, I am glad I have no plans to procreate XD
14:05
So many points of failure in that one :(
13:48
If it works, it works ;-)
13:30
@rumtscho Fair enough. Loads of things you can't have? Or morning sickness? Or both?
13:27
@Stephie Hah, oof.
13:27
@rumtscho You're eating for three, at least, though :P
13:26
@Stephie Ah yes, that's very orange :P
13:26
I've done some really enjoyable baking a while back, but I just don't have the occasions to share at the moment, and I really should not be eating all the extras myself XD
13:25
Yeah.
13:24
I've lately been mostly 'stuck' varying between the recipes I already know/like, and doing big batches of those. Part of my problem is that most of the recipes that I do want to try, are more of a 'special occasion' type recipe (lots of meat and/or little veggies and/or unsuitable for batch cooking/freezing and/or baking recipes) than regular 'dinners'.
13:20
(I also have one cookbook series I like, which is mostly dinner recipes, that I have like 5 books from and I cook from those quite a bit too).
13:19
@Stephie I have a 'special' whatsapp group for recipe links (just a repurposed old group that everyone else left :P), but I mostly collect 'offline' recipes using this: i.sstatic.net/A2fqAh38.png / i.sstatic.net/oT9w1F2A.png . I have three of those little books in which I write the ones I want to keep (and somewhat oraganize them), and a stack of torn-from-free-supermarket-magazines-pages that I still have to try.
11:43
In this case though, good thing you could make a second, and I bet the first one will end up gone too ;)
11:43
@Stephie On the other hand, sometimes the instructions are just 'wrong' (not just for pre-packaged baking stuff, also for other food stuff that comes in packaging).
Sat 19:06
@GratefulDisciple just make sure to visit a "Chinese" restaurant for it and don't buy the supermarket stuff ;)
Fri 09:09
@JourneymanGeek lol!
