Have the drop on

Are there any smart things to do with large, mostly no-op, config changes? Like right now I have a 13k diff, and the vast majority of it doesn't actually _do_ anything.
It's a common occurance and it's really annoying

Mohamed, if your question is still relevant, it's entirely unclear what you need to me, so you might need to re-phrase it. If you need to provide forms for end users to enter content into, webform might be helpful.

Shawn, in case your question is still relevant, I'd use the module you linked to if you think it work. Nothing is really maintained anymore for D7, so I doubt you'd find something much better.
Nov 18, 2021 14:55
I'm curious about people still asking about D7, what's the motivation for keeping up work on such an old site instead of upgrading?
May 11, 2021 08:29
Hey, I'm looking for a module to help build "prettier" blogposts/articles. Stuff like floating images left/right, showing quotes inline and other stuff. Surely such modules already exists, but I'm lacking the right keyword to search for apparently. Any suggestions?
May 13, 2016 09:44
@Dasj I actually don't understand that question at all. Why would you have two identical modules?
Apr 21, 2016 17:22
@kiamlaluno Ok, I will. :) Sadly I find myself slowly drifting away from the community, so it's increasingly unlikely to be an issue. :)
Mar 11, 2016 14:41
@kiamlaluno Yeah, I got it, I'm the one that used the wrong term initially. :)
Mar 11, 2016 10:49
@kiamlaluno Thanks :) Wouldn't have asked if it wasn't already RTBC. :)
Mar 10, 2016 20:54
@kiamlaluno Any chance you have access to promote projects and would be willing to do me a favour? The above project is RTBC and I'd like to have it promoted.
Aug 28, 2015 14:18
@arkjoseph It's generally better to just ask your question in the main chat. :)
Jul 23, 2015 10:00
@kiamlaluno Yeah, I saw, awesome. :)

@MattE.Эллен Documentation falling out of sync with code is hardly a Drupal unique problem.
May 13, 2015 05:22
@MattE.Эллен @MattE.Эллен I don't understand either of "bundles directory" or "theme folder".
May 8, 2015 08:23
@Raj Did you post a question?
May 5, 2015 07:22
SO\Drupal\keep_alive();
Apr 24, 2015 14:53
@kiamlaluno Do you happen to know if/when DA will get the new SO profiles? :)
Apr 24, 2015 11:34
@kiamlaluno I don't disagree, but one could argue that the low activity level says otherwise.
Apr 24, 2015 11:05
@kiamlaluno Might require some activity right away, or it's fast to lock again?
Apr 23, 2015 08:46
Sigh, I'm starting to think that this is doomed to fail :P
Mar 2, 2015 13:52
@murad Looks completely normal to me. I now see you have an answer as well.
Mar 2, 2015 12:54
@murad Doesn't sound normal, but I'm not seeing a pink background.
Feb 25, 2015 11:58
@Caleb Haven't looked at this particular one, but I expect this to have good info: amsterdam2014.drupal.org/session/drupal-8-cmi-managed-workflow
Feb 25, 2015 11:58
Right. So in D6/7 Features has been a popular solution to that problem, but allowing you to split stuff out from the DB, and move individual or groups of components, such as Views. But it's been heavily hampered by core, making features kinda difficult to work with. CMI aims to rectify that. Initially I said above the it made moving between servers easier. That's not necessarily true though. It's more like it becomes "enterprise friendly". So I edited to say reliable/predictable. It does add complexity.

@JoeThank you, sounds like my first stop is going to be Google Scholar. :)
Aug 15, 2018 19:42
@Joe Hey, any chance you could help me with my question that you closed as too broad?
https://parenting.stackexchange.com/questions/34664/has-how-to-help-babies-sleep-been-researched
The question is indeed practical, as it was written while my daughter was loudly complaining about being put in her bed. You wrote "there are a lot of reasons infants don't sleep well", and I'm sure there are, but I have no idea what those are! I suppose a different question I could pose then would be "What are common reasons for infants not falling asleep?".

I have a question that is an exact duplicate of an existing question. The accepted answer however does not work for me. Is it ok for me to ask the duplicate, or should I do something else?

Sounds good to me. :)
Apr 30, 2016 13:36
@badp No, none of the answers are current. The game has added enough complexity that I don't even know if one _can_ answer "What is the optimal bedroom size?" any more. Before, one could count to a number, and be done, which all the posted answers do.
Today there are some many factors to take into account, that I have no idea what a correct answer is.
Apr 30, 2016 13:33
@badp That's the question ^

A: What is the optimal bedroom size?

user50849The penalty for "cramped environment" happens to be the same as "sharing a room", Because of the large size for the room that's required to make "cramped environment" go away, I find that it's much more efficient to replace "cramped" with "sharing", by building a single large room, have multipl...

One could definitely ask a similar question today, but the screenshot attached is barely recognisable any more. And a concept in the question text also don't exist. While others have been added.

The old version is not supported or distributed in anyway any more.
Apr 30, 2016 13:29
I have an answer on the site, that's become outdated, due to the game being significantly patched since I wrote the answer. In fact, the answer is now probably more incorrect than correct. Should I care? The question is phrased such that it is quite heavily tied to the older game version, so updating the answer wouldn't make sense, even if I could be bothered.

Should I suggest an update to the question, so that players coming to the site with an up to date game-version doesn't mistake the Q/A for accurate information? Should I just leave it?

@FaheemMitha Thanks.
Jan 12, 2016 09:01
@FaheemMitha Ah, I see. :)
Jan 12, 2016 08:57
I asked a question, and no-one could work out the answer, despite multiple comments asking for various bits of new information. Now I just upgraded my kernel, and the problem resolved itself.

Should I remove the question? Should I refocus the question on the kernel issue, and post "Upgrade your kernel to version X" as the answer? Should I do nothing?
Jan 12, 2016 08:53
@FaheemMitha Anything with "cups" in the name is likely printer related, and would have nothing to do with your battery. I'm not familiar with the particular piece of software you refer to however.

Well there's clearly been authentication changes happening: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/260153/…
Sep 15, 2015 09:04
Opening a private session I see that the sites that do normally recognize me no longer have the SE login options anymore either. I'll go over to SE meta and see if there's an indication there that something has changed.
Sep 15, 2015 09:03
@ByteCommander Hmm, good question. I certainly haven't disabled them deliberately.
Sep 15, 2015 09:02
Maybe SO should be SE these days.
Sep 15, 2015 09:02
Stack overflow.
Sep 15, 2015 09:01
@cl-netbox Oh, don't think I've ever used that, I've always relied on the SO network itself for SSO.
Sep 15, 2015 09:01
@ByteCommander Right, that's exactly what I expect as well, and it works on 6 different sites that I just tried. They all recognize me as logged in, but AU does not.
Sep 15, 2015 08:59
Well, neither did I, until I was surprised to find that I wasn't logged in on AU, but everywhere else.
Sep 15, 2015 08:59
@cl-netbox With "SSO" meaning the SSO provided by SO? Cause that's no longer an option when I try to login.
Sep 15, 2015 08:51
Has the login to askubuntu changed, "recently"? I find that my login to the rest of the SO network (including this chat) isn't being recognized by askubuntu.
