Good pointšŸ‘
Apr 24, 2020 17:56
@FlashCactus fair point :)
Apr 24, 2020 17:56
@Daniil fair enough, I absolutely wasnā€™t trying to criticise! Just thought it was amusing!
Apr 24, 2020 17:54
Just so you know @Daniil, when you edit tags the post gets moved to the top of the feed (at least in the app). Not a problem whatsoever, just find it amusing that youā€™re the main character in my feed šŸ˜‚
Apr 22, 2020 21:46
I see what you mean. I take my point back, thereā€™s no need to worry
Apr 22, 2020 21:44
If Iā€™m misunderstanding, then please do let me know - this is my first SE beta
Apr 22, 2020 21:43
Yep, but ours is 215
Apr 22, 2020 21:41
Iā€™m not sure what you mean - it says that their stats are okay but need some work

Drones and Model Aircraftdrones.stackexchange.com

Beta Q&A site for experienced flyers, pilots and builders of drones and model aircraft.

Currently in private beta.

Apr 22, 2020 21:38
Iā€™m pretty sure that theyā€™re talking about the stats required for a private beta - Iā€™ll get the link now
Apr 22, 2020 21:34
Iā€™ve had a look at the Area 51 page and it says to be successful, you need around 1500 site visits per day. We have 215. How do you think we can up this number to make sure this Stack Exchange makes it through the beta phase?
Apr 18, 2020 14:40
Thatā€™s good to know - thanks!
Apr 18, 2020 14:31
Haha yep thatā€™s me! And thank you, you too!
Apr 18, 2020 14:12
Sounds like a plan :)
Apr 18, 2020 14:09
Haha, that may be the case! Iā€™m not certain what to do though!
Apr 18, 2020 14:07
Fair enough, letā€™s see how it evolves naturally :)
Apr 18, 2020 14:03
Thatā€™s true - do you think the influx would be unmanageable? Iā€™ve never been part of a beta before
Apr 18, 2020 14:02
Thatā€™s not too bad!
Apr 18, 2020 14:01
Is it worth it?
Apr 18, 2020 14:00
Oooh I see what you mean - that people would suddenly become active. Makes sense
Apr 18, 2020 14:00
Thatā€™s what I thought - thanks for the clarification
Apr 18, 2020 13:59
Or can people still join?
Apr 18, 2020 13:59
I donā€™t think weā€™ll get an influx yet as itā€™s still in private beta
Apr 18, 2020 13:58
Iā€™m not sure - he probably knows itā€™s open
Apr 18, 2020 13:57
@FlashCactus Iā€™ve put forward the synonym now
Apr 18, 2020 13:57
@anonymous2 awesome thanks, will do
Apr 18, 2020 12:43
Iā€™ve just earned the privilege of adding tag synonyms - are there any that anyone wants me to add?
Apr 17, 2020 16:48
Thatā€™s a fair viewpoint - I think it comes down to what direction we want this community to go. Should it be a database of general information, or a compilation of direct answers that will give the person the answer they need, but may not be as useful in future searches
Apr 17, 2020 16:46
@KennSebesta I think that the particular battery chemistry would be important here as well. For example, if someone says I need X voltage and Y amps, but I do t know what chemistry can give me that, I would then not be able to use that information
Apr 17, 2020 16:44
If itā€™sā€™how does a LiPo work, it isnā€™t necessarily on topic
Apr 17, 2020 16:44
@wizzwizz4 I think the kind of LiPo question is important. If itā€™s ā€˜Iā€™m building a heavy-lift drone, what is the best battery chemistryā€™ it is on topic
Apr 17, 2020 16:41
I agree. I think we should let the upvotes on that question speak for themselves: it seems the community agrees it is an on-topic question
Apr 17, 2020 16:37
I doubt there has been a site without this discussion - itā€™s a good thing weā€™re having this discussion because it means we can lay down what should be applicable before we go public
Apr 17, 2020 16:35
@wizzwizz4 I do see what you mean and as this rule does come directly from the CAA, I see how it may be applicable here
Apr 17, 2020 16:34
@wizzwizz4 see that perspective, though brushless motors and aerodynamics in RC aircraft are different enough than in other uses to be applicable here I feel
Apr 17, 2020 16:32
Thatā€™s fair enough, I fully see where youā€™re coming from. I guess the way I see it, if the same regulation could apply to something else, for example ā€˜you are only allow to have a campfire on property you controlā€™ (which I have no idea if itā€™s true), then interpreting it is more suited to a law SE than a drone specific one.
Apr 17, 2020 16:28
Iā€™m one of the people who commented that that particular question wasnā€™t completely on topic, and would just like to clarify that I completely support regulation questions being allowed here. I thought that this question maybe wasnā€™t the most fitting as it didnā€™t directly relate to drones, and more how a particular word within the law should be interpreted, which isnā€™t within the purview of the SE. Iā€™m very open to having my mind changed thoug.

Especially with the complications it caused, for example Brunt and Weyoun once appeared in the same episode together. Thanks for asking for clarification though, it helps me to improve the question.
Jun 6, 2017 23:10
It's not that I think they look alike, but they were played by the same actor.
Jun 6, 2017 15:08
@PaulD.Waite oh, I didn't know that. Thanks!
Jun 6, 2017 15:08
@KyleJones ok, that makes sense, thanks!
Jun 6, 2017 15:08
@KyleJones Ok, thanks, I hadn't noticed that before, I'll have to re-watch the Original Series!
Jun 6, 2017 15:08
Just a quick question: I'm fairly new to Stack Exchange, so I was wondering why people are down-voting my question, just so I don't make the same mistake in the future. Thanks!
