Q: Simple Cash Register -Python

Jakubhere it is my simple cash register app. It lacks some functionality ( class Payments should have more options like daily statements etc, class TillSettings needs more settings as well) but it does the job. Simple Cash Register and Stock Manager allows to add items to stock and then sell it and re...

I checked their profile and out of the last 10 questions on SO, 6 / 10 are sitting at 0 points with 4 / 10 accepted. Ugh
Aug 25, 2021 06:27
@Duga Ugh, I hate when people are like "here is some terrible code, but I do not really care. Can you just extend my solution because SO locked my question"
Aug 24, 2021 23:30
Took me 2 days to figure out what the heck these 20 lines did. Wrote em 5 years ago, what a mess.
Aug 24, 2021 23:27
Always fun looking back at code written 5 years ago and now, I've come a long way =)

I think copilot used top: 0, right 50%, translateX(50%, etc)
Aug 24, 2021 23:07
It deppends.. on the context etc, I tend to prefer Grid these days.
Aug 24, 2021 23:06
Like I saw people trying to use it to center divs, and yeah it used 10+ year old methods.
Aug 24, 2021 23:05
I wonder how google copilot handles copious amounts of old code
Aug 24, 2021 23:04
These days it feels as the default top google answer is 9 years old..

Stop suggesting me to use :wq to exit Vim when ZZ exists
Aug 24, 2021 23:02
Maybe? I just google things and cry.
Aug 24, 2021 23:01
I feel SO is getting dragged down by its age/size, and I use it far less now than 5-7 years ago. Reading the documentation is imho superior than reading a solution that worked well 5-7 years ago, but today is totally outdated.
Aug 24, 2021 22:59
I always forget how nice CR is when giving feedback on code =)
Aug 24, 2021 22:59
I asked a well received (but imho bad) question on Software Engineering. I thought they prefer slightly more psudocode, so removed my docstrings, typing hints and got this feedback.
> Type hints would be great indeed. divisors = proper(divisors) looks weird, for example, and I'm not sure if the type is the same for both divisors. Actually defining every mentioned variable would be a good start. As is, the code cannot be tested/refactored.

Just put all the gibberish the managers / PR team is asking you to do into github pilot and force push into master
Aug 24, 2021 22:49
Mess around on test branch, code reviews on dev, when dev is in a complete enough state, merge master into dev. Start cycle over again

Take this cute cat, it might help in the fight against the corporate
Aug 24, 2021 21:43
I am guessing what the question needs to be reopned is the context provided here in chat, and perhaps some imaginary examples of different providers.
Aug 24, 2021 21:29
Thanks Vogel! You've been here for years lol ^^
