Jesus is not the central messenger of Islam. Jesus is the central messenger for Mormons and JWs. The doctrine of the Trinity appears to be a later Catholic Church doctrine. Mark 12:31; John 15:15 and John 15:26 give the impression the Father, Son & Holy Spirit are separate things.
Dec 31, 2024 21:20
The Mormons & JWs emerged in the 1800s in an increasingly secular American society where heretics were not burned & executed as occurred in recent past centuries in Europe. For example Wikipedia says JWs religious activities are banned or restricted in some countries, including China, Russia, Vietnam, and many Muslim-majority countries. It appears this often occurs due their refusal to do military service. I guess this refusal to join the military is closer to Jesus than wanting to join the military.

As an example, during the covert Syria War, Hamas (originally Muslim Brotherhood, banned in most/all Muslim countries) opposed the Syrian Govt & Hezbollah. These various groups have no inherent connection, apart from political convenience. For some reason, Iran & Syria reconciled with Hamas and want to portray themselves as caring about Gaza. At the same time, Qatar (enemy of Syria & Iran), often at the behest of Israel, has funded Hamas (in the recent past). There is too much covert political things occuring here for the comic book dualities of the mass media (which is not "history").
Apr 15, 2024 13:46
Hezbollah is a Lebanese Shia group formed from local people who were previously oppressed by the PLO then later became oppressed by 15 years of Israeli occupation. Under International Law, their formation is not illegal. If Iran has funded Hezbollah has zero relevance to the validity of Hezbollah's existence. What the USA or Israel purports has no relevance to international law. Hezbollah were invited into Syria to free Christian monastic towns & kidnapped Christian nuns from Al Qaeda. This is the reality. "History" is not propaganda hogwash.
Apr 15, 2024 13:46
Al Qaeda is linked to the Saudi Arabia which is an ally of the USA. Al Qaeda is currently protected by NATO Turkey in Idlib in Syria. These are the facts. VP Biden openly said at Harvard in 2014 (whenever) Al Qaeda & ISIS in Syria were funded by Qatar & other US allies. These are the facts. A few years ago an Al Qaeda leader wearing a Western suit was even allowed to do a publicity campaign on USA TV with PBS. These are the visible facts. This is a history website and the nonense in these comments are best deleted. Al Qaeda continues to fight wars for US interests.
Apr 15, 2024 13:46
Many of the comments here are mere nonsensical illogical propaganda conjecture and should be deleted. For example, the Brittanica Encylopedia article says the bombers were linked to both Al Qaeda & Hezbollah yet Hezbollah has no links to Al Qaida and, in reality, is opposed to Al Qaeda. Hezbollah fought against Al Qaeda in Syria and only recently there was a "coincidental" attack by Al Qaeda & Israel as the same time upon the Syrian Army in Syria. The appears no evidence of who bombed the US in Lebanon and anonyous phone calls are not "evidence".

It does not matter if I get banned from this forum because that kamma falls upon you and the moderator, who already is reaping the results of their past kamma.

These same non-Buddhist questions are on Sutta Central. It appears the questioner objects to every answer given there at Sutta Central.
Dec 3, 2023 02:50
Thanks for pointing this sutta out, but I don’t think it fits the case. The Buddha did not conclude that they would do anything he concluded “there is no bad deed they would not do” and just in general it isn’t the kind of logical falsity I’m after but rather it’s about feeling ashamed or not ashamed. I’ll try and think of a good fictional example for the kind of argument I’m looking for…

My answer is related to how I read the question. If you believe my answer misconstrues the question then i suggest you adhere to posting questions about Buddhism rather than posting questions about Western philosophy. I regard my answer to be excellent & on point. You can accept my answer or leave it.

so what explicit rules on this forum allow a main question as the one made? thanks. surely this question should be deleted because on DD is able to give a truthful answer to it.
Nov 24, 2021 11:43
Andrea. There as no Abhidhamma when the Buddha was alive. You comment is illogical. Regardless, there was no fault. The questions were all valid questions. I will now take my leave of this forum; for the moderators here to continue its degeneracy.
Nov 24, 2021 11:43
Since DD generated 37,521 good kamma points, DD was cared about. The obviously degeneracy of this site from its intent as an "Experts Site" to a "Papanca Site" shows posters in the expert class of DD are sorely missed. Obviously, the current low quality of this site shows something is going seriously amiss here. When a top poster is suspended for 3 months for asking good questions about Abhidhamma, it shows this site has degenerated into Political Correctness.

All I can recall is fools crushed on other forums who claimed to have right view. After being crushed, they went into self-exile, burning with hate & anger. It was an amazing vision of Dependent Origination, to witness rebirth in hell realms of burning anger, hatred & lack of self-control.

@ChrisW. I recall you said I should not comment on 116PУC's answers. Please kindly & consistently place the same restraint on 116PУC. The Buddha did not endorse hypocrisy. Thank you.

Animals are yet to realise the noble truths.
Apr 24, 2020 23:52
Since the four noble truths were realised 31 years ago, its working out well so far. What about others? Still believing the impossibility of non-perception is Nibbana?
Apr 24, 2020 23:52
this comment is unwarranted. the teaching appears to say "the few animals realise the noble truths" and "the many animals do not realise the noble truths" suttacentral.net/sn56.131/en/sujato

Keep denying suffering. Keep looking for ways to justify having harmful sex with women.
Dec 24, 2019 21:53
In Thai Buddhism, the 3rd precept is taught to men but not to women. To women, Dhp 242 is taught, namely, a woman cannot have sex with anyone apart from her husband. Obviously, puthujjana do not understand why this occurs.
Dec 24, 2019 21:53
Chris. Your ideas are Cultural Marxism. They are not Buddhism. The Buddha did not teach about "equality". The Buddha taught: "misconduct is the taint in a woman". The Buddha taught: "misconduct is the taint in a woman". The Buddha taught: "misconduct is the taint in a woman". The Buddha taught: "misconduct is the taint in a woman". The Buddha taught: "misconduct is the taint in a woman".The Buddha taught: "misconduct is the taint in a woman".
Dec 24, 2019 21:53
We have already quoted the suttas, where a specific teaching is given about women & misconduct. It exists for a reason. Where as you continue to post lust and now slander against Buddhists. The bottom line is you appear to promote the view that have promiscuous sex with women is OK. The Buddha said: "misconduct is the taint in a woman".
Dec 24, 2019 21:53
In my life, I was once involved with two women. Then when I saw the wrong of extramarital sexual intercourse, I simply dropped it. I never had an emotional issue about it. I went immediately from two women to celibacy. Where as I have never met a woman like this. I know women after 30 & 40 years still trying to work out where, why, how, etc, their relationships went wrong. They continue to blame the man and never realise they made the mistake of not only sexual immorality but choosing an incompatible man. Find me a woman who admits her past relationships were "immoral". Thanks
Dec 24, 2019 21:53
The Buddha said to avoid women. Obviously your comments are the product of lust & beguilement. You have repeatedly made comments on this forum that encourage sexual lust rather than take a view that reduces lust. Since I have had no problems with sexual lust for many years, I know what I am talking about. My posts represent the Buddha and other religious Prophets. Where as your views are Cultural Marxism. What purpose do you think your comments serve? To attract women to Buddhism for you to lust over them or exploit them for money?
