It would be interesting to compare this to how "crime prevention" worked under Stalin and other regimes, where you had a chance of getting caught even if not guilty.
Jun 16, 2019 11:55
@Separatrix :)
Jun 15, 2019 10:56
I posted my comment to just show another point that would be possible to use, not to negate the (indeed very good) answer of Separatrix, but y'all just crucified (haha) me instead. Maybe it's also the common hate of something that helps unite communities. :-)
Jun 15, 2019 10:56
@VLAZ another similar(-ish) concept is used. Take Buddhism, for example: if you aren't good, you won't ever achieve Nirvana.
Jun 15, 2019 10:56
But it's the fear of hell that puts the community together.

Where did you get all that improbability from? must have costed a fortune

Jan 6, 2017 16:50
Actually, they already know. From the time you posted this :)

@rekire After a day of inactivity, I got it at the same moment as a silver badge for 2500 views on a 3 day old question...
Dec 23, 2016 11:12
Some speculation: I recall getting the "Elementary" hat just after searching multiple times for other user's posts, eg. "user:10 starcraft". Could anybody check this?

Nov 17, 2016 18:29
@PaulChernoch Yes, I used a hyperbole - of course things went on, but against what it was in ancient Greece and Europe after the end of the middle age it was overseeable.
Nov 17, 2016 18:29
@eques I meant just the idea of Communism; not what it is. But you're right here. The prosperity of ancient Greece, Egypt and Rome was ended and for like a thousand years, nothing changed...
Nov 17, 2016 18:29
You mean giving the ideology of Communism to medieval kings? :)

Nov 14, 2016 23:53
The real question here is, How do you defend yourself from your own antimatter weapons?

Oct 22, 2016 07:51
@Sklivvz All the online articles focus on the problem generally, "Is Linux safer than Widnows": Yes/No. The online articles don't focus on a single ONE statement, but take more claims and put them together. Not vice versa, like here.
Oct 21, 2016 19:15
@Sklivvz What about "Are Windows computers more often compromised than Linux computers?"
Oct 21, 2016 18:57
@Sklivvz There are reopen votes? That totally changes the situation (to the good, IMO). Could you please give some help on how to fix the question? Thank you for your efforts on helping me. (To prevent misunderstanding, I do not mean and will not mean anything ironically)
Oct 21, 2016 16:29
@Sklivvz You said that "The question as it stands is clearly primarily opinion based and will not work here." That means that a) my question is different, but not a fit to this site, or b) my question is not different, and POB, as well as the original. I would ask you to either lift the duplicate close, or re-close the question as Primarily Option Based.
Oct 20, 2016 15:01
@Sklivvz If so, could the question be closed instead as something else, not as a dupe?
Oct 20, 2016 14:30
I also reworded again, FYI.
Oct 20, 2016 14:29
@Sklivvz Since there's a chat room already here, can we discuss the closure of my question, skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/35514/…?
Oct 19, 2016 14:55
@Sklivvz Is better now? If not, could you please edit the wording so it fits your limits?
Oct 19, 2016 14:55
@Sklivvz I had read that question before this post, but I don't think that these two are dupes; I doubt that Linux is safer than Windows just because one being open-source, and that all open-source things are safer than closed-source. If you think that the closure of this post can be affected by the wording, feel free to edit.

Clock. Tick. Tack. Not really, because the clock is just graphical :)
Oct 19, 2016 15:51
@DH. And clocks :)
Oct 19, 2016 14:10
@ratchetfreak or just make the mod's ores spawn later.
Oct 19, 2016 14:06
@ratchetfreak very hard, since generation of worlds/chunks is in this order: 1. Ores, 2. Bedrock, 3. Caves, lakes, 4. Dungeons, etc.
Oct 19, 2016 14:04
@DH. And, also, gold is not useless :) Not even in vanilla - rails, for example
Oct 19, 2016 13:56
@DH. gold, by my statistics, is about the same frequent when cave-mining and branch-mining - cave: 307 gold in 15 hours, branchmine: 298 gold in 15 hours.
Oct 19, 2016 11:44
@Arperum Caves do give you more ores, but in average, per hour, you will get like half the diamonds and emeralds. Which is the only thing you're mining for if you have 43 stacks of iron :)

The two things that came into my mind: What about using the unused heat from desalinating water to provide heating? Is it enough? And what about recycling water?
