@Chad Please consider that it is not necessarily anti-pet to euthanize a healthy pet if the only alternative due to tight finances after a disaster would be to abandon the pet in the wild.

@EsaPaulasto yeah most parts of germany are somewhat populated. plus everything infrastructure-ish here is quite overengineered in terms of availability

But thinking about it, I guess there are more disasters in the US than in the EU

@Esa I think we need to distinguish between the method and the theory here. While C. Milans methods may work, the theory behind it is flawed. And while you might see the difference in the dogs he handles, others might not and repeat his theories no matter what.

@Chad I prefer to deal with problems before they exist. Taking care of things is a lot easier than cleaning up the dirt afterwards.

"healthy" it is redefined to "natural" in the question body, I'm not sure if that is good though.

The qualifiers are "commonly kept" and "healthy", the last one is highly subjective.

So if I say dogs, that will sure as hell develop into a discussion…

There are sometimes ethical considerations besides a technical question. A lot of people have an opinion on the ethical stuff, but only a few have the knowledge to provide an answer ignoring the ethical stuff
