Q: How to comb/brush my cat in hard to reach areas?

AthariMy cat loves being combed, he purrs and nuzzles my hands, but whenever anything, be it a comb or my hand, tries to reach his belly, he attacks it with all his four legs as soon as he notices it. Even petting his belly is tricky as I have to move from behind. When he's lying on his back, chances o...

That's Milli. She is especially interested in cooking, and the contents of our fridge.

Q: How to keep a leopard gecko warm in power cut?

Andy HolmesJust a quick one. What would you say is the best way to keep geckos warm when there is a power cut? If the power is off for a few hours it's okay, but with the harsher winters and storms the power might be out for longer Andy

@AndyHolmes I think it is good question, just reword it a bit to make it more like what should I do to prepare for a power outage?

Q: What disaster considerations should I make for my pet rabbit?

James JenkinsAfter reading through http://www.ready.gov/ I have a family plan and am creating a Disaster Supply Kit. What considerations should I have for my house rabbit? What supplies should I include in the kit for my bunny?

My question about disaster considerations for my pet rabbit, comes from the seed planted by @Andy Holmes. I also created the tag 'disaster', we could probably use a question for each type of pet, as each will have different requirements.
I am thinking a separate question for each type of pet, for what should be in a first aid kit.

Q: cat peeing outside box. anxiety?

travisWe have an 8 year old cat that recently Started peeing in one spot in the hallway. During the summer months she spends most of her time outside but during the cold winter she stays inside mostly, could this be causing her some anxiety?

@JamesJenkins How long a disaster situation? For cats we usually have a small stock of dry food and wet food, so the only thing they need is water, which is also what we people need. So cats will survive as well as we survive. I'd say the same goes with dogs.
That ready.gov site is really somewhat strange, I didn't know the prepper-movement was that strong in the US.
But thinking about it, I guess there are more disasters in the US than in the EU
@Baarn Ehh.. or is it that a disaster in the US is just a "worse than average" day in the EU?
Here, BBC news of today: bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25502730
The storm that floods rivers and blocks roads is broadcasted in the News as something that "ruins people's travel plans"
Does not sound awfully serious, even though the numerous images in the article show a situation that might be considered a disaster in the US.

@EsaPaulasto Well, we only have some Storms and Floods in the EU… nothing really serious like Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Earthquakes etc

@JamesJenkins I am not sold on the first aid kit. Any thing that most people are going to be able to use is going to come from a regular first aid kit.

@EsaPaulasto, The minimum should be a 3 day supply, but 1 - 2 weeks is a more reasonable self sustaining time limit. Each person needs to make their own decision on time.
@Chad, There are few rabbit specific items that are not normally in human first aid kit. If there is not an answer in a couple days, I will write one.
