Danke für die Beispiele. :-) Ich kenne das natürlich, wollte nur wenigstens einen Nachweis in einem Wörterbuch haben. Und der Grimm ist mir ehrlich gesagt zu lang. :-)

@r13 The federal state can (in theory) "print" as much money as it wants.
Mar 14, 2021 19:25
The money has to be repaid, but the debt doesn't have to be reduced. The state can easily pay the debt with new debt.

@marlon Some companies pay for quality, some don't. And the second try may well have used a more expensive route since then they wanted to ensure delivery. They of course if you have used the code, i.e. if the message reached you.

@marlon The message contained the valid code. That's what counts.

Q: Is the TeX typesetting free and open source?

James FennellI recently opened the source code for the widely-used TeX typesetting system, and was surprised by the restrictive license I found: This program is copyright (C) 1982 by D. E. Knuth; all rights are reserved. Copying of this file is authorized only if (1) you are D. E. Knuth, or if (2) you make a...

Q: Has there been any significant scientific research in the matter of readability vs. justification of text?

johnymmBasically, has anything been shown (in terms of statistical significance) on whether justified text is more or less readable than flush left text? When I say "justified," I mean expertly justified—with proper hyphenation, line-breaking algorithms, and all that. Not something sloppily done by M...

@DavidRicherby Ryanair marketed Weeze (NRN) as Düsseldorf (only 86km) and Lübeck (LBC) as Hamburg (only 70km).

Downvote because you refer to the German unification as colonisation.

I didn't know that most industrialized countries (which provide some form of free healthcare and free education) are socialist countries. Please call Theresa May and tell her that she leads a socialist government. :-)

A delay is very unlikely as there will be elections to the European Parliament starting on 2019-05-23 and a delay of Brexit would complicate them tremendously.

@LangLangC: "but an invasion which is celebrated by the invaders, as a glorious event." - it wasn't an invasion. But yes, it wasn't a merger of equals.
Dec 8, 2018 14:17
Sorry, but mentioning the German unification makes the answer simply wrong.

Q: Why is it so hard for the US government to commit to landing a man on Mars as compared to the Apollo program?

JonathanReezDuring the 1960s the US government raced against the Soviet Union in an attempt to become the first in various areas of space exploration. They have committed a significant amount of money and resources and successfully landed on the moon in 1969. However landing a man on Mars does not seem to in...
