@WorldEngineer I still have WP access.
Feb 8, 2012 21:08
@ChrisF Way to be fast with that.
Feb 8, 2012 20:39
@YannisRizos Bravo, sir.
Feb 8, 2012 20:13
@YannisRizos Gotcha.
Feb 8, 2012 20:10
@ChrisF Is the data site always that far behind??
Feb 8, 2012 20:08
@ChrisF You could write a query on data.stackexchange.com to look that up, technically
Feb 8, 2012 20:05
@psr And we can't always know "what people will close" - it only takes 3000 rep to issue a close vote; We have 256 users w/ vote to close powers - each with their own interpretation of what constitutes an on-topic question.
Feb 8, 2012 20:02
P.SE concerns itself with subjective material. Yes, we have guidelines determining what is on topic for this site but when dealing with the subjective it truly is open to each persons interpretation. We aren't as cut and dried as S.O. because they can more objective about what constitutes a proper question.
Feb 8, 2012 19:56
@psr Although even then, there's no guarantee you can get it into an On-Topic state.
Feb 8, 2012 19:56
@psr You should always try and edit first - sometimes a question is unsalvageable from the beginning but I've managed to turn a question around and save it from being closed before. It just takes some effort.
Feb 8, 2012 19:52
.....yeah
Feb 8, 2012 19:47
@Rachel Might defer some of the epic comment chats that take place too
Feb 8, 2012 19:39
The original question was surely off topic - I was half and half on whether to vote to close even after my edit.
Feb 8, 2012 19:39
@YannisRizos I guess I see where its off topic - but I think we're in the middle of a grey area with it.
Feb 8, 2012 18:25
@YannisRizos My fiancee is always doing the nose. She insists that I do the nose too. Drives me nuts.
Feb 7, 2012 21:20
i'll post them on meta sometime tonight
Feb 7, 2012 21:17
I'm compiling some statistics on our election - we may not have performed as badly as we thought.
Feb 7, 2012 21:17
@Rachel Definitely.
Feb 7, 2012 20:20
Dang - endowment of powers sure is fast.
Feb 7, 2012 20:12
@Rachel Looks right - Thomas and Yannis
Feb 7, 2012 20:06
@MarkTrapp Good call. The link disappeared so I was confused.
Feb 7, 2012 20:05
Where are the results posted at?

@Ubermensch Awesome - I'll take a look at it this weekend. With this article, the two others, and mine being completed this weekend we'll soon have enough of a backlog to start publication!
Feb 23, 2012 15:32
@MarkTrapp Waiting on a backlog - as Rachel mentioned we have two completed and I'd like for another two to be done before start publishing. Sorry to everyone if I've haven't been around as much as I should have been - work's been pretty heavy this past week.
Feb 13, 2012 21:47
The blog is moving forward and I think I can say with confidence that we're only a few weeks away from having a bi-weekly publication cycle; I'm even more confident that it will turn into a weekly publication within a couple months. To everyone that is involved - keep up the great work!
Feb 13, 2012 21:45
The best part (in my mind) - today I logged into Trello and noticed that several idea cards went through creation, discussion, voting, and approval with zero involvement from myself. To me this is a mark of just how fantastic and involved the P.SE community is.
Feb 13, 2012 21:42
And with no sign of slowing down - if anything, activity is picking up speed. We have one article written and currently under proofreading and review, with another four already in the works.
Feb 13, 2012 21:41
Its been about two weeks since things got started - and in that time I'm proud to say that we have had 13 active volunteers taking part on the Trello board. There have been numerous discussions and collaboration and teamwork regarding ideas, topics, and writings.

State of the Blog - report
Feb 13, 2012 20:49
@Jae no problem - eventually I'll put together something on Meta about proofreading and etiquette
Feb 13, 2012 20:42
@Jae, @Morons, @Ubermensch You should be able to see Rachels article now
Feb 13, 2012 20:41
And the team is still small enough that it isn't difficult to keep tabs on what everyone is doing
Feb 13, 2012 20:41
@Morons I agree, which is why I'm doing this
Feb 13, 2012 20:40
couple minutes
Feb 13, 2012 20:40
*draft
Feb 13, 2012 20:39
please save everything as a drat
Feb 13, 2012 20:39
The only stipulation I have is to remind everyone - "Don't accidentally PUBLISH anything"

Feb 13, 2012 20:39
@Jae I think for the time being everyone is going to have Editor level access and up, at least until I can get more advanced ACL features figured out
Feb 13, 2012 20:37
i have...............7 months
Feb 13, 2012 20:34
i'm probably not qualified, honestly - there are much smarter people out there who have years of e-commerce work under their belt
Feb 13, 2012 20:27
no matter how much I wanted to - you don't throw code away
Feb 13, 2012 20:26
yeah.... its a blast; I've spent the past seven months refactoring this site from a gigantic procedural mess; One by one I've been converting the components into Object Oriented goodness
Feb 13, 2012 20:21
@Rachel I can proofread some tonight - I'm swamped here currently trying to wire up Fedex shipping to some custom e-commerce platform written in procedural PHP.
Feb 13, 2012 16:09
@Rachel Awesome work on getting an article ready so fast! Reading it now.
Feb 13, 2012 16:09
@Jae, @Ubermensch, @Morons - there is a permissions setting w/ the group of Contributors not being able to see posts they didn't write themselves. Wordpress' ACL system isn't fluid, so I can't grant specific rights to groups or even people. I'll have something this afternoon about what I can do.
Feb 13, 2012 14:47
@Jae @Ubermensch I'm not sure why - I'll look into it this morning and get back to you. Its probably a security setting that needs to be flipped.
Feb 9, 2012 20:24
@Morons Why not just use your name? Its good advertising. :)
