I think I'll reload again, even though I'll lose quite a bit of time. It does seem the game is more designed that you'll still support yourself from your home planet, bootstrapping is possible but a bit too tedious
Not sure my second attempt is working so much better. I did arrive on Vulcanus, but I didn't bring anything useful and I only noticed a bit later that I can use some things from the space platform to bootstrap on the planet. My space platform is dying though again because unlike on the starter planet there are dangerous asteroids here in orbit as well
Surprisingly managed to kill the last boss in Hades II, found a reasonably overpowered build and just tanked his attacks while dealing enough DPS to survive that.
Anyone else disappointed by Starfield here? I usually enjoy this kind of game a lot, but this time it's just not grabbing me at all. I used Gamepass to try it, so I'm not regretting buying it at full price.
@Wipqozn The debate alone isn't necessarily the problem, but combined with the White House hiding Biden and avoiding press conferences this is just a terrible look and leaves plenty room for imagination of how bad it might actually be behind the scenes
What I noticed on my own perception is that it was mostly driven by my perception of Biden during the last election. I have no idea how much that perception is still valid at all today
@Wipqozn The one thing I think is inexcusable and dragging everything down is that they are obviously keeping Biden out of the spotlight and out of many kinds of free-form interaction with the press or people. So we do not know how fit Biden actually is because this information is actively controlled, I do not think it is unreasonable to assume a pessimistic view on Biden's actual condition under these circumstances
Pelosi saying Biden should do a few unscripted interviews feels significant. I wouldn't have expected anything from her outside either unconditional support or very generic statements
So they keep all their option open, if a specific Trump immunity case comes along they can validate that if they want. But if anything else comes along they can just use whatever definition of "official act" they want or use the presumptive immunity to argue that it doesn't apply in this case
Seeing a few more reactions, it seems to me like the decision is so vague that it still allows almost every potential interpretation. So in the end this is closer to the simple delay that was expected, but it does lay the groundwork for immunity in cases that matter. It does leave enough room to nullify cases like the Seal Team 6 example (in large part due to the presumptive immunity instead of absolute immunity)
One huge problem is that this makes all the attacks on Biden's age much more effective, and they were plenty effective already before the debate. It's a narrative Biden won't be able to shake
Okay, I just watched the first question and I don't think I can take much more of that debate. Biden talks really weak and frail and Trump is just talking bullshit, but with a stronger voice. It doesn't make sense what he says, but I don't think that matters
I expect Trump to actually appear, but it would not entirely surprise me if he bailed. I just don't think that move was prepared enough, I would have expected much more direct attacks on the debate organization if he wanted to bail
I did watch the original Trump debates against Hillary back then live, those felt important somehow. This time I'm not sure anything matters (in determining the outcome)
The debate is at 3 am for me, so I'll see tomorrow morning what the reactions to it were. I might try to watch it then, but I'm not sure how much of Trump ranting I can take
So the three models for the presidential election give Trump a 50% chance (538), a 66% chance (Nate Silver) and a 70% chance (The Economist). That's not the numbers I'd like to see here
@Wipqozn The way everything is going right now, I actually expect Trump to win again. I was sure he had no chance after losing, but it seems that nothing actually matters
The attacks in this case are so monstrous that I don't see any choice except to take sides in this specific case. The larger conflict is much more complex, but what happened the last days is much simpler.
Hamas is hiding inside civilian buildings, so there is no way to avoid targeting civilian structures. It's far from perfect, but until recently they did usually perform "roof knocking" before bombing buildings in Gaza so that civilians have a chance to flee before the building is destroyed
There is a large difference between targeting legitimate military targets and causing civilian casualties and intentionally killing civilians. So both sides are certainly not the same here
