it wasn't really like I did a whole lot different to get here, my advisor just happened to be in touch with the people who're active in the topic I like. so it's kind of luck that I found something I enjoy to the point of not feeling like work

my college research project was miserable tho

I kind of lucked out by getting to work on an astro topic that I've been very interested in since high school
