Do not worry, @MartinSleziak, we have an antifreeze active. And before we had that we did unfreeze as soon as frozen. I rarely let the room go as many as 5 days without a new post but sometimes it does slip through.

When I read gardens for the theme I thought tuinen, which translates to yards in American English. So now I am working on getting suitable photos.
Jul 7 07:43
@gparyani, it was you that posted the length of the extension period, I have gone with 24 hours extensions in the past. I leave it up to you to remark the highest voted post of @cocomac is not around.
Jul 1 12:00
@cocomac, till when do you extend the voting? It is a tie again.
Jul 1 08:31
I do most of the Stack Exchange visits on my phone these days, including posting photos. So not much attention to detail for me.
Jul 1 08:30
Yes, three way tie but I feel the statue stack does not really meet the rules, so no vote for that from me. Most months I do only vote at the end of the month to be able to break ties.
Jul 1 08:03
Sorry, I forgot to vote last night.
Jul 1 08:02
I have broken the tie, it depends on what @cocomac decides whether we wait till a given moment or accept the current situation.
Jul 1 07:59
Appreciated, nice topic for me, this time I will have photos to chose between.

The VM riders report that while riding a tiny bit ventilation is enough to keep the screen clear. But as soon as they stop they have to open the visor.
Jul 23 07:26
For motorcycle helmets there are wipers. In VM they are used when that kind of visor is used. The ones I remember seeing are hand driven, there might also be electric powered ones.
Jul 22 10:19
That was a bigger distance from my face than a visor would be
Jul 22 10:17
In one previous VM I had a visor mounted on the bike and it was almost impossible to see through at night, with sun or in rain.
Jul 22 10:14
@Peachy yes that does make sense.
Jul 21 22:49
I meant the metal the tires sit on
Jul 21 22:47
Tires isn't.
Jul 21 21:52
When they transport trikes, including VM on a rack they just use straps around the tires. (I can not find the right word.)
Jul 21 21:49
I can ride open recumbents and I have a few, but the VM is less risk for falling.
Jul 21 21:48
The workshops working on these bikes have a table with a soft cover and the bikes get rolled on their sides of needed.
Jul 21 21:46
I have done a few longer rides with two holidays in it but being on sick leave where I can ride does allow for extra energy to ride. I can not lift things with my right arm.
Jul 21 21:45
In the previous one there were big holes in the bottom, big enough to work through.
Jul 21 21:43
Jul 21 21:43
It is not a removable fairing, it is a tub which can not be opened. But my current one has a big cover over the front.
Jul 21 21:41
260 km last week.
Jul 21 21:41
I did on average about 4500 km/ year in the previous VM, now I am at 3260 in 4 months.
Jul 21 21:39
Yes, the chain runs under the seat in a kind of tunnel, protected in tubes. And I do not sweat much, not enough to have it pooling in the bike.
Jul 21 21:37
My system weight is about 110 kg to 120 with shopping. Which is not more than some of you guys on light bikes.
Jul 21 21:35
The chain is completely within the bike, no contact with outside at all.
Jul 21 21:33
If I believe the numbers I have heard we do ten times as many km with our chains.
Jul 21 21:30
Three times usually.
Jul 21 21:28
I have done over 3000 km with my chain and I am thinking about giving it its second drop of oil....the difference an enclosed system makes.
Jul 5 19:58
But more important, I am just curious what kind of power I use but do not expect to want to know it more than once nor do I expect to improve with a power meter.
Jul 5 19:56
Yes, all my money has gone into the 'bike'.
Jul 5 16:07
Maybe I can get one of the VM riders let me use this for a try.
Jul 5 16:06
@Michael oops, that is three times what I remembered and I thought the €250 already too much.
Jul 5 11:33
I have been looking at pedal power meters but was shocked how much they cost. Are they still as expensive?
Jul 5 11:31
I have a sports watch, mostly because I wanted to have some reliable heart rate readings while riding. It works for that. But for activity advice? It tells me to take a rest when I am sitting down and having a relaxed chat. So no, I will not take it seriously.
Jul 2 18:20
@PaulH same as my last sit up bikes and wider than my current VM.
Jul 1 16:06
It may be 5, but with the ongoing spam attacks the number of extras the smoke detector can add is limited, it does run out of votes at times.
Jul 1 06:34
On some sites three spam flags are enough, on most four are needed. We had Travel changed into only three recently die to an ongoing spam attack.

 The Base Camp

Nothing running?
Jul 21 21:59
As they did after he took early retirement (which was still common then.)
Jul 21 21:59
He and his wife went sailing to Riga, the company survived.
Jul 21 21:58
A friend was asked several years not to take holidaysin the summer and agreed as long as the company would allow him a very long holiday the year he turned 50. They readily agreed, till the year of his long holiday came around and they claimed that he could not be missed for 3 months. But he had their agreement in writing.
Jul 17 05:50
@RoryAlsop, I hope you have talked them into one good long break when that merger is done or a lot of shorter breaks in the near future.
Jul 9 18:55
@RoryAlsop, will you have more time in the summer?
