@TudorMeister Exactly why I put the emphasis on reading the book. The movie is complete and utter trash, even more so when comparing it to the book. It has nothing in common but the name, trust me.

@Samthere This will not apply to a prediction of random events, though. The lottery numbers example is pretty much spot on. The universe doesn't need to change anything big to make the prediction come true - just a few tweaks in the quantum state of the particles involved when the balls are tumbling around will do.

i dont think its enough content for a question, so just a quick survey here: is there a name for the (mathematical? physical? statistical? "sciency"?) concept that predictions are more likely to be inaccurate the further they try to predict the future? like weather, etc.?
