Building on @Lynn's comment about input/outside within your numerical range: can we assume that if the formula fails only because intermediate steps exceed our numbers integer size, but would work if we had a bigger integer size, then the code is valid?

Man this is hectic at first. I've made code for three sequences and then by the time I've figured them out someone beat me to it :)

Is there a contingency plan for it? Or is the challenge over now, with the 90 answer the winner?
Jul 26, 2017 01:02
@BusinessCat I was so stoked when I thought I was solving A30
Jul 26, 2017 01:02
Current upper bounds for a(13)..a(32) ........
Jul 26, 2017 01:01
Current lower bounds for a(13)..a(32) ....
Jul 26, 2017 01:01
@BusinessCat I'm reading the part at the top, and think I agree with you
Jul 26, 2017 00:55
I'm trying to follow the formula given, and follow it as it keeps going into other sequences
Jul 26, 2017 00:53
Now to figure out what a trivalent graph is lol
Jul 26, 2017 00:49
so 92 is as well
Jul 26, 2017 00:49
didn't see that 91 was invalid
Jul 26, 2017 00:49
Sorry to the people on the OEIS challenge
Jul 21, 2017 20:40
@SocraticPhoenix Yeah, I'm lost on the "centered hydrocarbon" bit
Jul 21, 2017 18:54
@StepHen I remember feeling really cool when I realized it. Along with thinking it was cool that it was "+previous+current"
Jul 21, 2017 18:20
So not even part of my code lol
Jul 21, 2017 18:20
@StepHen It's the new $"" string formatting in .NET
Jul 21, 2017 18:18
@StepHen Didn't even think to expand the "Debug" part. That helps me
Jul 21, 2017 18:17
@StepHen Oh, like I might need to tweak the actual code a bit to demo?
Jul 21, 2017 18:17
@totallyhuman Thanks!
Jul 21, 2017 18:16
Where can I get help making a TIO for VB.NET?
Jul 21, 2017 18:16
Right sequence
Jul 21, 2017 18:16
He had the wrong text
Jul 21, 2017 17:44
@HyperNeutrino lolololol
Jul 21, 2017 17:43
Sooooo, A64, I get 3 for the third entry, not 4. Any thoughts what I'm misunderstanding?
Jul 21, 2017 17:42
lol, i don't even know what to solve anymore :P
Jul 21, 2017 17:36
@cairdcoinheringaahing Cool. I'll clean mine up just in case
Jul 21, 2017 17:35
@cairdcoinheringaahing Dang....I snooze I looze
Jul 21, 2017 17:34
Wait, I can post just my functions? Do I need the class and main etc?
Jul 21, 2017 17:33
Wait, I forgot to include sub Main()
Jul 21, 2017 17:33
@cairdcoinheringaahing At least it's not a partition?
Jul 21, 2017 17:32
It's VB.NET
Jul 21, 2017 17:32
@cairdcoinheringaahing 2481
Jul 21, 2017 17:31
How much should I golf my stuff down? I have a solution with functions and comments and spacing lol
Jul 21, 2017 17:21
@cairdcoinheringaahing I'm working on it :)
Jul 21, 2017 17:16
Can't do A70
Jul 21, 2017 17:13
noice!
Jul 21, 2017 17:10
I was thinking function while reading/writing snippet
Jul 21, 2017 17:09
@cairdcoinheringaahing Ahh....I think I'm confusing what snippet means because I don't understand magma. Thanks for the clarification :)
Jul 21, 2017 17:08
(apparently I can't click on reply buttons correctly)
Jul 21, 2017 17:07
@cairdcoinheringaahing Oh, are snippets bad for this?
Jul 21, 2017 17:06
@HyperNeutrino NumberOfPermutationGroups(n+1) ?
Jul 21, 2017 17:04
whitespace?
Jul 21, 2017 17:00
@LeakyNun * You may not post twice (or more) in a row.
Jul 21, 2017 16:57
@HyperNeutrino It has (MAGMA) [NumberOfPrimitiveGroups(i) : i in [1..999]]; in the description, but that sounds like bad form
Jul 21, 2017 16:15
@Mayube I think this is a pretty good example of a partition. projecteuler.net/problem=78
Jul 21, 2017 16:13
@Mr.Xcoder Now that's a nice leaderboard!
Jul 21, 2017 16:13
@Mayube No worries. I would have been lost without that comment in the OEIS though
Jul 21, 2017 16:12
COMMENTS
a(n) = number of partitions of n with even rank minus number with odd rank. The rank of a partition is its largest part minus the number of parts.
Jul 21, 2017 16:10
"with even rank minus number with odd rank"
Jul 21, 2017 16:10
I'm ok with the partitions, it's the next part of the definition I'm struggling with.
