hi. I never really coded in C but I have learned how to. Lately, I had the need for speed ;-) and jumped back on the C train. I even used thread and the pcap library. It wasn't as hard I thought after all. My code runs fine. I am just looking for some code review. Not a thorough one. No need to dive in the deatils unless it's needed. I just would like somone take a quick glance of 5 to 15 minutes of my 1000 LLOC.

Apr 14, 2019 12:59

Mar 22, 2019 13:55

Mar 22, 2019 13:36
hi. using adwaita-dark, I got a unreadable download bar in chromium. Can anyone confirm this before I open a bug report ? imgur.com/a/dFOA7Ew
Feb 16, 2019 13:34
you compile from source what is not officialy supported
Feb 16, 2019 13:34
archlinux is not that a source based distro. you downloaded binary package like apt does. it's not gentoo or sourcemage or wahtever
Feb 16, 2019 13:18
@JacobVlijm yes. I was expecting someone pointing me to a good reason to stay
Feb 16, 2019 13:14
hi. so I installed ubuntu a long time ago because I couldn't bare gnome shell or wanted to switch back to kde. I wanted unity. now that unity is gone and that gnome shell is a little better, there is nothing left to hold me back in ubuntu ? isn't it ? so do I go back to archlinux or not ?
Nov 26, 2018 09:38

Nov 26, 2018 09:34

Nov 26, 2018 09:26

Nov 9, 2018 22:35
a 16.4K rep user whining for 10 points reputations, really ?
Nov 9, 2018 22:34
askubuntu.com/questions/1091507/… So I got an accept apparently and someone whines about doing more effort and whatever but never provides an answer, then copy mine. and bam. no accept. Cool.
Nov 3, 2018 09:27
hi. I woul dlike to demote a ser form admin to regular user but still let her do the updates as usual. With the GUI prompt, asking her to do the upgrades, and so on. Is this doable with a set of sudo rules ? What command program should I allow ? Shoud I ask on askubuntu.com ? Is it already answered there ?
Oct 24, 2018 14:27
yes the fix was bacbported
Oct 24, 2018 14:25
ok. it's a bug github.com/curl/curl/issues/2736 it's fixed in curl 0.76.1 which fixes a CVE by the way. so why does ubuntu does not have the 0.76.1 version. did they backported the fix for the CVE vulneraiblity ?
Oct 24, 2018 14:07
in gnome-terminal ? in ucrl ?
Oct 24, 2018 14:07
hi again. curl -I <someurl> is filled with double underscore here ? do you have that too ? is it a bug ? in ubuntu ?
Oct 24, 2018 12:05
hi. Did you noticed ? When I upgraded from 18.04 the screen lock was disabled automatically by the installer. Is it related to the bug I encoutered when upgrading from 17.10 to 18.04 where I couldn't log in in back again once the stratup process had started and came back, unable to login in again ?
Sep 12, 2018 08:16
I mean chromium
Sep 12, 2018 08:13
Do ubuntu changed the default for the most hated "Omnibox UI Hide Steady-State URL Scheme and Trivial Subdomains" feature in chrome/ium 69 ? because I see the www subdomain and the scheme. the option is set on default which seems to be neither enabled or enabled ?
Sep 12, 2018 08:11
@Fabby yes the short test work. this time. the long test is in progress thanks to my trick I guess
Sep 12, 2018 07:03
ok. So I am doing while true; do sleep 5m; smartctl -i /dev/sdc; done in the hope to keep it alive during the test
Sep 12, 2018 06:59
hi. I am trying to make smart self long test. but I don't know why it is aborted at 20% (reason being aborted by host ???). I don't understand the drive tayed up all night after I done a shred on the disk (and to get bad block reallocated). so why ubuntu/kenrel power it down now in the middle of a self long test ? how can I prevent that ?

hi. I have a question and don't what to post yet on the iste for that. I have a list of "signals" owith checkboxes that user can select to draw on a chart. I want a way to enable the user to choose if that signal will be drawn on the right axis or left on the left axis as default. I don't want to add another checkbox for that. What could be a better ui for that ?
