I don't know what it is, but there is a special joy in drunkenly playing video games while the rest of the family is asleep...
Dec 18, 2015 17:16
@Powerlord I just want an elvis operator, like Groovy
Dec 18, 2015 17:15
I think half of the problem is that the Java community is overly verbose. Frameworks on top of frameworks.
Dec 18, 2015 17:15
Java 8 at least gave us a functional syntax that gets rid of quite a bit of the pointless verbosity
Dec 18, 2015 17:14
I am living in Java verbosity as we speak
Dec 18, 2015 17:13
@Powerlord ............neat
Dec 18, 2015 17:10
I've never really worked in perl, I just hear about it and occasionally cringe
Dec 18, 2015 17:09
@badp I get the sense that perl is a fun language to write things in and a terrible language to maintain things in.
Dec 17, 2015 05:48
Seems like a bad idea for a series drenched in camp...
Dec 16, 2015 16:38
I recently reorganized my Steam categories. It was ridiculous. I wish Steam would stop making me buy all these games...
Dec 16, 2015 15:49
@Yuuki Oh, yeah, I'm enjoying the game a lot, it's just got the usual Bethesda list of stuff that irritates me
Dec 16, 2015 15:48
Maybe it's nostalgia, or maybe it's realism vs fantasy, but I enjoyed the graphics in skyrim much more
Dec 16, 2015 15:47
What really bugs me is that I have FO4 maxed out, but it still randomly decides to use the super low res textures at random times. So you'll just suddenly come across objects that are big grey blurs
Dec 16, 2015 15:46
Yeah, I keep seeing people talking about how beautiful fallout 4 is, but it honestly doesn't look that great to me. The world design is nice, but the textures are just meh.
Dec 15, 2015 21:00
@murgatroid99 [citation needed]
Dec 15, 2015 21:00
@fredley Vegas should take bets on the next JS framework to be declared the "big thing"
Dec 15, 2015 20:59
@MadMAxJr Angular was only the future for 6 months in 2014
Dec 15, 2015 20:58
We'll all be writing Java Swing apps in a couple years
Dec 15, 2015 20:58
@Sterno Didn't you know, it's a fad
Dec 15, 2015 20:56
@MadMAxJr Necronomicon is in perl I think
Dec 14, 2015 22:28
Seems like it could be challenging to figure out how to help people without just feeding answers to the lazy
Dec 14, 2015 22:26
How much of it is people asking for help with their homework?
Dec 14, 2015 21:15
Stop playing fallout and start playing winterbash
Dec 14, 2015 21:14
Guys, why aren't we higher on the hats leaderboard? LaTeX should not be ahead of us in hats.
Dec 11, 2015 22:55
ah, yeah, reading about this now. It started out as real time, and they couldn't leave the first area until they switched to "turn-based"
Dec 11, 2015 22:54
I remember hearing about that when it was first a thing, and they could barely do anything. Did they change the rules or something?
Dec 11, 2015 22:53
wait, they beat dark souls?
Dec 10, 2015 21:16
It's hard to maintain your integrity when your rabid fanbase throws money at every re-release and port you feel like putting out there
Dec 10, 2015 19:20
We don't need it, but we probably do deserve what we're getting out of our political circus
Dec 10, 2015 19:20
I think it's actually the other way around
Dec 8, 2015 22:56
@Unionhawk I DEMAND THAT YOU DO THE THING YOU SORT OF WANT TO DO!
Dec 2, 2015 00:00
@badp I think "high efficiency" refers more to the amount of water used?
Dec 1, 2015 23:57
@TimS. We put a little baking soda in with most loads and that does it for us
Dec 1, 2015 17:55
Even if your pipe is fast, you're only going to get the speed of the worst wire in the route
Dec 1, 2015 16:46
You're welcome.
Dec 1, 2015 16:46
Guys, I know you've been waiting for someone to play 24 hours of non-stop Prince music, and I'm here to tell you that it's finally happening. blog.thecurrent.org/2015/12/…
Dec 1, 2015 16:14
@StrixVaria Heyo. I've been lurking a bit lately
Nov 25, 2015 19:22
@TimStone The scathing comments on all the big data ones are what make this great.
Nov 25, 2015 17:05
Completionists' nightmare basically
Nov 25, 2015 17:04
I almost closed it before I realized how huge it is
Nov 25, 2015 17:04
Has anyone else checked out today's XKCD?
Nov 24, 2015 20:10
@twobugs The tower one?
Nov 24, 2015 20:10
The idea isn't flawed per se. You're trading a long-term large payoff for a short-term small payoff. But when the long-term payoff is never going to happen, then it starts getting morally questionable
Nov 24, 2015 20:08
Alternately, sell the questionable debt to another company for a fraction of its "worth", and let them take the hit when the person defaults.
Nov 24, 2015 20:04
That exact thing, happening to thoudands and thousands of people, was largely responsible for the last US recession
Nov 24, 2015 19:13
But that's what the question is asking, so any answer should probably answer that.
Nov 24, 2015 19:13
I don't know if that's true.
Nov 24, 2015 19:12
how about "Companion affinity is the only criteria that triggers these quests"?
Dec 12, 2013 18:03
Hey, which one of you broke GoG?
Nov 11, 2013 18:20
I'm sure that sort of stuff will just happen more and more as state and corporate-sponsored hacking gains popularity
