I saw it's mod election time and just wanted to pop in and wish everyone luck and thank you all for volunteering.

Pointing out a possible way to make the code better, but admitting to lacking the skill to do so doesn’t make a question unreviewable. Reviewers are free to ignore that request.

@t3chb0t any insight?

Q: Use math to project price rather than a loop

PPannI have to project the price for a publicly traded contract when the price should be approximately matching the targeted profit or loss. I have written the following code, runs under 0.02ms.. could be a faster and could be a bit more elegant as the code will get slower progressively depending on t...

I really don’t understand why this was closed.

Can’t seem to get single $s to render inline.
Aug 17, 2019 20:57
Hey @Mast isn’t an in-line formula just $x=y$?

@MathieuGuindon I legit can't tell you how much I wished I'd seen that years ago when we (you tbh) were fighting with the resolver all the time.
Feb 4, 2021 15:05
Wish I had read this years ago.
Feb 4, 2021 15:05
I've been working through this book for reasons, and stumbled across this.

@MathieuGuindon gotchya. Cool
Aug 25, 2020 14:00
Good to see you too!
Aug 25, 2020 13:30
Also, new faces in here! Hi!
Aug 25, 2020 13:29
Hey @MathieuGuindon I just got a github email about them deprecating auth via query params. I’m guessing we’re using it to check for newer versions?
May 22, 2020 16:33
So you guys heard the news.
May 21, 2020 15:53
Yeah, blessing & a curse, but all Rust is staticly linked (for now at least)
May 21, 2020 15:53
That’s my big motivator too. I’m a dumb human who can’t write memory or thread safe C/C++.
May 21, 2020 15:33
@this because I whole heartedly believe it’s the future of systems programming. I do a lot of low level stuff at work, so it has my interest.
May 21, 2020 14:50
Oh yeah it is.
May 21, 2020 11:31
@FreeMan y’all are still in my heart. I miss everyone, just doing other things these days.
May 21, 2020 11:30
@FreeMan hey there!
May 21, 2020 09:58
The header is more secure anyway, but yeah.
May 21, 2020 09:56
Hey @MathieuGuindon. Did you get the email about query param auth being deprecated from GitHub?
Mar 2, 2020 18:04
@FreeMan more or less. Just no VBA these days.
Mar 2, 2020 13:18
@FreeMan howdy! How are ya!
Mar 1, 2020 16:31
@Vogel612 Rust is 100% ready for production if you have an OS under you. Great choice IMO. We've talked about using it to speed up some image processing.
Mar 1, 2020 16:30
Right Mat?
Mar 1, 2020 16:25
Oddly enough, I've been working with C# and WPF for the better part of the last year at work.
Mar 1, 2020 16:24
For embedded that is.
Mar 1, 2020 16:24
It's.... not quite there for production yet.
Mar 1, 2020 16:24
Been spending a lot of time contributing to the Rust community lately.
Mar 1, 2020 16:23
@Vogel612 I built a beer vending machine. So, there's that.
Mar 1, 2020 16:17
Hey @Vogel612!
Mar 1, 2020 16:17
How’ve you been btw?
Mar 1, 2020 16:17
Nah. Leave me there just in case you get hit by a bus. I’m just not going to subscribe to all the issues & stuff.
Mar 1, 2020 15:56
You have my email, right? Just in case you ever need something.
Mar 1, 2020 15:56
Hey @MathieuGuindon. I wanted to let you know that I’m going to stop following issues. I’ve been quietly reading a lot of them the last few years, but find myself doing so less and less.
Aug 31, 2019 10:12
@this best cosplay ever.
Aug 31, 2019 02:04
We’re using gRPC at work to make Full Framework libraries available to a UWP app. (Hardware vendors are stuck in 2007)
Aug 31, 2019 02:02
Not saying that is or isn’t a good idea. Just tossing it out there.
Aug 31, 2019 02:02
gRPC could’ve a legitimately faster solution and could be tailored to the existing interfaces.
Aug 31, 2019 02:00
@MathieuGuindon yes. Which is why I think a PoC and solid plan for migration (if y’all think it’s a good idea) would be critical.
Aug 31, 2019 01:57
@MathieuGuindon likely.
Aug 31, 2019 01:56
There is a single UI thread in every windows desktop application. In order to redraw the screen (or tell WPF to update the screen) you have to Marshall to the UI thread to do it.
Aug 31, 2019 01:53
I shouldn’t have used the word “message pump”.
Aug 31, 2019 01:52
I’m tied up for a few weeks, but I’m putting the lang server half of this on my todo list. I’m not able to do the work to hook it up though.
Aug 31, 2019 01:50
Some of them do.
Aug 17, 2019 20:51
@MathieuGuindon not much. Had a few minutes to review some code and figured I’d pop by.
