Q: Etiquette: Review request for a tag that I think should be removed

tommcdoI have a queued review request for the count tag. At the time of writing, this tag has 3 questions -- one with an accepted answer, one that's marked as a duplicate of the former, and one for which the tag doesn't really seem appropriate. Frankly, I think there is not much else to ask related to ...

Q: What's difference between ex and ex-mode tags?

kenorbThere are two tags ex and ex-mode. However I'm not quite sure what's the difference? Is ex indicates the command-line (ex tool), and ex-mode means working in Ex mode (vim -E)? Isn't it the same? If it is, should we remove questions from ex and stick to ex-mode only? As far as I remember, I ha...

Q: Redirect vim.stackexchange.com to vi.stackexchange.com

DemetriSomeone who looks for a Stack Exchange website about Vim may type vim.stackexchange.com directly into the URL bar of their browser. This will get an unhelpful page saying that no such Stack Exchange site exists. Since Vi and Vim Stack Exchange does exist, I propose that the former redirect to the...

Q: <KBD> combo normalization

SukminderShould we enforce, by edit when we see it, a normalized <kbd>-combo norm? Examples of how it is used are: Altv Alt+v Alt+v Alt + v Alt + V … Of those I favor number five, four being second. Assuming it is clear one do not mean Alt + Shift + V (by the capital letter.) Is lower case better? A...

Q: Is there a simpler way to link to the help?

bsmith89Many answers (and some questions) include information from vim's builtin documentation. With this in mind, I have two questions: Is there any way to automatically link :help [key] in ...

ShahbazVimL: the debatable name for the language in which Vim scripts are written. Do questions regarding VimL belong here or to Stack Overflow? Rich@romainl has written a great summary of how to use Vim's documentation. I think this should be copied into, or at the very least linked from, the site's official help pages. Q: Capitalisation of "vi"

RichGeneral opinion seems to be that vi begins with a lower-case V, and general usage seems to be that proper names that begin with a lower-case letter should continue to do so both in title-case contexts and at the start of sentences. So shouldn't the name/headline of this site be vi and Vim?

Q: Should we have a tag to indicate a question doesn't want external tools involed - e.g. Purely Vi[m]

John O'M.A few questions explicitly ask for a solution where the editor performs the task itself without having to resort to external filters/tools.
