The way out is to use the marker you have to add a box that says 'get a marker' to the line between you and 'start', then add a 'no' line from the trap box to 'end'.

Years ago I had just that smoke in a storage room but no obvious source. I called out the fire department who used a thermal imaging camera to find a wall mounted fan control switch had released it's magic smoke.

@WesleyDavid BSO is usually a 'mountain bike' (style) with full/part suspension etc which is so loose and springy that you use more energy to the springs than you use to go forward

No, I can't support this. It's borderline topical (personally I think it's off topic). The correct thing to do it get out, stay out, get the fire department out. Spending 2 hours in a toxic environment when something is overheating is plain stupid and we shouldn't be encouraging it. At the risk of being controversial the OP should have been advised to get a professional firefighter. — Iain 11 mins ago

@Iain I helped a guy here assemble his new 'Tesco Matterhorn' BSO a couple of days ago.

The new wheels were so out of true there was about 5mm of lateral travel on one each rotation.
