Seems like SE might be intending to keep politics. I don't think Robert would have bothered to write out an answer like the one here if they were planning on getting rid of the site:
I'm see a whole lot of comments being deleted in this SE site compared to most of the rest. I can only offer my opinion, but I find that a turn off. Politics is going to naturally be a chatty area of SE and the chattiness helps inform a lot of the answers, IMHO. Thoughts?
Agreed that this is a good sign. That's pretty much the only reason I'm still watching politics. Since they started about the same time as us, our stats are easy to compare, and gives us some indication of where we stand. If they aren't getting shut down yet, I doubt we would be any time soon.
@Eric I think SE will give sites a chance even if they have some problems at 90 days, but are working on them. It's hard for an outsider like me to tell whether they're making progress with their internal issues, but there are some indications of it. Anyway I think they are still ready on the kill button (and TBH probably on ours as well), but they won't be pressing it until it's clear the site isn't viable.
I don't think they're as hot on our heels as Politics. We're still increasing in traffic and we have "Okay"s in 3 categories. (One should even be "Excellent".)
I wish we could get our 200+ count up, though. Seeing two greens and a red is a bit sad.
Yeah. Sadly, at the rate of 1 new avid user every 2 days, it'll take a while to hit 150. But I don't think that's a bad thing. I think few betas are complete at 90 days.

SAC is a different continuity. GitS 2.0 Innocence is a sequel to the original GitS.
@Eric It is a good translation. But the Japanese name is stupid. Even Japanese people call it Ghost in the Shell now because it's so much cooler sounding.
@LoganM I just mean, "Ghost in the Shell" is nowhere near a transliteration of "Mobile Armored Riot Police". I agree it's better, but it's not really a "good translation".
I'm not actually sure of the origin of the name "Ghost in the Shell". That's probably a good main-site question. It's an official subtitle of the Japanese version now, and it was the title when GitS was first brought to theaters in the US. But I can't figure out where it originated. It could be Japanese origin or western origin.
Are there any other manga/anime series similar to SAO? I've seen Accel World of course, and .Hack. I an interested in seeing/reading another series where characters are in/trapped in a game, can view some sort of menu/UI.

Unless we can find a way to make the videos autoplay when you open the chatroom, it'll never be browser genocide to the same level as Thrills and Spills. So no need.
@LoganM technically we'd have to actually embed the video in chat first since right now all it's doing is taking the youtube thumbnail image and attaching a link to the video from it
