@JourneymanGeek Interesting. I noticed Firefox stable release versions are different between apt and snap. 131.0 and 131.0-1 respectively. For now I will run the apt version which is not sandboxed or has the "Firefox Busy Error" and live life "Happily ever after" 😂.
I can only hope snaps will be more reliable in the future.
Or ubuntu drops it, like many of their non standard things :D

Anyone know if there are still upgrade problems from 22.04 to 24.04 - and in that case, does it affect Ubuntu Server - or is it desktop only issues? 🤔

@ArturMeinild there are always going to be issues with upgrades if you aren't using only Ubuntu software on systems. Or if you have things that need older versions of software that're no longer available in newer Ubuntu for whatever reasons. The vast majority of known issues I believe are gone, but you should read through 24.04 and 24.04.1 release notes to see if there's any actual major issues still existing
@stumblebee because Mozilla is the one pushing hard for Snapped versions in Ubuntu
in fact they tried to push that during the 22.04 release cycle to make it default but that landed way late in the cycle so we (developers) all pushed back about it
@JourneymanGeek so you're volunteering to be the punching bag? :P
lol
I was telling him not to punch himself :D
if not himself then who :P
generally no one
thus the "so you're volunteering" :P
we could have @nobody punched? :D

just messing, you lined yourself up perfectly for that one though xD
tbf, I'm a little distracted. I started on one thing and I"m about 4 sidequests deep
@JourneymanGeek you're good that's me on an average monday
i'm currently 26 quests deep
and three side quests (Food, Coffee, Clothing) past that
I just rebuilt the router for the other place (mostly), pondering rebuilding the router at my parents place, I have a unholy temporary build I'm slightly fightened to boot up...
my cooler got lost. I forgot to check the height for the replacement... so I sorta jerryrigged something

@ThomasWard Thanks, I'll take a look! 👍

@JourneymanGeek workplace uses virtualized Sophos appliances and a single server running pfSense (1U supermicro we had lying around) for one of the other networks. My home uses a virtualized pfSense (on a Proxmox VE on a SFF Protectli device with other VMs!) with an Ubiquity switch. Parents use the bog-standard Comcast gateway because their phone runs through Comcast, but their wifi is two Ubiquity APs (one's on wireless bridge as an extender)
Oh I run ubuntu :D
@JourneymanGeek take a good look to my current avatar picture before you make such offers :D
adguard home (dns) kea (dhcp), firewalld (firewall) and cockpit (webui for the firewall and in theory I can manage everything centrally from one box)

Q: New to Ubuntu, a bit overwhelmed by help from "Ask Ubuntu" "Ubuntu in Launchpad" and Ubuntu Pro

Chris SmithI've been able to get previous versions of Ubuntu to work in a dual boot capacity before. I've also gotten Linux Mint to work successfully so I have some experience installing and using operating systems other than Windows. Bottom line up front: I experienced several failed attempts to install 24...
