It's under zero now so people with the ability to delete vote can do so if they think that's the right course

12:38 AM
Might have happened once
Not sure if that’s sufficient
If not I have a world star class friend who can help

Hi

3:12 PM
What major breakthroughs are we working on
Stun me, wow me, floor me
Hit me with that ol’ hot sauce

3:23 PM
on a Sunday

3:45 PM
Annoyingly, the abbreviation for msTVF interleaved execution is "IE"
I can't read it without thinking, "Internet Explorer"

i don't understand why ms isn't worthy of capitalization in that acronym

Habit. They capitalise it at least sometimes
> Fixes an issue where interleaved execution for multi-statement table-valued functions (MSTVFs) uses the OPTIMIZE FOR query hint value and returns an incorrect result on the first execution when the runtime constant value is different from the OPTIMIZE FOR query hint value. After you apply this fix, the interleaved execution will check the OPTIMIZE FOR query hint in all cases to avoid using the OPTIMIZE FOR query hint value on the first execution.

it would be more clear if they were called table variable functions
since that's what they return
a lot of people tell me they're already using the (good) table valued functions when they're using those instead

TVTVFs?
I don't 100% agree that's clearer
Maybe a syntax change would make it clearer
CREATE INLINE TABLE FUNCTION...
Some people say that naming things is hard
So perhaps it's not worth trying

Is this just like the Execution Plan Plus debacle again

4:19 PM
Nothing will ever be that dumb again

What do you call a bear with no teeth?
a gummy bear.

Looks like I was wrong

5:15 PM
@PaulWhite no just table variable functions
And then (in-line) table valued functions
Wow autocorrect stuck a hyphen in there
@HannahVernon grand daddy

5:43 PM
@HannahVernon Interested 🤔

5:57 PM
@J.D. see this

6:18 PM
@HannahVernon How large is the fee and where can I subscribe?

@HannahVernon ah gotcha thanks lol.

@ErikDarling Wrong results, and it also gets an extra scan of the base table dbfiddle.uk/Bu97QJ5M

@Charlieface the results matched the query you sent me. I know the query plan is a mess. That’s why my second sentence was the ~dizzy~ emoji.

For clarity, ordering by t2.id doesn't work either dbfiddle.uk/8QcPeCH4
