So far we've been great at redistributing votes, the only one with >10 is sort of functioning as a "i want to waste my votes :3" trap so people can get that out of their systems
Oh hang on, we do have some closed highly voted ones, so closer to 100
@Ginger Huh, I'm sure I've heard this room name before, but it's never been used in the history of SE chat
Proposal: Programming Language Design
We've currently got a lot of questions formatted as "should I/my language [...]", such as:
Should I have the concept of a "statement" distinct from a expression? Why or why not?
Should types be a first class value?
Should my language have a type for single c...
I almost self-answered with "no", but I kinda convinced myself out of it since I realized "should" isn't actually all that subjective, just dependent on specific circumstances
I don't think it's fully clear, but that could be fixed with a question body, and I think it's an interesting and general-enough question to be worth asking
The side arguing for "only speculation being possible" is clearly wrong by their own admission but so condescending about how they assert they're right
Proposal: Programming Language Design
Why did language choose to have feature , a currently closed question, has spawned a long discussion in its comments about whether or not this sort of question should be on-topic (currently 20 comments, though most of that is pointless running in circles ove...
Quick CMM: Should "and Implementation" be in our site name or is that too long?
I mean "Programming Puzzles and Code Golf" isn't exactly short either but...
"Programming Language Design"/PLD is a lot shorter than "Programming Language Design and Implementation"/PLDI
"Programming Language Development" encompasses both I guess, but I don't really like it as much
We could make "Programming Language Design and Implementation" the name but keep the "and Implementation" part in small font under it in the logo, and just call it PLD/"Programming Language Design" informally
@RadvylfPrograms Anyone able to throw an extra RO vote this way?
@user Probably the person from the comment thread that I called "pointless running in circles over terminology", and who edited that out, which I rolled back
