Q: Facebook and Twitter links disappear ungracefully

LSpiceI am using Safari 16.1 on macOS 12.6. The invitation to "Share a link to this question" appears for me like this: I assume that the Twitter and Facebook links are not showing because of some ad-blocking extension, and I'm fine with that, but: Why? They are just links, and the link to share the...

Here on MO, there was suggestion to get rid of this: Why do we link to Twitter, Facebook or Google+ below every question?
On Meta StackOverflow there was a question asking whether a user has an option to hide the links for themself: Hide the social media links: "Share a link to Google+, Twitter, or Facebook"
Apparently, at some point in 2017, a different version was tried: What is this “Can you help?” message above the answer box?
^ To me, the links are displayed. Windows, Google Chrome - Version 107.0.5304.88 (Official Build) (64-bit).
@LSpice Do you happen to run some extensions or some ad blocker - see this post on Meta Stack Exchange: Too many commas in the social network share text.

Q: Too many commas in the social network share text

SpirineThe bug appears, with my account, in every post that haven't any answer yet. At the bottom just above the "Your Answer" section, I always see: Know someone who can answer? Share a link to this question via email, , , or . In my mind, there should be a link to share to Twitter, Facebook, o...

A: Too many commas in the social network share text

OdedThis isn't a bug we can fix, given you are running an ad blocker that is blocking the bits you are missing. Either the ad blocker needs to fix its blocking lists, or you need to stop using it ;)

This question is similar: Know someone who can answer? Share list broken. And there are a few related questions linked there: meta.stackexchange.com/q/linked

Q: Know someone who can answer? Share list broken

Ben JacksonThe list has several empty strings in it for me right now:

A: Know someone who can answer? Share list broken

animusonNo it's not - it's a new AdBlock filter that apparently pushed recently: [title="Share with others"], [title="Submit this post on newsvine.com."], [title="Submit this post on reddit.com."], [title="Submit to Digg"], [title="Subscribe by Facebook"], [title="Subscribe by Twitter"], [title="Thumb t...

kenorbDisable Adblock Plus (or any other ad blocker plugin), use different profile (e.g. Incognito in Chrome) or use different web browser. You can also add Stack Exchange sites into Whitelisted domain list. You can add a domain either via the Adblock Plus icon in the address bar or by typing the ...

@MartinSleziak Yep! I actually mention it in the post. I also mention that it's quite fine with me that this happens; I don't need or particularly want to see those links. It's more that it seems like a bug (in the sense that things aren't working as intended, even if it's because of interactions with a wildly commonly used system rather than because of coder error) that someone might want to fix; but if everyone's happy with it, then it certainly causes me no grief.

Sorry, I did not notice that part:
> I assume that the Twitter and Facebook links are not showing because of some ad-blocking extension, and I'm fine with that,
I see that I posted a wrong link - the list of linked questions was suppose to be this link: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/linked/214355
@LSpice Still, perhaps you might include a link to the Meta Stack Exchange post. Especially considering that it has a response from staff - so in that sense it can be considered an official response.
Although, the main post doesn't have any "status" tag- only one of the duplicates.

Q: Adblock Plus removing text below unanswered questions

user3195417I understand the reason for the massively negative feedback to this question. It's not a Stack Exchange bug, I agree. I don't care about the bug, I just wanted to draw attention to it. I thought SE would be a more pleasant place to be if a little workaround was implemented. I thought the SE commu...

@MartinSleziak No worries! I always appreciate your vast store of knowledge and, especially, your familiar with the broader SE world into which I durst not venture. It seems like this may not be a duplicate on MO, so I can't close it as such, but I tried to update the post with the relevant information. However, even better would be if you would be willing to post some or all of this information as an answer, so I can accept it and get the post out of the unanswered queue.
(Is that a thing also on MMO?)

In this case, the "vast store of knowledge" doesn't come into play.
The only difference is that I was actually willing to search a bit.

@MartinSleziak Well, sure. There's nothing wrong with one's vast store of knowledge being stored somewhere else. As I say, I don't like to venture into the broader SE world.

I don't think that my answer would add anything to the stuff you've already mentioned in the question - I will leave it to other users, if somebody wants to post an answer there. If nothing else, it is a way to get closer to those shiny tag badges.
Perhaps it is not exactly the case of this question - but sometimes from MO users I get the vibe: "We're not willing to read the documentation." (Of course, if it sounds nice when phrased like you did.)
There are some plainly incorrect answer from mods.

That's certainly fair in my case; I am more than guilty of using MMO as live documentation. Indeed, most of the time it is you answering.
And, if you find the question inappropriate, I won't take it all amiss if you downvote. (That seems to be the fate especially of one of the questions you linked.)

Or the recent question about shows that the users discussing this did not know how it works. (And the some is true about some older questions about migrations - I remember at least one.)

I think I may know the comment you mean—perhaps there it is a matter of a new moderator learning the ropes?

I definitely seen several answers with incorrect claims - not only from newish mods.
Sorry for the digression.

No worries. I admit, hang-doggishly if necessary, that I'm certainly not going to take to reading Meta.SE, though perhaps this slightly sharper reprimand will remind me to search there before asking a question. But I will still prefer to receive my wisdom live from more experienced users, and I am always glad to hear what you have to say.

@LSpice I am much more likely to upvote - since you were willing to include links to related stuff into your question. (But so far I did not vote on that question. But if you at my profile, you can see that I do not dish too out many downvotes.
In any case, see you later. And thanks for including the links to Meta Stack Exchange!

Anyway one shouldn't be too ~precious~ worried (poor word choice there) about downvotes, especially on the Meta sites where my understanding is that they are used to express disagreement, broadly understood, not necessarily disapproval as on the main site.

Well, if downvotes are supposed to be used to as disagreement - it is up to the MO users to say whether they agree or not; not for an outsider like me.

Sure! Thank you for pointing them out to me! Good night, if it's night for you!

For me, it is early morning: Bratislava, Slovakia.
