I know the purpose of Winter Bash is to create more interaction during the holidays, but I wonder if this could harm the site

It could lead to information overload where a lot of time is spent discussing trivial stuff (to do with Winter Bash), but not on site policy

I got the Spotting Scope without general flagging, and I doubt that I was first to flag for closure; certainly not 3 times. It just showed up all of a sudden, when I hadn't done anything the past hour, so maybe an hourly (slow) script needed to run?
