In reviews, there is a reco delete reason 'this is link only answer'. What should I do though, if it does answer the question and is also the only answer??
@fbueckert They do answer the question, they're just discouraged by SE due to link rot issues. In this case, the link works and there is no other answer posted.
@murgatroid99 Certainly agree with that; as well as other issues like spamming SEO links etc. ... link rot is just the common factor cited in comments to such answers :p
@Alok Link rot is the most obvious reason, but I would say that the most important one is that with a link only answer, the answer to the question is still not on the page
Just got a bit confused in this case as I'd rather have some partially useful answer than none at all; but upon investigation that was not the case
@fbueckert In MSO, there's been talk of how people should not post lmgtfy links for idiots who ask super obvious questions. lmgtfy = let me google that for you (site)
@Alok I would prefer that we have the same understanding of the rules (especially ones as clear cut as link-only answers) before going out and enforcing them, but OK if you want to drop it then I'll drop it
@Alok I would actually say that that is a good time to delete a bad answer because if there is an answer it discourages other people from answering and sets an example in a very visible way
@Alok I don't do this here, but on SO I am less likely to even look at a question if it already has answers because it looks like my contribution is unnecessary

generally you could take it before you had the tech to turn your planets into the same thing, also taking it awarded bonus techs that you couldn't otherwise get, and a few somewhat random free techs
its a big deal in the game, taking orion. it doesnt gaurantee victory, but it helped ALOT

At the race creation area, you have a certain number of points to allocate towards bonuses for your race. This is the only way to unlock some specific research trees. Granted, they cost a lot, but they were usually worth it.
With games like MoO, MoM and so many other old classics - I really wish one of the many sinking studios would stop trying to write the latest POS sinker, buy rights to good games and just 'remaster' them for latest hardware keeping same gameplay
