Redwall books are still good novels and I am stubborn and want to reread as much as possible
they have a formula, and they execute the formula pretty well. (The formula is goodbeasts go on quests and fight vermin, with a good amount of songs, riddles, poems, and food porn).
Plus they have the big advantage that the school library has all of 'em
Redwall has a problem with stereotyping even the "good" species that are not mice
e.g. there is exactly one literate mole who speaks in "refined" dialect (like mice), and he has to prove his moleness by dropping into the mole dialect
Badgers either are motherly and caring or hard warriors that go into berserk rages. (sometimes they get to be both depending on the time. also guess how gender roles factor into that)
@AncientSwordRage @bobble I also recommend Bell Songs by rpgnatalie. A (GMless) game of animal adventure in the vein of Redwall, Mouse Guard, or Watership Down. You will need: 1-3 friends, some six sided dice, and something to write with.
It has a downtime mechanic where you can decide to have a feast.
I do not have 1-3 friends to play with (since current group is busy with another game) :( or, for that matter, access to $17 online, since my mom is the gatekeeper of my bank account
Bell Songs doesn't go that deep into representation; when you do something to resolve a threat or obstacle, the other players tell you how they think it resolves. If you want to veto their decision, you roll to get success, success with complication (decided by another player) or failure with hope (decided by another player).
The question body said wizard and asked about a wizard only spell. Xanar is obviously a wizard.
@Akixkisu I’ve seen several users now suggest you hold off on adding simulacrum tags, and you’re the only who seems to support it. Do I need to make a meta, or can we hold off for a bit?
@Akixkisu why did you vtc this as a dupe? It isn’t even remotely the same question.
@Akixkisu 12 hours ago you left a passive aggressive edit comment about how the score was flipped the other way. Yes, meta moves slowly. But that issue hasn't settled yet.
