> Cave Johnson : Those of you who volunteered to be injected with praying Pig DNA, I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is we're postponing those tests indefinitely. Good news is we've got a much better test for you: fighting an army of pig men. Pick up a rifle and follow the yellow line. You'll know when the test starts.
@BradC and either way Trump will use it to push how he was cheated
GOP Wins = see, we was supposed to have win Georgia, this is proof it was rigged Dem Wins = see, even the senate elections were rigged
They had three needles for the Presidential election this year which means that scientifically this election is 2/3 as important as that one, of course
> Dave is more aggressive than most people who make election calls, though he’s saying what a lot of Election Twitter is thinking, even though I wouldn’t expect the networks to make a call any time soon. Note, however, that this pertains to the Warnock race, and Ossoff is still underperforming Warnock by around 0.8 points, so even if you think the Warnock race is in the bag for Democrats, that’s just one of the two they need.
@TimStone So obviously he wanted someone that is seen as independent and non-partisan. The big question is now whether he wanted that to grant a potential prosecution of Trump more legitimacy, or to avoid any prosecution in the first place
I mean, I absolutely think Trump has to be prosecuted or the rule of law won't mean much anymore. There must be consequences for these actions. But I also think that prosecuting the former administration is a really dangerous thing to do, if it appears at all political (which is exactly what Trump has been trying to do).
@Nzall Incitement has a pretty strict criteria, if it's not like an immediate call to action then people have time to realise he's dumb and not do it so it becomes not his fault
lol Trump said earlier he'd walk with them to the Capitol and then got in a motorcade and left
The Capitol Police should have been more prepared, but it's relevant that they're typically backed up by federal forces which, you know, are directed by the guy who did the incitement
DC has no unilateral authority to call in the National Guard because it's not a state, for instance
@Vogel612 Unfortunately, the whole system was put together with the assumption that the participants would have the best interests of democracy at heart
There was no provision for nearly half the country wanting fascism
Oh shit
There's someone on the steps telling everyone to get their guns and put a stop to things
@Unionhawk I mean I don't think they think the prospect of the crowd doing violence to them is good even if they like that the crowd is typically supportive of their violence
Like they're still cops but they're not in control which is not ideal, for cops
> Pro-Trump protesters entered the Capitol building and engaged with riot police as Congress held a joint session to count the Electoral College votes which would clear the path to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration later this month.
> One person was shot amid the melee, according to The Associated Press and NBC News. The Senate recessed its Electoral College debate on Wednesday afternoon after protesters outside of the Capitol building forced a lockdown. Vice President Mike Pence was evacuated from the building.
@Unionhawk The only reason they're being sent out now is that someone finally convinced Trump that it was going to look really, really bad if he didn't call them out
Speaking of senseless violence, if I lived in DC I'd be getting the hell out of Dodge before the 6th. I'm afraid (thanks to Trump's incitement) that day is going to be deadly. https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/local/protests/trump-supporters-rally-protest-january-6-maga-protest/65-2639563a-b04e-4a40-a028-23083673d46b
> These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!
Can't help but notice the difference in this curfew enforcement versus the anti violence and BLM ones. You know, when people were tear gassed on their front steps.
@Robotnik It definitely does.
Looks like they're finally starting to get enforce it
