Q: Is publicist degree honored according to one shared question or many?

vgv8In comments to question What is the difference between 20$ and $20? Michael Mrozek informed about publicist badge that: You have to get 1000 unique IP views in 5 days (vgv8 - this is the link to a list of publicists); this post only has 378 views total (who knows how many are...

this question was edited, but it previously said “I cannot ask in meta.stackoverflow.com since I was banned there, see my vgv8 profile there, half year ago without any explanations and warning.”

Oh yes… I remember that.

FX_
@PLL moderators can put users in a “penalty box” for some time
it's a time out

FX_
argh, it's even spreading to meta! the top question there is one of his “contributions”

PLL
9:05 PM
@FX_: ah, thanks.

FX_
“The comments by @kiamlaluno are nothing more than provocation I already undergone many times before.”
like they say, “because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out there to get me” :)

Yes. He thinks that who doesn't think like him is looking for provocation.

PLL
Has the question of putting him in a penalty box been raised with the mods?

That reminds me of a joke about a driver who listens to the radio "Be careful! A crazy is driving on the wrong side!"; he says "Just one? I have found many crazy people who were driving on the wrong side of the road in the last 5 minutes".

PLL
I feel horrible for asking — but he’s really damaging the site at the moment :-/

9:09 PM
@PeterLeFanuLumsdaine: don't feel horrible
the fact that he's showing no intention at all to improve, or not desire to read what people write to him, put him himself in this position

PLL
Agreed, and that’s why I say it despite feeling mean for doing so. But I don’t like things like banning, and really wish they were never necessary… so I still feel mean for supporting them.
But in any case, do you know if it has been raised with the mods?

FX_
don't know, don't think so
it would be done here, on the chat, I suppose

PLL
Though I guess they have almost certainly thought of it already, and would probably discuss it in private rather than here?

We can start flagging his comments, when they are noise, offensive, or spam.
@PeterLeFanuLumsdaine: I found his comment that said "DRY, KISS, and DIE" very offensive.

FX_
@kiamlaluno: I flag when it's noise, I downvote when it's of low quality, I vote to close when it's off-topic

9:19 PM
The fact he linked the word to the definition of acronyms doesn't make it less offensive; the acronyms were not related with what he was saying.
@FX_: I didn't mean we should flag them as noise when they are not.

PLL
@kiamlaluno: yes, I found that rather offensive as well, though not quite enough to flag it. Maybe I should have.

@PeterLeFanuLumsdaine: I don't remember if I did; if I found that comment, I will check if I did.
Something like that cannot be forgotten.

PLL
@FX_: I vote to close when it’s noise or off-topic; I downvote when it’s any of those, or low-quality. I’m reluctant to ever flag, because I think of that as a last resort, only for very serious offensiveness (racism, etc.); though I know in .se we’re encouraged to flag a bit more liberally than on other systems.
But I don’t think it’s redundant to downvote as well as voting to close, flagging, etc. Downvoting is the one thing which impacts his rep, and so leaves a permanent message.

FX_
@kiamlaluno of course not, sorry if my sentence seemed to imply that
I was going to write another one, but needed to go urgently change my kid's diapers
I was going to add: "but with all this flagging and voting, the flow of bad questions/comments doesn't seem to go down, and it takes some time for them all to get closed/deleted"

PLL
9:35 PM
Actually, likewise I need to be heading off now. I wonder how this situation will pan out…

FX_
so, many some time out would be a good alternative, after being contacted and clearly explained the nature of the site

@PeterLeFanuLumsdaine: See you.

FX_
@PeterLeFanuLumsdaine: bye

@FX_: I agree. I was thinking that if there are a lot of flags for his comments, that would be a clear signal of what the community thinks.
It is like a vote for his comments.
For his questions, there are no problems. Flagging his comments when they need to be flagged is like voting for his comments as "off-topic".

FX_
Well, questions are still a problem; it takes time for them to be closed and/or deleted when appropriate, and we have a continuous flow of bad questions on the front page

9:39 PM
That is true.

FX_
right now, the front page has 2 closed questions among the top 5; both are his
to a newcomer, it looks bad; to a frequent visiter, it looks depressing

Yes. For a newcomer could seem like we frequently close questions.
I would not be surprised if there are users who decide to not use EL&U.

9:54 PM
I also find funny he reports he has been a US attorney. :-)
He actually says "US patent attorney".
