@PM2Ring No problem sir. I found the link very useful. And thanks a lot for answering my question and providing the link :-)
Hello sir :) @dmckee

3:31 AM
I found this interesting. Of ~300 questions closed for being "Opinion based" this year, only 1 of them was reopened. I don't really think it means anything special, just though that was interesting to note. meta.stackexchange.com/questions/341507/2019-a-year-in-closing

3:43 AM
Am I having déjà vu, or is this a repost of a deleted question from the last day or so? physics.stackexchange.com/questions/522782/…
@JMac I noticed that too. It looks like opinion based closures are rarely reopened, across the whole network, apart from a few exceptions. I guess that being "primarily opinion based" isn't just an opinion. ;)

4:45 AM
@dmckee and other mods: thanks again for the excellent moderating job you all did in 2019.

@JMac interesting analysis, it would be interesting to delve deeper. but think the simple story is that reopening is rare, across SE. n00bs are not informed of that basic factoid upfront ofc. on other hand the recent epic rebalancing in favor of questions is a rare paradigm shift.

Q: Why Do I LOSE Points Every Time I Make a Bounty?

Naveen BalajiIn the theory of junction conditions, the Riemann tensor in terms of the Heaviside theta function is expressed as follows $$R^{\alpha}_{\beta\lambda\mu} = \Theta(l)R^{\alpha^{+}}_{\beta\lambda\mu} + \Theta(-l)R^{\alpha^{-}}_{\beta\lambda\mu} + \delta(l)A^{\alpha}_{\beta\lambda\mu}.$$ Now, the tr...

Q: A physics Olympiad question I tried but couldn't solve

GDDThis question appeared on Bangladesh physics Olympiad 2014, Sylhet, Bangladesh for students of class 9 and 10. I really tried to solve this but i failed. Please help. Suppose that, while lying on the beach near the equator watching the sun set over a calm ocean, you start a stopwatch just as...

Is this a homework type question? 👆
Though I have flagged it as one.

user434058
@Knight FWIW It's quite a famous song by Pink Floyd.

user434058
11:46 AM
@JohanLiebert I also flagged it when I saw that question.

user434058
@JohanLiebert IMO I would definitely consider it a homework like question. Because only saying that you tried and not showing any efforts/tries is equivalent to not trying at all (that's not really correct but on SE, we really don't know that the OP has really tried it unless he/she posts his efforts, so we are bound to assume that the OP hasn't tried it....

@FakeMod I know, I just want to know what does this phrase Shine on you Crazy Diamond mean?

user434058
But yeah I just read his two line effort in the comments. So yeah, I am not really supporting a HW question even if it's a past year Olympiad problem. But it seems to me that the majority has a different stand. The post is proubly glowing with +4/-0 . Is it really wrong to call this a HW question?

user434058
@Knight Just Google Shine on you crazy diamond meaning. Within a few scrolls and clicks, you will know its meaning

> It means "continue to shine". There is a Pink Floyd song "Shine on you Crazy Diamond", which is a wish that the person in question will continue to "shine" like a diamond (that is, display creative genius).
If you call someone a "diamond" it means they are "rare" and valuable.
To "shine" is to be brilliant.
They are "crazy like a fox"

Q: Question about conservation of angular momentum

Cs Student This is a past exam question. It has a solution but I can't understand any part of it. (Especially the use of parallel axis theorem and choosing the distances) I would be really if somebody explain this solution to me.

user434058
IMO They should be flagged. Am I being too harsh when I flag such questions?

user434058
Whoa! Now it even has an upvote.

If that's your opinion, go for it.
or answer it :-)

user434058
@skullpatrol Yeah! I did flag it! But sometimes it feels too cruel to do that to a new contributor :)

12:07 PM
Yeah, I know how you feel...

user434058
@skullpatrol There are 2 reasons for not answering :- 1) I am not really able to understand why the OP is not able to understand the solution. It's quite an easy question. And the solution is well written and I cannot probably write a better answer than the solution.

user434058
2) There's quite a chance that it might be closed (due to the flags ;) and my answer and time would be entirely wasted.

yup, the OP needs to show some effort.

user434058
I think I should drop a hint as a comment.

sounds like a start

Q: Where does the phrase "crazy like a fox" originate?

Mason WheelerIf you say that someone is "crazy like a fox", it means that their behavior appears to be insane or nonsensical at first glance, but there's actually something very clever and subtle to it that's working toward their interests in unexpected ways. Where does this phrase come from? What do foxes ...

user434058
12:15 PM
Foxes aren't crazy, they are cunning...... :P

continue to be cunning you crazy fox

@PM2Ring hi sir! How are you?

user434058
Why isn't ACM (should I call him sir?) active nowadays? Maybe it's because of Knight :P

@YuvrajSingh... Hi. I'm ok. How are you?

user434058
@skullpatrol Laugh on you crazy fox

12:18 PM
Yup

@PM2Ring fine.
Actually I have a question if you have some time to spare?

but does @Knight know that interpretation @FakeMod?

user434058
@skullpatrol ?? Which interpretation? Even if he doesn't know, let him wonder like a crazy fox :P

user434058
@Knight Disclaimer :- I am just joking bro!! Never take me too seriously..

user434058
12:21 PM
You have given the link, he would nevertheless see that link and understand for himself

user434058
Or maybe herself... I still doubt who Knight really is :P

@Knight That song is kind of a tribute to Syd Barrett. It has nothing to do with the expression "crazy like a fox".

@FakeMod I need some mathjax help.

Syd was a co-founder of Pink Floyd, and wrote most of the songs on their first album. But he became very erratic and his mental health deteriorated so badly that they had to kick him out of the band. Some say he developed schizophrenia, or "acid psychosis", but he was never given a formal diagnosis.

Q: Will we ever create a Warp Drive Spaceship?

user3858890From a Physics stand point is it possible to create a Warp Drive Machine and how many years away are we to accomplish this? Are there other "ways" to create spaceships that are as fast as a Warp Drive Machine but more feasible with the current understanding of Physics we have?

user434058
@PM2Ring Are you a Pink Floyd fan?

@FakeMod Oh I was writing mathjax but it got auto corrected.

user434058
@JohanLiebert Okay go on...

user434058
@JohanLiebert np (vs p)

12:25 PM
@FakeMod Who isn't?

@FakeMod here in my answer the some equations are misaligned can you correct them?

user434058
@skullpatrol I might not call myself a fan because I am not really mad about PF but I do really like quite a few of their songs

Close enough :P

user434058
@JohanLiebert doing it :)

@FakeMod thanks!

12:29 PM
@PM2Ring hi.
in a binary black hole merger, if it is temporarily the case that two singularities are within a common event horizon?

@FakeMod Sort of. I prefer their earlier material. I only have 1 Pink Floyd album: Meddle. Here's one of their very early songs, written by Syd. He also sings & plays guitars on rhis track.

@FakeMod though they look in good condition when using desktop mode.

user434058
@PM2Ring I like Time by Pink Floyd. The guitar solo in the end is super awesome!!

user434058
@JohanLiebert get ready to approve my edit before the reviewers reject it...

user434058
@JohanLiebert I don't know how to align the equations which have text in between them....

12:36 PM
@FakeMod It is good. But if you've never heard it before, you must listen to Echoes. It's rather long: it was the entire 2nd side on the Meddle LP.

@FakeMod approved though in mobile version it still doesn't look different.

user434058
@PM2Ring Will surely check that out. I also like Another Brick In the Wall (Pt. 2) by them..

user434058
@JohanLiebert Anyways aligning shouldn't be taken very seriously. I only use aligning when I want to skip writing the LHS everytime

@FakeMod For a little while in the early 1980s, I used Pink Floyd's Time for my alarm clock. I plugged my record player into a timer socket. But I got sick of it after a couple of weeks. :)
When you listen to Echoes you will hear many themes that resurfaced in their later material.

@FakeMod anyways since most users use desktop site therefore they won't have any problem with it.

user434058
12:43 PM
@PM2Ring Actually I used to go to music classes. All the people there wer Pink Floyd fans. Like my classes had Pink Floyd's symbol painted on the walls. And posters stuck on the wall. They were rock fans. But I was an electronic music guy. But yeah, my teachers there influenced me quite a lot. They hold the credit for the only few rock songs that I like.

@YuvrajSingh... Sort of. Bur spacetime geometry is strange inside event horizons, and our normal intuitions about space and time don't work very well there.

user434058
@PM2Ring Hahaha :)

user434058
@PM2Ring as I said I haven't listened to much rock.

@PM2Ring :D

user434058
@JohanLiebert Yeah. I use and am using a tablet. So it's equivalent to a desktop site for me.

12:46 PM
::tablets rock::

user434058
@PM2Ring And even in that little rock that I have heard, most of it is pop rock.. So I don't really see me as a rock fan :)

user434058
@skullpatrol They surely do ;)

user434058
@PM2Ring Have you heard Midnight City by M83? Or for that matter, anyone else has heard it?

user434058
That's one of the oldest electronic music kinda stuff that I listen to..... So there might be people who can relate to it!

@FakeMod Understood. However, many early electronic music creators were influenced by Pink Floyd. And of course Floyd were using synthesizers when they were still new technology. One early electronic music group I used to listen to a bit when I was younger was the German group Tangerine Dream. They were a huge influence on the early electronic music scene.

user434058
12:51 PM
@PM2Ring Yesterday, Sir John Rennie (or Rockstar Rennie? no offense!) recommended me Tangerine Dream. You can see the conversation in General Chat!! I am planning to listen a lot of Tangerine Dream stuff tonight!!

user434058
@PM2Ring Almost all the good musicians were good because they tried new stuff and that new stuff was often mind-blowing.

@FakeMod that Olympia question is getting a lot of positive response. Personally I hate such behavior as people are distinguishing the a homework question on the basis of its origin (And guess what answered have given almost complete solution, he/she now just have to do math).
I think it would reach HNQ soon.

The Roaring Twenties refers to the decade of the 1920s in Western society and Western culture. It was a period of economic prosperity with a distinctive cultural edge in the United States and Europe, particularly in major cities such as Berlin, Chicago, London, Los Angeles, New York City, Paris, and Sydney. In France, the decade was known as the "années folles" ('crazy years'), emphasizing the era's social, artistic and cultural dynamism. Jazz blossomed, the flapper redefined the modern look for British and American women, and Art Deco peaked. Not everything roared: in the wake of the patriotism...

user434058
@JohanLiebert Yeah!! But don't worry! Try to do what you can do to help the site and the rest is the community's responsibility. I am not asking you to suppress the question by downvoting it and neither have I downnvoted it. But stop worrying about SE. It is a big site. 1 or 2 hot HW questions won't make a big difference. Enjoy your time on this site!

@FakeMod I just watched the official video. It's ok, and I quite liked the video, but the drumming in that song is a bit too "pop music-ish" for my taste. Here's an example of the kind of electronic music that I enjoy: Dissolved Girl, by Massive Attack.
@FakeMod :) I suspect that John Rennie & I have a big overlap in musical tastes. Which kind of makes sense, since we're roughly the same age.

user434058
1:09 PM
@PM2Ring Initially I was not fascinated by the song. But one day, my class test had gone bad and it was quite late night and I had started my playlist with the shuffle feature on. And suddenly that song played. At the moment when the end played (that saxophone), I felt like sleeping, floating and sinking into something divine. And since that day I can relate the song to that feeling and thus I like it.

user434058
@PM2Ring I would recommend you to re-listen the end with nice earphones or headphones on and imagine being lost in the vast universe. I really like that feeling.... :)

user434058
@PM2Ring Yup... I am 16 so we might have very different choices :)

I and @JohanLiebert were discussing the same issue some time ago. We did what we could.

user434058
@AaronStevens

user434058
I suppose you'd have VTCed it.

user434058
@AaronStevens Is it okay to downvote a question just to stop it from being a HNQ?

@FakeMod Down votes should be given if you think the question is of poor quality, not useful to the site, etc.

1:28 PM
@FakeMod Of course. OTOH, I have a nephew who's a year or 2 older than you, and he likes a lot of the guitar music that I like.

user434058
@AaronStevens So I suppose HW HNQ's are not useful or even harmful??

@FakeMod HW questions are not always bad, and some can make for good HNQ questions. However this one does not. The site is not a homework help site. So just posting a question saying "I couldn't solve it" is off topic

user434058
@PM2Ring I just finished listening Dissolved Girl. The intro (about first 30 secs) made me feel as if I was to encounter a new song to be favorit'ed. But the rest of the song took quite unpredictable turns (for me) and did not turn out the way I expected.

user434058
@AaronStevens I agree!

@FakeMod Mods can remove questions from the HNQ list. If you have a good reason to believe that a question should not go onto the HNQ, you can flag it with a custom flag. But you must give a solid convincing argument stating why.
@FakeMod Oh, ok. I like a bit of unpredictability in my music, but I agree that it can be disappointing when songs go in directions that you don't agree with.

user434058
1:34 PM
@PM2Ring and @JohnRennie If you like some mixture of electronic and rock music, then try checking out Heavyweight by Infected Mushroom. I bet you would like it. Especially the solo in the end.

user434058
@PM2Ring evryone has a different sense of unpredictability. Due to the sugary pop music famous nowadays, people are starting to listen more and more predictable music. So the non mainstream genres aren't appreciated much by the majority. That's what I think.

user434058
@PM2Ring Well I don't think that the question is really so bad that it shouldn't be given the opportunity to be a HNQ. And I do not have any solid convincing argument to support the stoppage of it becoming a HNQ.

@FakeMod Yeah. I have a fairly low tolerance for most modern pop music. I listen to a lot of music, but I haven't listened to much commercial radio for over 20 years.

@PM2Ring Thank you for telling me that Shine on you Crazy Diamond was for Syd Barrett. I want to know why there is on in that phrase @skullpatrol. Does that mean Shine on you should never fade away?

Yes

user434058
1:39 PM
I think the end solo in Heavyweight (mentioned above 👆 ) is the gist of the whole song so listen that if you're in a hurry!!

@FakeMod You should probably read about the HNQ selection formula: meta.stackexchange.com/a/61343/334566

user434058
@PM2Ring Never trust Radio as a source for good music!! :

@skullpatrol Does that it mean Crazy Diamond (Syd Barrett) I wish you live long and long in people’s heart?

Yup

BTW, that question went to Twitter about an hour ago, so there's a good chance that it'll go to the HNQ.

user434058
1:41 PM
@PM2Ring But I do have came across a few good songs but that was from a show which focused on non mainstream electronic music.

@skullpatrol But whenever I listen that song it seems to me as if Roger Waters is talking to me personally. Do you feel that too?

Sometimes, music is that way.
Psycho-realism :P
Teenagers generally feel it more than older adults.

@FakeMod Now let me come to you. Do you think a man like ACM would lessen his visit because of me. He talks to me like this:
He just says “What did I tell you”?

user434058
Ignore this message of mine. I cannot delete it. But it is misleading, so ignore it.

yo yo yo!!!

1:47 PM
@AbhasKumarSinha Are you fat?

@Knight no, I'm fit, almost have 6 packs visible.

user434058
@AbhasKumarSinha Same here.

@FakeMod :)

@skullpatrol Why there is so much confusion about my gender over here when Mr. ACM has his profile picture of a magical woman? People should ask ACM about gender.
@AbhasKumarSinha What kind of packs? Beer ?

@Knight she's he

1:49 PM
@AbhasKumarSinha who’s he?

@Knight ACM

@PM2Ring Is ACM he?

@Knight abs

@AbhasKumarSinha why does he have a profile picture of a magical lady?

Don't be overly sensitive pal @Knight

1:51 PM
@skullpatrol Thank you for console.

@Knight because he didn't like his previous profile pic.
@skullpatrol hi pal

What was his previous picture?

@AbhasKumarSinha yo, pal

@AbhasKumarSinha You will get me killed. Why have you pinged him?

@skullpatrol yo pal, what are you doing? Chilling?

1:52 PM
yup like a villain.

@skullpatrol Do you know QM?

nope

@skullpatrol QM like a villian? Cool! I like it.
Everyone is a villian in someone's life

Actually anyone can look at his/her previous profile pic over here. He/she hasn't updated his/her network profile.

Anyone excited for World War - III?

2:01 PM
@Knight Yes, ACM is a man. FWIW, there's a photo of him in the transcripts, from when he was a teenager.

@PM2Ring Where? I want to see him.
@JohanLiebert Is that a woman or it’s just hallucination?

user434058
@PM2Ring Did you check out Infected Mushroom?

@Knight I don't know.

@JohanLiebert The link which you gave had profile picture of a painted woman, did you see the same?

@JohanLiebert Sup buddy? How's your exams going?

2:07 PM
@ACuriousMind Are you a man or a woman?

@AbhasKumarSinha exams are over now, just one left for Sanskrit .

@Knight courageous and cowardy kid!
@JohanLiebert Is your sanskrit good?

@FakeMod Not yet. I will in a little while. Right now, I'm listening to some bluesey soul music by Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa.

@AbhasKumarSinha What? Whether I do something or not he/she would scold me so why not get some info during that hard scolding

@JohanLiebert I've next exam entrepreneurship and fashion studies.....
Both boring... :(

2:08 PM
@AbhasKumarSinhA it was but not now. Though one of my friend can speak Sanskrit quite fluently!

@Knight Smart Kid!

user434058
@PM2Ring My piano teacher tried a lot to convert me from an electronic guy to a blues guy, but he failed :)

@JohanLiebert interesting. If I can recall correctly, it's one of the world's hardest language to learn!

@AbhasKumarSinhA hardness in studying a language depends on the learner

@FakeMod It's a blantently off topic question. What do you mean by saying you don't think the question is really that bad?

2:11 PM
@JohanLiebert agree :)

Aaron is a man, you can see from his picture.

user434058
@AaronStevens It's from the content. BTW, I flagged it for closure!

@JohanLiebert All my profile pictures are fictional characters I like, usually from RPGs, and have been male, female or neither without any pattern behind that.

user434058
@Knight What a genius!!!

@FakeMod lol

2:12 PM
@ACuriousMind same for me.

Jul 15 '19 at 18:32, by ACuriousMind
I also look like the stereotypical metalhead (long hair + beard + preference for black clothing), so maybe I just let the people asking me if I was into metal wear me down :P

@Knight I'm male and using "He" is fine.

@ACuriousMind Thank you for clarifying that.
@FakeMod What have you removed?

@Knight secret

user434058
@Knight Nevermind!! It was a late response so it won't make sense

2:14 PM
@PM2Ring Is your name means “ PM is about to ring “?

@Semiclassical Good evening sir :)
@Knight PM - Prime Minister of Ring :P

@FakeMod all right

@Knight No.

@PM2Ring So What is it about your name?

user434058
@PM2Ring I suppose P and M are the initials of your name!!

2:15 PM
Jun 6 '19 at 10:26, by PM 2Ring
@AbhasKumarSinha It's derived from the name of one of the founders of computer science, A M Turing.

@PM2Ring I was kidding :P :)

user434058
What does PM mean?

user434058
@PM2Ring

Why 2ring?

...he just told you.

2:17 PM
i didn’t get that

Tu ring

Oh!

user434058
What does PM mean????????????????

Prime Minister!
XD

2:18 PM
Yes

post meridiem.

user434058
@ACuriousMind really!??!?!

@ACuriousMind Don't spoil the fun :P

HEY ACM also jokes.
Thank God
I love you ACM

@Knight Big hand for ACM's Jokes

2:19 PM
Pay me! (PM)

Everyone Clap!

In time notation, PM is the complement to AM, eg 2:30 PM vs 2:30 AM . Turing -> 2Ring.

Abhas Claps

Big hand for ACM

user434058
Gotta go BYE!

user434058

ACM ROCKS

That...wasn't a joke, that's literally what it stands for in the am/pm distinction.

@FakeMod Where?

user434058
@AbhasKumarSinha Dinner

@ACuriousMind Yes ACM, but you deserve a loud applause!

@ACuriousMind No it was a joke, we all have laughed and now you can’t say it’s not a joke. That’s cheating

2:20 PM
@Knight That's ACM's style

@PM2Ring Can you explain how a black hole evaporate through hawking radiation?

@PM2Ring I just want to ask why there is so much of difficulty in just a name. Couldn’t you pick a name as good as you are, Sir?

@AaronStevens I watched some of the video which we are talking about, they are good!

@AbhasKumarSinha He was just awesome with that joke.
@YuvrajSingh... we are talking about genders. What’s yours?
@YuvrajSingh... First of all give a big hand to ACM.

@ACuriousMind Congrats, I subscribed your youtube channel., cool! :) Keep Uploading! :P

2:23 PM
@Knight haha!

@Knight Sorry? I chose this name as a tribute to AM Turing. I've been using it online for almost 20 years, and it has served me well. It makes it fairly easy to find my stuff with Google.

@AbhasKumarSinha link?

@AbhasKumarSinha give me the link. I will listen him every morning.

@AbhasKumarSinha Whatever you subscribed to isn't mine, I don't have a Youtube channel.

@YuvrajSingh... Yes, I agree :)

2:24 PM
physics.SE is my only online presence under this username.

@AbhasKumarSinha hahahahaha

@ACuriousMind Ah, that's just a new way to ask if someone has a youtube channel! XD

Oh My God

@AbhasKumarSinha popat!

@Knight k
@YuvrajSingh... koi ni!

2:24 PM
It’s one of the biggest joke I have ever witnessed

@AbhasKumarSinha now do cover it by excuse.

@Knight big applause for me too! XD

@YuvrajSingh... John Rennie has written a couple of good answers about that. Give me a minute, and I'll post a link.

@YuvrajSingh... lol

No. It’s because of ACM tha your joke became a joke

2:26 PM
@Knight You mean, ACM's a joke :P XD KLOL
Sorry, typo

@AbhasKumarSinha It’s too much bro. Just apologise to him

@Knight I did.
@ACuriousMind are you there? listening my apologies and jokes?

@AbhasKumarSinha @Knight everyday you come with much of non physics related topics , a advice can you take this conversation to a different room!

@YuvrajSingh... awkey!

@ACuriousMind We truly respect you and will always respect you.
@YuvrajSingh... okay we are leaving

2:28 PM
@ACuriousMind We love you too, You got my vote for the next elections

How to vote?

A: An explanation of Hawking Radiation

John RennieTo answer this we need to talk a bit about how particles are described in quantum field theory. For every type of particle there is an associated quantum field. So for the electron there is an electron field, for the photon there is a photon field, and so on. These quantum fields occupy all of s...

@Knight bye, I've to go to save whole world!

@AbhasKumarSinha @Knight my vote goes to you!

@AbhasKumarSinhA he doesn't need election to be a moderator

2:29 PM
@YuvrajSingh... Thanks buddy :)

@YuvrajSingh... To whom? Me or Abhas?

@JohanLiebert who?

@JohanLiebert where to vote?

@YuvrajSingh... bhai ka poppat mat krna

@AbhasKumarSinha Oh bro he’s talking about ACM

2:30 PM
@Knight Cool! :)

@Knight No you.

@YuvrajSingh... wow! Thank you. But where is link for voting?

@AbhasKumarSinha yeh hain Kaun?

@AbhasKumarSinhA @Knight @ACuriousMind is a lifetime moderator unless he resigns

@JohanLiebert of course

2:31 PM
@AbhasKumarSinha Stack Exchange elections don't work like that. When someone is elected as a moderator they are a mod until they resign (or get de-modded). They don't have to stand for election again.

@PM2Ring thanks for the link, it take some time to understand and read the answer!

@PM2Ring okay :)

@PM2Ring why we need so many moderator, and how do we decide election date!

@YuvrajSingh... My next vote is to @PM2Ring then :)

@YuvrajSingh... Simply because one moderator cannot do the job on his own. Also they have regular jobs to do. Neither are they paid for it.

2:35 PM
@YuvrajSingh... No worries. Also see physics.stackexchange.com/a/30601/123208 for a slightly different angle on this question.
@AbhasKumarSinha I would not like to be a mod on Stack Exchange. Especially after what happened last year.

@PM2Ring What happened?
Should I add answers to those questions where there are already 3-4 answers or those questions where there are accepted answers?
I don't think that it particular would be useful to OP

@PM2Ring great answers, they very very well framed. Thanks for the link
@PM2Ring oh you posted one more link!
Let me check.

@AbhasKumarSinha its quite a mesa. Search for monica cellio on mother meta.

@JohanLiebert ..?

2:42 PM
@AbhasKumarSinha she was a moderator on some sites but then demodded by SE due to CoC.

@YuvrajSingh... Elections usually happen only when the work load has grown so large that the existing moderators feel they need help or when moderators have resigned.

@JohanLiebert CoC?

@AbhasKumarSinha code of conduct (not Clash of Clans!)

@JohanLiebert which rule?

@AbhasKumarSinha Answers on Stack Exchange aren't just for the OP! They are supposed to be helpful for future readers as well. Please see stackoverflow.blog/2011/06/13/optimizing-for-pearls-not-sand Some of that info is a bit out of date (it's almost 10 years old), but many regulars on the network still believe in and uphold the principles stated there.

2:45 PM
@AbhasKumarSinha Just search mother meta please, there is no use in rehashing that drama in this room just for you.

@AbhasKumarSinha its quite a political topic so can't say more but you can see more of it on mother meta.

@ACuriousMind do you know if old unused chat rooms can be searched?
I ask on the offchance your moderatorial knowledge would include this ...

@JohnRennie hi, our room please sir!

@JohnRennie They can, but only mods can see them if the rooms have been deleted

@ACuriousMind Archer and I had a chat room called some name with "Archer" in it. I would like to search it for the text "kms" but I can't find anything and assume the room got deleted.

2:48 PM
If often use a Google site: search to find stuff in chat transcripts, but I've only tried it on active rooms, like this one & Python, so I don't know if it works on small or frozen rooms.

@JohnRennie Can't see anything among the deleted rooms you own, but I can look more throroughly later, I gotta leave now

Oh well. Thanks for trying :-)

SE CoC is nothing by a childish drama.

@Loong that room is only a couple of weeks old. I think Archer created it after our original room got deleted.

2:51 PM
ah, I see

Who posts from the twitter handel of Physics.SE?

@AbhasKumarSinha CoC?

@JohanLiebert CEO
@JohnRennie yep

What does CoC mean?

@AbhasKumarSinha who is the CEO?

2:58 PM
