Okaaayyyy so D8P2 wants me to return a damn string instead of a number, but my interface doesn't support this :|
(I found the solution, I just can't display it in my form)
Damnit. What now. Should I change my interface to return a string and add .ToString() to all my previous returns? Any other suggestion?
interface IAdventOfCodeProblem
{
    string ProblemUrl();
    string ProblemTitle();
    string FileName();
    int SolvePart1();
    int SolvePart2();
}
My interface^. problem is with the SolvePart_() methods

@Phrancis Moahahaha. Told you it would happen.
@Phrancis Return any.
or Object
or whatever it is called
But if you're able to have your code actually return that value, I'm impressed

Just out of curiosity, how did you figure out the string programmatically?

@M.Doerner I didn't
Considered if I should write some code for that or not
but skipped that

I meant @Phrancis.

12:09 AM
@SimonForsberg Well, I was going to hard-code the answer in, who has time to write a pixel interpretation algorithm for a damn programming challenge
@M.Doerner Console.WriteLine(image.Replace('0', ' '));

OK, so it was manual at last.

Oh yeah of course
@SimonForsberg Hmm just go really generic then you can return essentially aything?

You could return a string representation of the image.

@M.Doerner Oh now that would be fucking cool, but I'd have to change the GUI a good bit to allow that

BTW, I would recommend to replace the ones with \u2588, i.e. a solid block.

12:29 AM
[Phrancis/AdventOfCode2019] Phrancis pushed commit a4ebeabe to master: modify IAdventOfCodeProblem interface for SolveProblemX methods to return instead of to allow non-number results

@Duga This was much more painless than I expected
except git escaped my backtick-enclosed words
:|
Phrancis@MSI MINGW64 /c/users/phrancis/source/repos/AdventOfCode2019/AdventOfCode2019 (master)
$ git commit -m "modify IAdventOfCodeProblem interface for SolveProblemX methods to return `object` instead of `int` to allow non-number results"
bash: object: command not found
bash: int: command not found
Evidently I accidentally discovered how to put bash commands inside of a string ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Day 9... more Intcode computer fun

1:35 AM
Agh, a new parameter mode. There go my handy tertiary statements :|
equalsParam1 = modes[0] == OpcodeParameterMode.Position
    ? WorkingMemory[instruction[1]]
    : instruction[1];

@Phrancis Nice new pic.

@brug hahah... It's not "new" new but it was hard to fit a hat on the statue pic :)

haha yeah you shared it before. Are you switching back to the statue after the hats are gone?

1:57 AM
@Phrancis Don't see any pic :( :(

2:11 AM
@Marc-Andre My profile pic on CR? May need to reload the chat page
@brug dunno! probably

2:23 AM
@Phrancis Yep close and reopen the browser too! Did nothing
I love my new headphones

2:35 AM
@Marc-Andre What kind are they?

[Phrancis/AdventOfCode2019] Phrancis pushed commit 24ae9614 to master: in progress for Day 9 Part 1

@Duga I think the Intcode computer's modified logic for the new mode and new Opcode should work, but apparently there are a few other bits in the challenge. Always a surprise until you read the whole challenge.
wat

@Marc-Andre You're a man after my own heart! I've been using Audio-Technica ATH-like headphones for years for audio/music
They don't have that boomy sound like a lot of other popular headphones do, just a nice, balanced curve with just enough bass

@Phrancis I don't like bass that much to be honest. Not in headphone at least

2:54 AM
@Marc-Andre Same. I like just enough to know it's there, but not so much that it muffles or compresses the rest. I especially like to have clear and bright trebles, which are the first victim of heavy bass

@Phrancis Yeah I use them at my computer for gaming. So a lot of times, it's in a game so bass is more problematic than anything else

Seems you’re all having a better time coding than I am at work Christmas party.
FML the carolers are here....
They ask what our favorite Christmas carols are. They didn’t know mine.
The grinch is strong in me.

Q: Best way to show image from rest api response in vue.js

Roman ShevchenkoI have Rest api written on laravel and front end on vue.js. It is dashboard for ecommerce store where you can connect to post shipment service api to upload order shipment data and get tracking number(with .png label). So after i receive tracking number label from post service api i need possibil...

11:31 AM
@Phrancis Well, it would be quite easy I think as it's basically an array of 26 maps of how each character look like.
@Phrancis Yes exactly, because the model doesn't care about what it's returning, and in the GUI you just convert it to a string whatever it is

11:54 AM
Why haven't I started using VS Code before? It sure beats the hell out of Atom when it comes to TypeScript

12:12 PM
What's the hotkey in VS Code to do one of the quick-fixes for a problem?

12:34 PM
@SimonForsberg I talked about VSCode a while ago! Don't blame me ahaha
Have a nice evreyone

@Marc-Andre A nice everyone!? Nice!

I currently use vscode for everything but C#.
But I am still getting used to it.

@SimonForsberg Splunk Alert: MFE Unusual amount of activity - [count:3659]

in The 2nd Monitor, 26 secs ago, by Duga
[testing] 42 AWS Tests Succeeded. 5 Duga functions migrated to AWS. 4 Duga functions that is actually being used on AWS
Of course I put it in The 2nd Monitor instead of here -.-

Dang @SimonForsberg been busy!

@Phrancis And I haven't even posted my week update yet!
Week update: sort-of-maybe-dates-been-to, one. Badminton played, once. Old friends of family met with, one. Code written, a lot. Advent of Code days done, one and two half. Duga functions migrated to AWS, see post by @Duga above (5, of which 4 are sort-of used). Board game meetups organized, one. Splunk searches made at work, a lot. Christmas lunches attended, one. Board games bought, four (Christmas is coming!).

9:50 PM
That was week 1734 btw ^^
@Marc-Andre Turns out that decoupling @Duga is a good idea. Also, have you considered using AWS or something for PDB?

10:14 PM
@SimonForsberg Sort of maybe date.. interesting

@skiwi Neither of us knew if it was a date or not, but we both had a good time and decided that we should meet again some time.

@SimonForsberg Looks like it's time to turn it into a real date if you're interested in that!
(Not like I actually know any of that dating stuff)

11:04 PM
@SimonForsberg Consider yes. Close to anything for that? No
@SimonForsberg Yep a Nice whatever anyone wanted :P

@Marc-Andre Let me know if you want any help with that. I have learned enough to be able to assist.

@SimonForsberg That's nice! It kinda started like that with my actual wife. It was just a get back to know each other :)

@Marc-Andre So you knew your wife before you started dating her? You were friends first?

@SimonForsberg Yes. We were at the same school for my 7th and 8th year of school. Then she moved somewhere else near Quebec city. We saw each other like 3 times before finally see each other again when I was 19.

@Marc-Andre Oh wow. And how long before you started dating after you saw each other again when you were 19 ?

11:16 PM
@SimonForsberg A month I guess? She broke up with the dude and 2 week after that we were dating

Hahaha
