@Ælis On a rooted Android device you can get a adblocker, otherwise a PiHole will also do

Other than that, don't know any more options :(

@Ælis You need to root it from my experience so you can access a hosts file of some kind (a hosts file is a file typically on Windows that you can use to block websites on the machine)

I used AdAway, it was pretty effective

I wrote them a really nice email asking if I can study at 2/3rd speed, so my chances of succeeding are higher. I hope the answer is yes. Then I can combine it with my job. If I'd have to give up my job, I'd have to move elsewhere and sell my car and I really really don't want that. Actually, I think moving and selling my car may lower my chances of succeeding significantly. I don't do well in public transport, my car is my mobility. And my house is my home, it's a place I can relax.

At first I felt bad about asking for a lower speed so I could keep my luxuries. Then I reminded myself that they're not luxuries, they're things I need to function as a normal human being.

@Belle nothing really wrong with taking a slower pace if its what you need

I had a classmate who took one module a semester (stretching a 2 year course to about 4) cause he had to balance it with work

That seems fair. I hope I can do that. Watching recordings of lectures also helps for me. The social aspects of college just take far more spoons for me than studying at home or work does.

I originally graduated high school with honours at 16, while the normal age is 18. My parents live in the middle of nowhere, so I had to move out to be able to go to university. To say that wasn't good for my mental health is a severe understatement

@AGirlHasNoName I'm not eligible for government student loans in Netherlands. But since I'm a EU citizen, I can study at the local university (Delft) for just 2k a year.

@Belle ahh yeah, the US system is a bit different than the EU one.

UK is 9.25k per year but then student loans are really nice

Price-wise it doesn't matter much. It's basically, do I want to study online or do I want to go to a really good university

I heard from a lot of Dutch people that employers say a degree from OU doesn't "count". It's accredited, but they seem to think it's too easy to get. How do people (employers) in your countries think about that?

@Belle Some programs are not explicitly "online". My wife's degree is from PSU. There is no indication that she wasn't there in person. That said, many people still have this belief that online degrees are not as valuable. I am hoping there is less of that in the tech world where remote work is valued and people can understand the concept of distance learning better.

I got a few credits from PSU for my degree during summer a few years ago
