One of the editor is addting tag keyword in question body like [tag: xyz]. For example this edit. This looks completely irrelevant to me. Should I accept those edits or reject?

Q: VMWARE iso not found

Cameron CarterI Am trying to install windows 10 using VMware and the iso continues to not be found. I am running Ubuntu 18 and have install vmware from their website, it is the 15th edition. I have a windows 10 iso that I pirated because I need to preform security test on the ISO for research reason for the co...

@Kulfy It's actually a correct part of markdown for stack exchange (see https://askubuntu.com/editing-help#tags). However I'm not entirely sure that tags added in this manner are searchable by novices, like me.
@Kulfy But I don't understand why he would place duplicate tags in the body, or tags in the body at all.

@CharlesGreen Help center says: "To talk about a tag on this site...". So, I think this must be used whenever talking about tags which generally happens on meta and I see no use on main site.

3:38 AM
@Kulfy I saw that and was not too sure how to interpret it. If that is the intent, then yes it is of no use on the main site.

@CharlesGreen Currently I'm inclined towards rejecting such edits but couple of the reviewers are approving them. So, should I keep rejecting them?

@Kulfy In the specific case you mention (which was approved) the non-tag edits were trivial, although I would have approved that for a very new Editor. I've been pressing the 'skip' button a lot recently....
That might be ennui - I find myself not looking at particular catagories of questions recently.

@CharlesGreen In that case, I think such edits are debatable. Isn't it?

Wait until midnight!

@DKBose Until the chariot turns back into a pumpkin?

That's a bit from a bug (bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1548973) affecting Firefox users. I'm surprised there aren't questions about it already. Apparently, extensions are being disabled because Mozilla forgot to do something in time.

@DKBose Yeah. I'm also affected and turning that off doesn't help: NoScript and AdBlockPlus still don't work.
looking for a manual update to both nbow.

It's odd because people seem to be seeing this already before midnight of 2019-05-04 UTC.
twitter.com/mozamo is one thing to monitor to for updates.

@DKBose I'm going to post a Q&A

10:21 AM
Please do!
The beta is also affected. From what I gather, dev and nightly aren't.
Meanwhile, I backed up my Stylus & uBlock origin settings.
I wonder what this means:
The dates on the cert in question were:

Not Before: May 4 00:09:46 2017 GMT
Not After : May 4 00:09:46 2019 GMT
from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1548973#c47

Q: FireFox 66 Quantum disabled all my extensions at midnight!

FabbyThis morning I woke up to: and the FireFox help page doesn't really help... What should I do??? I need NoScript and AdBlockPlus to improve my surfing speed!

@Fabby reading it now :)

@DKBose 2 upvotes already!
>:-)

@Fabby One's mine for the question. I'm reading the answer now. Edit require to required and also mention the default is true (just for the people who don't do this often) :)

@DKBose Editing...

10:36 AM
@Fabby now the main question: why hasn't someone else come up with your solution?

@DKBose Because the help page tells you to only do the first one...
and I use the search extensively to find hidden features...
(not editing your comment into my answer, upvoted instead) @DKBose

@Fabby okay. Good job

Good morning all
Have a great day!

@Benny A great day with a working FireFox!
:D :D :D
(see above, someone should star that as everyone is going to run into that problem...)

Is the langpack one also needed to be changed?

10:41 AM
@DKBose How many languages do you have installed in FireFox?

@Fabby Just English, AFAIK.

@DKBose Well, then no, you don't...
For everyone else out there: yes, we do!

@Fabby okay!

;-)

@Fabby update to the bug page:
Update: We have rolled out a partial fix for this issue. We generated a new intermediate certificate with the same name/key but an updated validity window and pushed it out to users via Normandy (this should be most users). Users who have Normandy on should see their add-ons start working over the next few hours. We are continuing to work on packaging up the new certificate for users who have Normandy disabled.
@Fabby do you know what "Normandy" is (in this context)?

10:45 AM
@DKBose code name for Release channel probably.
Normandy = New.

@Fabby There are entries for it in about:config
Bugreport 1 Twitter 0 (as of now)

@Fabby thank you, that helped me solving this problem for my wife

@dessert YW.
@dessert What are you on then???

@Fabby I use Vivaldi: vivaldi.com

@dessert Someone told me to try Brave...

10:53 AM
@Fabby "Feature Flagging with Normandy Pref Rollout

Normandy Pref Rollout is a feature that allows Mozilla to change the default value of a preference for a targeted set of users, **without deploying an update to Firefox**. This document focuses on the use of Pref Rollout as a mechanism to enable feature flagging in Firefox. " from https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/Normandy/PreferenceRollout

@DKBose Why "Normandy"?

@Fabby seems to be some magic sauce allowing them to change your browser without an explicit update. Sinister but useful? Why the name "Normandy", I don't know :(

@DKBose Because it starts with "N" for "New"

@Fabby could also be nein or non?

@DKBose :D

11:03 AM
@Fabby anyway, looks like this interim fix is on the way at least for users who haven't locked down their browser against perceived intrusions ;)

Which version of firefox were talkign about as i have 66 here but none of that problems

@Videonauth Not all users are affected, just most.

AH o.k. just wondered 66.0.3 here

@Videonauth, same version here and unaffected as well … for now!

11:29 AM
@Videonauth you can look at ghacks.net/2019/05/04/… for more.

:) thank you
well guess now it has hit me however

@Videonauth :D But you have a workaround already!

yeah im on it
I wonder if they have no unit tests running for that kind of shit

I have a general. Question regarding pc specs ,I am building my pc and I am seeing processor with almost same specs but with and without inbuilt graphics ,the price difference is significant as I am a developer (full stack/android/ml/AI/data analysis) so my question is can I compensate a non inbuilt graphic processor with a dedicated graphic card or should I go for a processor with dedicated graphics ?

2 hours later…
5:12 PM
@user716691 If you have a graphics card you don't need onboard graphics.

and the other way around

sometimes. Onboard graphics can't handle most large games or 3D modeling/animating, etc.
Although the technology has definitely come a long way since the early days of onboard.

Q: Get transmission rpc url to point to site root

HAsHpANTsIs there a way to get my webclient to point to http://transmission.example.com/web instead of http://example.com/transmission/web? I'm using nginx, and I did try serveral combos of transmssion config and nginx site config :/ Some gives me 409 error, others the "too many redirects" error.
