Q: Is Skyrim kid friendly?

I've heard much about Skyrim, and as I'm going to get an X-Box for Christmas, I'm taking a look at various games to see what might be of interest. I have 3 kids, ages 8-12, and I'm wondering about the appropriateness of this game for younger kids. Thanks!

@RapidQA My problem with both is we are not here to rate games. That is what the ESRB is for (and similar entities)

Everyone has a different interpretation.

They're not 'answers'.

What happens if I bounty a question and there is a duplicate (assuming the one I bounty should be closed)? I don't think there is to this question (gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/69990/…). Just wondering as an aside.

Inspired by How to differentiate old games (Starcraft vs Starcraft II)? The current "Starcraft" tag is easily confused to mean any Starcraft game. The "Broodwar" tag doesn't say anything about Starcraft. A "Starcraft - 1" tag would seem tacky because that's not how people referred to the game...
