It is a bug --- specifically, a user interface bug: the user interface does not make it sufficiently clear what is going on and leaves people with doubts. — Federico Poloni Oct 2 at 20:01
and I suggest re-tagging it as bug, because otherwise the SE staff will never see this thread. — Federico Poloni Oct 3 at 6:41
@FedericoPoloni If you really think that this should be changed (i.e., that reputation tab should show some kind of explanation about daily reputation limit if it is reached) probably Meta Stack Exchange would be a good place where to post a feature request about this.
Personally, I am neither for nor against such suggestion.
I have tried to search a bit whether similar suggestion has been posted before, but I found nothing: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/… meta.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/…
The reason why I suggested Meta Stack Exchange is that this concerns all sites in the network - it is not MO-specific.

@MartinSleziak I can't report it on meta.se myself. 4 of my 9 questions there were highly downvoted (-14 to -39), so now I am automatically banned from posting new questions there. (This happens by design on all sites, apparently; people have complained in the past that it's not a good idea in meta.se where downvotes carry a different meaning).

I see. You probably mean this and perhaps some other similar posts: Get rid of the question ban on Meta; suspend actively harmful users manually.
Post ban is certainly an unfortunate situation for somebody who wants to be involved in some site. (IIRC per-site metas do not have post bans. I did not know that post ban is possible on the main meta.)
I do not consider this high priority, but if you wish I could post the feature request. I am not sure whether I will have time this week, but I'll try to get around to this at some point.
Let me know whether you agree with the suggestion that I post the feature request there. And if this solution is acceptable to you, feel free to ping me again and remind me this if you do not hear from me about this issue in two weeks.

This is linked in one of the discussions about post bans on Meta Stack Exchange: How do I participate in Meta and not die trying? However, the suggestions in the only answer posted there seems to me as things which anybody using common sense would do anyway.

Probably only "Heavily consider not requesting a new feature if you're new" does not fall into that category. (But I assume that only very few people look at the advice given here before they are question-banned or before they receive at least their first warning.)

@MartinSleziak Do it if you consider it a good idea; not just because I do. I have already been banned once, after all. :)

I don't want to sound cocky, but I think I am still quite far on the safe side as far as question ban on Meta Stack Exchange is concerned.
I do not feel strongly about this, but it probably does not hurt to ask. I suppose implementing some kind of tooltip would not be that difficult.
I'll try to post the question when I have some time.
Speaking of bans, I have seen users who have successfully got from a question ban, but I suppose it is difficult. And I vaguely recall that even question-banned users can still post a new question after 6 months - and it is possible that if it is well received, the new question help them get from the ban.
> If you're unable to improve your existing questions, you'll get the chance to ask a new one 6 months after your last question. If that question is positively received, you may be able to continue asking questions; if not, then the ban will be reinstated.
I have noticed that David Halitsky had a new question on MO not too long ago. I am not sure whether he is one of the few users who managed to overcome post-ban or whether this is the "tryout" question allowed after 6 months.
And since we are looking at this topic - quote from the accepted answer to Is there even an automatic ban on meta?
> Note that the quality bans are disabled on all meta sites, regardless of whether the parent site has them enabled or not (with Meta Stack Exchange being the only exception).
@FedericoPoloni Well, in any case it seemed at least polite to ask first. (Directly going there and posting that question would look as "stealing" your idea.)

@MartinSleziak Sure, feel free to go ahead; no problem for me. Good luck; I hope your experience on meta.se is going to be better than mine. :)

Very recently I was browsing through some of my past posts on MSE and I stumbled upon some of them regarding the Second Hardy-Littlewood Conjecture.

I was wondering whether proving the following weak version of the conjecture is something significant or is it already known,

user131753
The statement is,

user131753
"For all $k>1$ and $\varepsilon\in (0,\ln \sqrt{2}]$ there exists $y_0\in \mathbb{R}$ (depending on $\varepsilon$ only) such that for all $y\ge y_0$ the following holds, $$\pi(ky)+\pi(y)>\pi((k+1)y)$$where $\pi$ is the Prime Counting Function."
