There are the three deprecated tags: abstract-algebra, discrete-mathematics and geometry. mathoverflow.net/questions/tagged/…
If this suggestion is implemented at some point, we will no longer have to worry about these tags getting new questions: The existing deprecated tags should be blacklisted.
There are also some tags which were deprecated or removed in the past - if somebody creates one of those tags again, they should be removed.
The ones I know of are: arithmetic, calculus, elementary, inverse and representation. mathoverflow.net/questions/tagged/…
And the tag topology is a special case. It was deprecated, removed, then reappeared, and now it it a synonym of gn.general-topology.
As mentioned by François G. Dorais in chat, there is currently a synonym (topology) $\to$ (gn.general-topology). Based on his comment, it seems to be a test to see whether this will lead to some incorrectly tagged questions or not. — Martin Sleziak Nov 21 '17 at 9:45
And there are also a few tags which are quite often used incorrectly and if they appear, it is worth have a look at the question and whether it has correct tags. I would mention these ones: books, covering, divisors and probably also tag-removed and untagged. mathoverflow.net/questions/tagged/…
The tag tag-removed is somewhat special case. If it appears in a recently bumped question, then it should be removed. More details about this tag can be found in the links given here: mathoverflow.net/tags/tag-removed/info
