@Darjeeling not really. Sailor Moon has the whole ~~fuck you TVTropes~~ Monster of the Week thing with each story arc or season connecting them together because of the seasonal big bad who sends them (which in the manga then connects all the seasonal big bads together).

with One Piece even throw away villains at the start like earlier Baroque Works agents or Captain Morgan was still more memorable and you see how the conflict there did help the character's grow

with Sailor Moon it's more "Bad guy can't be beast with current tools, here's new tools. keep using them until big bad shows up"

Q: Why do people tend to say the Kara no Kyoukai anime "does not exist"?

It's clear from the anime that it exists. Some of the characters from the main series are there. As close as I can tell, it's just a side series. So why do hardcore Type-Moon fans say with resolve that Kara no Kyoukai is not a Type-Moon anime or that it does not exist to them?
