@Zanna I am looking at askubuntu.com/questions/634850: I'd say if psusi says it is wrong then it is wrong indeed - so no chance to UV

yeah, agreed
could it be a dupe?

dunno - I very strongly avoid searching for dupes on the whole network - it gives some kind of pain everytime

hahaha I don't think I understand the problem well enough to find a good dupe... is it clear enough to answer?

no, for a definite answer we would have to get several questions (did you ...? what is the result of ...?) answered. As it is now we could only guess and write some generic advice.

let's vote unclear

10:31 AM
agreed

voted, and downvoted Q&A
moved and marked the card

+1
about trello.com/c/BSGkEDDp/… : as OP didn't react to your prompt I'd rather downvote the answer (possibly dangerous ...)

yeah...
downvoted

is there a way to feed it to roomba?

delete the answer, or close the question
I voted to delete the answer and it will probably get voted to delete by Eric C, but getting another delete vote is quite unlikely I think

10:42 AM
ok and with my slow progress I won't get 10k in time :-)

delete votes never age away ;)
any way to close the question? OP "fixed" it but their solution is unclear...

morning

:-)

morning!

@Zanna IMO no - but maybe @Videonauth has an idea? (like "never step into a room where they are likely to ask you for work" :-))

10:48 AM
hahaha

erm?
idea? what idea? I didn't do it!

if Anwar comes by, he may be willing to cast a delete vote on the answer, so we can put the card in Left a Comment
Because we don't insist on cleaning that list before adding new cards :)

is it a question then i can cast a delete, for answers you have to wait about 3000 reputation till i can do that

It's an answer

then all i can do is flag it

10:50 AM
We're talking about this question
we don't think it is closeable, but the answer seems dangerous
@guntbert thought you might have an idea on whether it was closeable (or another way to fix it)

It IS !!
14.04 relys completely on 2.7
but as far i can tell python should be in /usr/bin
would have to install a 14.04 VM to test it

yeah but they installed an extra version alongside, in /usr/local, apparently
but it's unclear what else they did imho. They messed things up!

I think too, but hey let me get a coffee, my brain just did BIOS POST and tells me coffee is missing

anyway, I don't think this question has value... I'd rather it were deleted than anything else. OP didn't respond to comments, so I consider it abandoned

OT - the audit system seems to develop a sense of humour :-)

11:00 AM
haha even I would probably have passed that one

:)
good song to start your day with :D
and don't worry the dialect they're singing in is even hard to understand for a native German :)

lol

its called 'Köllsch' the pure dialect from the cologne area

11:15 AM
oh that's interesting... I know nothing about German dialects

I'd have to hear it too often for my liking to understand anything beyond "kaffeebud" and "weihnachtsmann" - south of Austria here

@guntbert it litteraly comes down describing a situation at half past 9 where anyone comes running to the coffeebooth, where they then stand and pouring coffee down their heads(throats) (literal translation)
i could try to translate it
sighs
@Videonauth I installed openssh-server and allowed port in iptables using " sudo iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport ssh -j ACCEPT " and it worked. do not know how but can you shed any light on it ? — MiHawk 5 hours ago
and i asked him for logs, and asked him why he installs shellinabox from a git repo instead of the repositories
well however that song above is my life long catchy tune it seems, i have this in my mind when waking up

@Zanna regarding [this](https://askubuntu.com/a/988021). I'm about to post following comment:
Welcome to Ask Ubuntu. I'm sure you are trying to help, but telling someone to just google for is not the format we expect as an answer. So my suggestion is to provide an actual step by step instruction how to delete the configs or how to start off with a fresh user directory.

Any thoughts on that before i hit send?

please do send that comment
answers saying "google it" are my pet hate

The user answered a few questions in short timeframe but all of his answers arnt really great material, but i see the willingness to help, so a bit guidance might be useful

@Zanna although I have even done that myself!

Well self reflection is the best way to betterment
:)

actually I basically write something like that in every answer about compiling
because there's no way to account for every possible idiosyncracy of the reader's system
so at some point in the compile process they might get an error and the answer can't predict every possible error
so I have to sheepishly write "er you might get an error I haven't thought of here, in which case, searching online for the error might possibly help you to fix it"
@Videonauth lol true

1:25 PM
erm he replied to my comment, but im now not sure how to phrase it properly that i not want to belittle him but just want to guide him

god, i was hoping for a good certbot question but it was only a bump of one i answered already and then deleted my answer askubuntu.com/q/981955

ah sorry for bumping...
can't shed any light there myself

well I'm sure he messed up somewhere but was reluctant to see it inside my answer, this is why I deleted it.

@Zanna i not meant to say your question on meta is bad :) it is just my opinion, and im just one of th e many users of the site :)

oh no worries...
but I was trying to clarify what I said in my question rather than defend it
I think the opinion you gave was that a glitch is not necessarily [caused by] a bug - I agree with that

I agree in that many questions wiithin this scope need a retag because they not really apply to what i call glitch

but do you think is a useful tag for this site? Can we consistently define glitch and does it express anything that can be usefully tagged?
@Videonauth why isn't that a glitch? I think a glitch just means... a minor problem of some kind! it is a vague word

Not sure about that, this is why i only commented and not wrote an answer to that. if we keep it we should make clear what counts as glitch and what is a bug

(anyway I edited the post)
afaik is a blacklisted tag
because it would be a terrible useless tag if we had it

8:12 PM
@Zanna at least it has no content showing up
in this case yes getting rid of glitch makes sense
as well as would be a problematic tag to explain whats a problem

haha that would be the worst tag possible

yes what many see as a problem, would be no problem at all for others

haha that's one issue with it
