@DanielFischer @quid @arjafi Can you delete all my existing rooms (also the frozen ones)? I do not need them.

user84215
9:04 AM
How can I delete my rooms?

9:21 AM
@MathematicsAminPhysics You don't have to worry about that. After some time of inactivity, the rooms are automatically frozen or deleted.

user84215
But I want to delete all of them now.

user84215
Moderators can do it. Right?

I believe they can at least freeze a room. You saw yourself that this room was deleted by a moderator.
I am not sure whether number of messages influences whether a mod can only freeze a room or whether it can be deleted. (But I think that there is not much difference between the two in practice.)
Are there actually some rooms where you are an owner and which are not frozen? (And even if there are, is that really that urgent so that it cannot wait a few days until the automated process does this?)

user84215
I have many useless rooms. I want them to be deleted. This is very hard for the moderators?

I only see two rooms where you are owner and which are not frozen: Room for MathematicsAminPhysics and Martin Sleziak and Room for MathematicsAminPhysics and Will Hunting.
@MathematicsAminPhysics I can't answer that - this seems as a question for the mods.

user84215
9:32 AM
I have pinged them in chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/20352/math-mods-office , but I think they will not respond to me as before.

Yes, I have noticed that you have pinged them in Math Mods' Office less than an hour ago. To me waiting a bit on their response seems like the best strategy.
If you want some help from moderators on that, you should probably be a bit more specific in you message in Mods' Office - you did not say which rooms are you talking about. (As I said, I only see the two rooms mentioned above.)

user84215
I have mentioned: "all my existing rooms (also the frozen ones)".

To be honest, I am not sure whether there is a difference between frozen and deleted room from the practical viewpoint. (In particular, people still can read transcript of a deleted room.)

user84215
How?

Anyway, if there really is something to do, maybe mods can help you.
@MathematicsAminPhysics Like in the way I linked above to your deleted room.

user84215
9:44 AM
But I can not see anything.

user84215
That link says that "Page not found".

Oh, so maybe it is reputation thing?

user84215
Yes. High rep users can see anything.

Not really anything.
But I did not know about distinction for deleted rooms. Now I see that it is mentioned in this answer:
> The room has been deleted, so only moderators, room owners, and users with at least 10k network reputation can see it.
Still, according to that you should see that room since you are owner of that room.

user84215
Maybe that moderator has removed me from the list of the owners.

9:49 AM
When I look at the room info, you're listed as the only room owner.
Anyway, it seems that we are now quite far from the topic of this room. (And I am not sure whether there is much to add.)

user84215
We, low rep users, have a few very restricted privileges.

In case some of the room owners decides to move this messages away from this room, please, move them to my room rather than to the trash. (In case me and MathematicsAminPhysics decide to continue this conversation.)

user84215
If the owners may become upset, I will stop.

user84215
It is better not to continue this subject, I may be suspended again.

I don't think discussing who can see deleted rooms could in any way lead to suspension. In any case: 1) This is only very marginally related to the topic in this room; 2) I am not sure I have too much to add to things that were already said; 3) In any case, if you think there is more to talk about here, I can move the messages starting with "How can I delete my rooms?" to my room and we can continue there. (Let me know if you prefer this option.)

user84215
10:01 AM
I think if it is possible for you to ping the authorities, then they will respond to you and probably will delete my rooms. I think they will not respond to me since many people dislike me.

@MathematicsAminPhysics I have asked on the main meta whether the room owner should still see the room after deletion: Can room owners see their deleted rooms?

36 messages moved from C.R.U.D.E.

@MathematicsAminPhysics When I link to your logic chat room, can you see that one?

user84215
@MartinSleziak No.

It was deleted, but not by a moderator but by automated process. And you are list as room owner in the room info.
So probably it is better to use this one as an example - the other one has content which seems a bit sensitive.

user84215
10:13 AM
I also can not see the room info.

user84215
@MartinSleziak If you are interested in the bugs of the SE, please see also chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/39565006#39565006 and chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/39565032#39565032. Long post can not be shown completely in bookmarks.

Ok, we will see whether somebody will respond to the question on meta.SE. Anyway, the question whether or not room owners are supposed to see deleted rooms is only tangential to what you originally asked from the moderators. And, as I said, to me the best thing to do is to wait for the reply.
@MathematicsAminPhysics Well, if you found a , you can make a post about it. Meta.SE seems like the right place to do that, chat and chat-bookmarks seem like reasonable tags for such question.

user84215
I am not interested in them. I thought you may be interested in them.

user84215
I will never post anything on the Meta.

@MathematicsAminPhysics It's a different meta than from the one where you posted before. But do as you wish. (Of course, if you decided to post, you should include a detailed description.)
@MathematicsAminPhysics Even if I wanted to make a post about the bug you mention, from the information you've given here I do not see what the bug is supposed to be.
Or, to be more precise, I do not see a specific instance of a message displayed differently in chat transcript and in the bookmark.

user84215
10:25 AM

And which message is incomplete there?

user84215
Compare that transcript with its form in that bookmark.

I see. In the transcript you can click on "see full text", but in the bookmark you can't. (So you would have to use permalink or history to see the full text - and perhaps somebody might not notice that something is missing.)

user84215
Yes

10:29 AM
Here is somewhat related bug report: “See full text” link sometimes does not show in bookmarked conversations. Although based on that post, I would expect to see scrollbar there.

user84215
Yes.

Since we are already discussing the bug with not seeing chatroom, let's try a room which was frozen (not deleted). Such as Practising MathJax: here is transcript and room info.
Can you see the rooms linked in the previous message @MathematicsAminPhysics?

user84215
Yes.

Ok thanks. I'll at this information to my post with the bug report.

user84215
You are welcome.

10:59 AM
This is also about a post related to the bookmark thing - although maybe not exactly the same: Bookmarked conversations don't show the (see full text) link on big posts
Probably most of what we wrote above is not really relevant for this room. (Perhaps the exception is your message where you tried to contact mods.)
OTOH this room is known to have some off-topic chitchat occasionally.

@MathematicsAminPhysics I deleted your rooms as you requested.

@MathematicsAminPhysics I had thought that your MSE University idea was not for you, but for your 99% as you claim, but it appears I was wrong and that you were only trying to be selfish.

user84215
@quid Thanks.

user84215
@SimplyBeautifulArt I have not posted anything in that room recently. I do not understand what you say.

4 hours ago, by MathematicsAminPhysics
@DanielFischer @quid @arjafi Can you delete all my existing rooms (also the frozen ones)? I do not need them.

user84215
What is its problem?

user84215
12:34 PM
@SimplyBeautifulArt I am not the owner of the Planning MSE University room.

@SimplyBeautifulArt I did check briefly if there appeared to be something of general interested. The content of some "MSE University" room was earlier transferred to that planning room.

@MathematicsAminPhysics I assume this includes your MSE university rooms (the active one), but it is still here, so please excuse my mistake.

user84215
@SimplyBeautifulArt Never mind.

1:26 PM
This idea is going to generate a lot of heat before we see some light :-)

@skullpatrol heat generates light if you have enough of it ;D

:-D
@quid did I add enough info to the meta mathEd post?
I apologize, I was in a rush when I first posted it.

1:49 PM
@skullpatrol yes, thanks.

:-)

Recently there was some activity in calculus room related to functional analysis: chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/39640818#39640818
I guess that at least BAYMAX (who is currently reading through a functional analysis text) will probably ask a few more.
I wonder whether it would be possible to unfreeze the old functional analysis room. @quid (or any other moderator)
Of course, if it is preferable for some reason, we can create a new room.

Yes it would be good if the functional analysis room will be active once again!

1 hour later…
4:49 PM
@MartinSleziak I unfroze the room.

Thanks quid!
I hope I did not bother you too much. (I know there are other mods too, but since it seemed to be online not too long before I came here to ask for unfreezing, I tried to ping you.)

@quid I recently posted this question here:
19
Q: Is a number meeting these conditions divisible by forty-nine?

AraucariaI am not a mathematician, I'm a linguistics PhD student. As part of my research I need to put various convoluted sentences through various syntactic transformations and see then check whether people think they are true or not. Mathematical statements (well, some of them) suit my purposes very wel...

@Araucaria Alright. But what about it? :-)

@quid Hang on I'm trying to dig the sentence out of my thesis, but it's not popping up. Give me a sec and I'll be right with you ... :)
@quid OK, got it. I want to ask whether the following sentence is true:
If, if the number is divisible by seven, it is itself an integer, then if it is a square number, it is divisible by forty-nine.
I'm a bit worried that it will be closed as a duplicate - even though, depending on how you view conditionals, it isn't. But I don't want a big hoo-ha about it , or to annoy anyone. Any advice?
The background is that the question is asked about a single concealed number.

5:12 PM
@Araucaria you could link to the old question and explain why it is not a duplicate. This may solve the issue. If ever it is still closed and you are willing to just accept this there is likely not much controversy about it. Disclaimer: I am not a moderator of this site. I have just mod power in chat as I moderate another site. But I am somewhat familiar with this site, too.

@quid Thanks for the advice. Are you a mathematician by any chance?
Oh, my lift's arrived. Will check back later ...

@Araucaria yes. see you.

5 hours later…
9:54 PM
@DanielFischer, @arjafi I was really hoping one of the mods would post an answer to this meta question. Are there any guidelines, no just for serial up or down voting, but what about "serial closing/deleting" of one user's posts? I commented there in a somewhat moderate way, but I'd really like to hear from a moderator.
