3:18 PM
Why are all of AJ's pleads for a chat comment to be shown starred?

3:29 PM
@steelershark the correct answer is . . . because someone starred them

Hahahaha! Thanks for that clarification ;)

@steelershark you're welcome. 20 bucks

@steelershark so, what else is going on?

Nothing much. Just got off of work. Relaxing after a really long night :)

3:35 PM
> No taxation without relaxation!

@steelershark funny, same thing here

@M.A.R. Really? Did you have a long day at work, too?

@NapoleonWilson Is that from a movie?
@Riker My son!!!! How are you?!!!

@steelershark well, I'm helping mom at the pharmacy, but it's still work

3:39 PM
@steelershark It's from a famous political movement, I thought.

@M.A.R. Hehehe! Yeah...understandable ;)

The modified version might be more famous, though.
"No Taxation Without Representation" is a slogan originating during the 1750s and 1760s that summarized a primary grievance of the American colonists in the Thirteen Colonies, which was one of the major causes of the American Revolution. In short, many in those colonies believed that, as they were not directly represented in the distant British Parliament, any laws it passed affecting the colonists (such as the Sugar Act and the Stamp Act) were illegal under the Bill of Rights 1689, and were a denial of their rights as Englishmen. Jonathan Mayhew, Old West Church’s second Congregational pastor...

@NapoleonWilson Well...I thought that it was "representation" instead of "relaxation" ;)
I'm totally ruining your joke... ;)

@steelershark Well, I gave you the lesser known original version.

<confused squirrel shark>

3:43 PM
No need to be confused, I'm just talking bullshit, since you put me in the defense by ruining my joke. ;-P

No taxation without ruination

> No relaxation without urination!
That even makes sense.

No relaxation without defecation?
Well, that escalated quickly

It's not escalated till someone says mastur...forget it.

Hehehe!
That would be the expert that baits your fishing rod! The master baiter! ;)

3:51 PM
@M.A.R. this can be safely unpinned now CC @Nap
Pinging yourself is weird

A J
@NapoleonWilson Huh? If this is what I think you're talking about, then I have one.

The median score of the first page of newest meta posts right now is -38/15

@M.A.R. Napoleon pings himself all of the time! Or, at least he used to ;)

@AJ Uh...if you "have one", I'm not sure it's really what I was talking about. Anyway, let's move on. ;-)

@AJ we're not talking about mustard

3:55 PM
@AJ HAHAHA!! TMI :P

@M.A.R. It's not, it's an easy way to make addenda to your own messages while establishing a proper reference without having to complicatedly explain what you're actually talking about.

@NapoleonWilson your mouth is decapitated on my screen
@NapoleonWilson yes. And it's weird.

Poor AJ. We are obviously talking about two separate things ;)

A J
@NapoleonWilson Nah. Listen to it once. If necessity is the mother of invention then frustration is the father of m.............

Ooooh...you had a quote!

3:56 PM
Suddenly getting a ping that you half-expected is weird

@M.A.R. See. I told you he likes pinging himself ;)

@AJ Yeah, that's quite nice indeed.

@AJ oh I know this one! I know this one! Mayonnaise

Hehehe!

A J
LOL.

3:57 PM
@AJ nitrogen oxide?
That doesn't even start with an M

A J
@NapoleonWilson What do you mean by have one? ;P

You're the one that said have one, silly!

A J
Because I have one.

@AJ Um...that's exactly what you said. I was confused what you meant with "have one".

Unless the real question is "What do you mean by "what do you mean by "have one"?""

4:02 PM
This conversation is totally making me laugh ;)

A J
@NapoleonWilson Ohh.., I guess you took otherwise when I said I have one. ;)

I know that I did ;)

I didn't know how to take it at all.

Movie of the day: The Edge

Awesome!!!

A J
4:03 PM
@steelershark hahaha

@M.A.R. Nice choice!

A J
@NapoleonWilson Don't be I-do-not-know-at-all person. ;) I know that you know.

@M.A.R. Bart the bear should've got an Oscar nomination for that movie! He definitely steals the show!

Anytime now @Ankit says something like "I like ther plot but Anthony Hopkins could better"

Now go ask some question about it that we don't have to crack down on in the first few seconds (which should be okay as long as you don't ask what that film with Alec Baldwin and a bear was).
@AJ No, I had absolutely no idea how you used those words there. But I also think that topic has outlived its shelf-life.

4:06 PM
@NapoleonWilson I have taken the oath of no-posts-on-mobile

A J
What do you call a witch made out of sand?

So you gotta wait until I get my hands on a laptop that doesn't make me cry until I type a sentence

A...sand-witch?

A J
Right

Dädäh dädäh dädäh!

A J
4:07 PM
I am going to make some sandwiches.

Harharharhar
@AJ cool
Make some for me too

A J
ok.

Unless there are witch trials
And this is all a trap

@NapoleonWilson I knew it!

4:09 PM
It's a trap!

Wait, then WHAT IS LIFE???

A J

Is it not just <enter a philososociopathological dilemma >? Huh huh?

@NapoleonWilson You mean a question about The Edge that should have qualified for an animals in movies ToW question? ;)

@steelershark I...don't know? Is this a reference to one of those millions of incidents where I allegedly robbed you of your ToW win? ;-P

4:12 PM
@NapoleonWilson Well, you didn't rob me of it in this instance. You just said that that movie wouldn't qualify for the challenge...just sayin' ;)

Oh, really? Awww!

Napoleon likes to rob people of ToW challenges. It gives him a huge thrill ;)

Oh, right, because it wasn't about "animals in movies" rather than movies centred around animals, I remember. ;-P
@steelershark No, just doing that to you, muahahaha! ;-P

The Edge is all about the bear, though! C'mon! ;)

grabs popcorn

4:15 PM
@NapoleonWilson Awwwww. You know that you can do that to me whenever you want to ;)

YES!!!!!

I gatago naodo.

I got the 3 dots from Napoleon! My day is now complete! ;)

See, then I can leave in peace. ;-)

4:17 PM
Why is the rabbit unafraid?

@NapoleonWilson Uhm...bye?

@steelershark Awww, it's not because of you, I have a scheduled thing. :-*

@M.A.R. Because he's smarter than the panther!

o_O
Is that some palindrome thing?

@NapoleonWilson I know, silly bean! I was trying to interpret your gibberish and I was assuming that you were saying goodbye ;-*

4:19 PM
Guys you know, once I read an, uh, interesting book that said people lost in chatrooms die of chat flags. O.o

Anyway, I really have to go. I'm excited to see what it's about when I come back. ;-)

@NapoleonWilson It's a quote from The Edge
<shakes head>
Sometimes I wonder why I keep him around :P
@M.A.R. Hehehe!
Nice!

Hmm, I could swear I had the downvote ability on M&TV
I should suggest some edits on SO and M&TV

You don't have enough rep to down vote here?

I think I had 127, but two of the posts I edited got deleted or disowned probably
Still, it's extremely painful to edit on mobile

4:30 PM
You could always ask or answer a question... ;)

NOOOOOooooooo . . .

A J
I am back after having some sandwiches.

You sound like Walt. Walt is our highest rep user and he's never asked a question! Ankit will give a bounty to anyone who coerces Walt into asking a question ;)
@AJ What kind of sandwiches?

A J
grilled cheese with some vegetables.

And no meat?

A J
4:39 PM
I am vegetarian

Hamburgers, sausages . . . Oh

Ankit and AJ are herbivores ;)

@steelershark so I'm now thinking DrRDizzle is carnivorous

@M.A.R. I actually don't know if Dizzle is carnivorous. I know that he would like to take a bite out of Ankit every now and then ;)

Right now I'm searching for "I have a doubt" on SO, and editing questions with a positive score

4:53 PM
I would be so out of my element on SO...

@steelershark editing on SO is way too easy
Smaller sites pose a challenge

RIP John Heard.

@MattD :(

@MattD Wut? NO! :'(

This is what I meant by this chat not being able to cover everyone though

5:05 PM
Yeah...exactly.

Noooo
SO's edit queue is full

Elections. Always

WTH are the reviewers doing? Argh
Flipping a table

A J
I think I should go and review them.
There is nothing to review

Trying to improve their candidate scores.

A J
5:18 PM
Is American Psycho a good movie?/ cc @steelershark

Ridde me this: Someone said "hello" in one of the chats I'm in, but I have no idea which chat it is
@AJ it's awesome-ish

A J
ohh

I mean, whatever we say, you might not end up enjoying it

@AJ Yes!!! Great movie!! It's kinda dark comedy. Not a lot of people get it, but I love that movie!

Would it make a difference if Christian Bale almost won an Academy award for his role?

A J
5:20 PM
no

He should have won for Pat Bateman. Definitely.

A J
lol

It's got a great cast. Christian Bale, Reese Witherspoon, Jared Leto, Willem Dafoe.
The comparison of the business cards is my favorite scene. It's frigging hilarious.

A J
cool

Time for sleep. See you guys :)

5:28 PM
Nighty night
Don't let Napoleon bite

A J
haahahah
@steelershark bye

@steelershark cast isn't everything... ever seen Movie 43?

6:14 PM
Teehee, someone's not fond of my editing out Indianisms on SO
Hey @Blue

Oh, apparently I do have a rejected edit on SO, and it's a conflict with a subsequent edit

6:49 PM
Can't sleep. Posting questions. Another Se7en question @BlueMoon93 :)

A J
Nice.
Would you try for Christopher Nolan Challenge?

Also...it has always driven me crazy that they never say what city the movie is set in. All signs point to NYC, but when they drive to the place where John Doe takes them at the end, it's almost like a desert. They only drive for an hour, so that has just never made sense to me
@AJ I don't know. His movies are so intertwined with stuff, I wouldn't even know what to ask. I also just don't know any of them well enough to ask. Maybe I will do a Steelers one from The Dark Knight Rises :)

A J
The Prestige, Memento, Insomnia, Inception
@steelershark Other than that Pittsburgh Steelers one?

All of the ones that you listed confused the hell out of me ;)

A J
lol
Include The Dark Knight series and Interstellar then. ;)

7:00 PM
Well, not the Prestige so much, but it's still got lots of twists with the whole twin thing that honestly did confuse me

A J
Yeah, it did me too.

I just know that I'm going to get "What's so confusing about it?" from Napoleon later ;)

A J
hahaha

@steelershark good!
sorry I had to go mow the lawn after I sent that
back now tho

Woot!

Q: Can you remember what that film called?

SpenxazCan anyone remember quite old film, where Man and Woman got stranded in the Island, and the lady keep call the man's name Aston even thought it's not his name....? I remember the scene where on the beach Man explain her that Aston isnt his name, and lady roll away and said "Good night Aston!"

They said lantern
@MattD I am in

@AnkitSharma Yeah, I got pretty stoked about that.
Also really like that Flash will be used for some comic relief, though I wish they were using Wally West instead of Barry Allen, and I still think his lightening should be yellow.

@steelershark Oh, right, I think I remember now!

10:07 PM
So they said there is no lantern that means there is no earth lantern yet? Or they are all out fo earth right now?
@MattD they are using Barry only and confirmed it also

@AnkitSharma I know, I'm saying if they're going for more of a smart ass character, Wally would be the better fit.
And unless there's an interview I haven't seen yet, we have no idea why earth doesn't have a GL yet. Could be the Guardians don't consider our sector to have need of any.

@steelershark I guess it just looks like desert because of the bleak Fincher-colouring.
@steelershark Okay, but Insomnia isn't really that diffidult to get, it's rather straight-forward.

@MattD maybe because Gaurdian think earth have no risk and after JL they will reconsider and Green lantern Corp film will come in light

@AnkitSharma That's the general line of thinking I'm seeing from people talking about the latest trailer.

yeah

10:12 PM
Would make sense as they apparently plan a new solo GL film either in 2019 or 2020.

@John hello o/
@Memor-X hello o/
@MattD hmmm

@AnkitSharma morning

Also, the 90s kid in my squealed with joy watching this last night.

@Memor-X I have not slept yet
Only 3:45 AM

Wait, is J. Jonah Jameson Commissioner Gordon?

10:18 PM
Yes

And Bruce is still living in his awesome Farnsworth House inspired temporary home! \o/

Are you living under the rock lately

@MattD I...have zero idea what to make of this, though.

@NapoleonWilson It's basically All The References: The Movie.

I mean, it got a ton of nice pop-culture references in it and I usually love me some cool pictures in a trailer, but seriously, this is just a ton of that and nothing else really.

10:22 PM
@NapoleonWilson 'Tis a teaser.

Yeah, but I'm sure Mr. Spielberg could have found a nice and, frankly, more interesting way to advertize his movie.

He likely doesn't have much say in how the trailers are put together.

I don't know what to say, and I'm not sure I ever said that about a trailer, but this is the epitome of looking "super fun" while at the same time incredibly boring and just...uninteresting.
I have zero idea what this is about.

Q: What's the name of this quite old italian love movie?

Alexandra SileaI am looking for an italian (quite old, maybe from the 80 or 90, not quite sure) love story movie. It is a forbidden love story (one of them, maybe the man is rich and his parents don't agree with the marriage) set near a lake (one of the biggest in italy). Eventually they get married and they...

I don't necessarily need a trailer to tell me everything about the movie's story, but then it at least has something else enticing going for it, some kind of mystery, while this just seemed to smash about 75 unrelated and without a doubt awesome films together into a jumbled mix.
It certainly was a great trailer for whatever awesome VR game this kid is playing.
I start to sound like Dizzle, though. Whenever the words "character development" cross my mouth, you have to promise to punch me.

10:30 PM
@AnkitSharma Hello to you too.
@steelershark gave me a shout and thought I would stop by.

@NapoleonWilson same here, people loosing there shit over Iron Giant there and I am like so?
@John where have you been

@NapoleonWilson For now it's just amazing that they seemed to get the rights to reference stuff from franchises Warner Bros. doesn't even own.

@John you should always stop by

@MattD Well, sure.
But didn't LEGO already achieve that?
We already saw Milhouse in a film with Gandalf.
So if all that trailer has going is Azok driving a Delorian, I...don't know.

That roger rabbit film that 100 years ago

11:04 PM
Man, kinda wishing my wife and I looked for Hamilton tickets in Chicago for later next month. Could have made out way to the southern part of Illinois to possibly view the total solar eclipse.
Guess my next chance will be in 2024 when it'll graze a large portion of northwestern Ohio. May look to travel further west and south though.
