@ChinmayaB which Kurma Purana verse are you referring to... ?...
@ChinmayaB Yes, I agree with you.. Vishnu (Vamana) is one of the Aditya... But I don't think the concept of Manvantara can be used for Vedas... as Vedas are eternal...
@ChinmayaB but what I want to say is... It is Lord Rudra himself who is in the form of Aditya (Sun) himself ....Shatapatha Brahmana clearly says it (also Vishnu and Linga Purana)... see it through the links given in my answer here...
http://hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/10524/whats-the-relation-between-lord-shiva-and-lord-shani-dev/17075#17075

2:02 AM
@Tezz We also say aasaavaadityo brahma in sandhyavandanam. This sun is brahma.

2 hours later…
4:06 AM
@ChinmayaB Yes. I agree. That's the reason there are non-vedic religions in our country.

@Tezz Kurma Purna verse which says Shiva comes in Kali Yuga to revive Vedanta.
So, Adi Shankara is really Shiva.
@ChinmayaB I think you are referring Pancharatra Agamas.
@Tezz vajasaneyi samhita of Shukla Yajurceda was said by Lord Surya to Yajnavalkya.
haha.

5:07 AM
@TheDestroyer yes... actually there are three levels of Rishis in Vajasaneyi Samhita:...
3
A: Has the Anukramani of the Shukla Yajur Veda ever been published in any form?

TezzThe Anukramani of Shukla Yajurveda Vajasaneyi Samhita is available in this book named Yajurveda Samhita. It gives "Prakaran" which means to which ritualistic purpose is it used, "Rishi" which means who heard the mantras, "Devata" which means to which God is it addressed and "Chhanda" which means ...

@SreeCharan yes, the Sun is Brahman is also told in Chandogya Upanishad:...

@Tezz Good answer. But i upvoted long ago. But i understand it now.
Is it same for two recensions of Sukla Yajurveda?

@TheDestroyer haha... sometimes it happens for me also...
@TheDestroyer I'm not sure... but I think it is...

@Tezz I think 3rd level Rishi should change.

@TheDestroyer maybe it changes.. or another person with same name hears it... haha..😀😀

@Tezz why do many recensions exist?
They are Sakhas right?

5:22 AM
@TheDestroyer yes.. there are 1100+ Shakhas...

@Tezz Do Shukla Yajurveda and Krishna Yajurveda differ in content? For example, Taittriya Samhita of Krishna and Vajasaneyi samhita of Shukla

@TheDestroyer Namaskaram 💐➡What's new mail ID 📧

@SwiftPushkar Namaskaram! i updated in my profle description. depository instead of repository

@TheDestroyer Taittariya Samhita (Krisnha Yajurveda) is mix of Samhita + Brahmana... while Vajasaneyi Samhita (Shukla YajurVeda) is Pure Samhita only...

@TheDestroyer oh ok , i will check that out 😊👍👍

5:42 AM
@Tezz ohh ok. As Yajnavalkya vomited both Brahmana and Samhita.

@SreeCharan Physics ad is updated. — Pandya 1 min ago

@Pandya Tamasica and Rajasica People.

@TheDestroyer Who are Tamasica People?

@Pandya On Physics SE..lol

@Tezz may be happy to see image of Maharshi Kanada!

5:48 AM
@Pandya It's like seeing his own reflection. :P

@Pandya Hmm. nice.. there is also my answer there...

@Tezz Yes, just voted up!

@Pandya haha...👍👍
@Pandya if there is SE related to space-time you can add this question and answer:...
5
A: Where do Vedas state Universe being a projection in space-time?

Tezz19.53 is a Hymn to Kala in Atharvaveda also known as Kala Sukta. In it's third verse it states: पूर्ण कुम्भोदिः काल आहितस्तं वै पश्यामो बहुदा नु सन्तः । [AtharvaVeda 19.53.3] A full pot has been placed in Time and it is that which we see manifoldly. Here a full pot ie. Purna Kumbha repre...

@Tezz Yes, I think it can also be put on Physics.SE. You may try.
But I think more than one ad for our site at the same place (physics.SE) may be too much! Haha :P

@Pandya haha... maybe we do it next year...

5:58 AM
@Tezz Yes, Btw, I hope/wish our site graduated in this year! /cc @TheDestroyer

@Pandya wow nice graphics , have u created that 😊👍👍

@Pandya SE should not feel doubt in graduating our site as our site has excellent visit per day 6000+ per day...

@SwiftPushkar Yes. (Though the image of Maharshi Kanada is taken from web).

@Pandya I also hope and wish so...

@Tezz Yes, but Questions/Day and % Answered is low :(

6:03 AM
@Pandya - Ok , the idea is grt👍

@Pandya It's very difficult to increase % answered..
New unanswered questions are added day by day...

@Tezz Yes, but I think new users (with bit knowledge) should start to provide answers to simple questions.
I see we're getting some simple questions which can be answered by new contributors also.
In brief, I think we need more contributors.

@Pandya what I think is most of the unanswered questions (except questions of @KeshavSrinivasan) can at least be partially answered... but we are not trying... yes, we need more contributor for it.. (as a sidenote question of Keshava can't be partially answered also because one doesn't know how to form even partial answers for his questions haha)..😀😀

@Tezz Keshav Srinivasan effect is a different thing! Hehe

@KeshavSrinivasan haha lol...

6:25 AM
@Tezz I think Keshava should answer some of his questions. I think he should stop posting his questions til graduation. By this, we can able to increase % of answered questions.

@TheDestroyer actually I have few questions to ask but I haven't asked them... as I'm waiting for graduation...

@Tezz yeah. Even i have two questions but i think none can answer them. Linga Purana praises Shiva as "You are Vasista among the sages". I think none can answer this.

Mahabharata also says it:
4
Q: What are the Vibhutis of Lord Shiva as told in Mahabharata?

TezzVibhuti means through which potency of Lord is expressed. Bhagvad Gita 10th chapter is itself named as Vibhuti Yoga and we find several descriptions about Vibhuti of Lord there like: आदित्यानामहं विष्णुर्ज्योतिषां रविरंशुमान् । मरीचिर्मरुतामस्मि नक्षत्राणामहं शशी ॥१०- २१॥ Of the Adityas ...

@Tezz More importantly, we should answer old questions which lack proper references.

पर्वतानां भवान् मेरुर्नक्षत्राणां च चन्द्रमा ।
वसिष्ठस्त्त्वमृषिणां च ग्रहाणां सूर्य उच्यते ।।

You are Meru among the mountains. You are Chandrama among the Nakshtras. You are Vasistha among the Rishis and Surya among the planets.

6:31 AM
@Tezz Do you know why?

@TheDestroyer I think he has already stopped comparatively to Keshav.SE

@Tezz but Krishna says he is Brigu in Bhagavadgita. Do you know what maked Vaista special?

@TheDestroyer I think it's just common representation as Vasistha is one of the exalted sage... also Mahamrityunjaya Mantra in RigVeda is heard by Vasistha...

in Hinduism, yesterday, by Sree Charan
बहुत दिनों से देख रहा हूँ, हमारा site BETA ही रहने लगी| पता नहीं कब बाप बनेगी ! 😀

@TheDestroyer seven sages denote Sapta Prana... there is a chapter in Satapatha Brahmana explaining it...
@SreeCharan haha...

6:33 AM
@Tezz For me greatest is Dadichi to whom even Sudarshana Chakra couldn't do anything.
@SreeCharan haha. Good one.

@TheDestroyer LOL.

@Tezz can you answer it? I will post a question.

@TheDestroyer yes, Dadhichi is also one of the greatest sages.. it is he who heard Isha Upanishad...
@TheDestroyer which question?..

@Tezz Explanation for Dadichi is good. Dadichi has achieved Shiva Tattva (or he became Shiva) and Sudharshana Chakra can't do anything for Shiva just like Trisulam for Vishnu.
@Tezz Vasista

@TheDestroyer @Pandya @Tezz questions per day is currently 4.6

6:36 AM
@SreeCharan इसकेलिए दिन तो क्या, महीने और वर्ष भी लग शकते है!

@TheDestroyer I think it becomes just a general answer.. as Vasistha not only heard Mahamrityunjaya mantra but also many other mantras of RigVeda....

@Pandya he he...

@Tezz yeah. Not specific answer.

@SreeCharan Yes, better than <4. I've once seen >5 but for very less time!
@SreeCharan Hehe

@Pandya I think it was during the period of Amit Saxena
@TheDestroyer Brihadaranyaka Upanishad says:
II-ii-4: These two (ears) are Gotama and Bharadvaja: this one is Gotama, and this one is Bharadvaja: These two (eyes) are Visvamitra
and Jamadagni: this one is Visvamitra, and this one Jamadagni. These two (nostrils) are Vasistha, and Kashyapa: this one is Vasistha, and this one Kashyapa: the tongue is Atri, for through the tongue food is eaten. ‘Atri’ is but this name ‘Atti’. He who knows it as such becomes the eater of all, and everything becomes his food.

6:40 AM
@AnkitSharma Btw, I've just thought (may be) better alternative:

@Tezz ok. For Supreme Brahman?

@TheDestroyer this is in the context of explaining this:

@Tezz >5 Questions/Day may be mentioned in Saxena Smriti! Hehe

II-ii-3: Regarding this there is the following pithy verse: ‘there is a bowl
that has its opening below and bulges at the top; various kinds of
knowledge have been put in it; seven sages sit by its side, and the
organ of speech, which has communication with the Vedas, is the
eighth’. The ‘bowl that has its opening below and bulges at the top’ is
the head of ours, for it is the bowl that has its opening below and
bulges at the top. ‘various kinds of knowledge have been put in it’,
refers to the organs; these indeed represent various kinds of
@Pandya haha..lol..

@Pandya laughed for 1 min. haha..

6:44 AM
@TheDestroyer Hehe Haha!

@Pandya we may ask for Rickross to know whether it is present in that Smriti or not... haha... 😀😀

@Tezz Yes. He will search everywhere on the earth. :D

@Tezz Hehe. After recognizing his knowledge in Dharma Shashtras, I've considered to add him @ meta.hinduism.stackexchange.com/a/730/277

@SreeCharan haha... he has advanced knowledge in Smritis (and Tantras also)...
@Pandya you may also add sv. In that.. he is also answering questions deeply these days..

Jan 23 at 17:08, by The Destroyer
@Pandya Yes, @sv is helping everyone these days. haha..
@Tezz Btw, Rickross has rejected Shruti-Smriti classification:
@Pandya Where in our Scriptures you found this classification?That all Hindu Scriptures belong to either of these two kinds?By Smrits Hindu Texts specifically mean the Dharma Shastras ..by Puranas the Puranas..by Srutis the Vedas and so on.. — Rickross Jan 19 at 6:59

6:51 AM
@Pandya context is bit diferent. I said he was editing questions which were unclear, and by removing personal details from questions
@Pandya Rickross is from Bengal. So, he gives importance to Tantra.

@TheDestroyer I've just shared similar talk by you.

@Pandya by it he mean triad classification: Shruti Smriti and Purana...

@Pandya Yes he considers only dharmashastras as smritis.

@Tezz But Puranas also Smriti.

Questions of sakthi are complex than that of Keshava:
1
Q: Is Dristhi (Evil Eye) Pottu,Photos and other activities for dristhi is said in our scriptures?

Sakthi Dristhi pottu for new babies are applied as a black dot in their cheek to escape from Evil Eye. Industries have scary photos in its gate as to escape from Evil eye of the other. When a person looks very jealously or other bad emotions about the other persons wealth,beauty,fame is said to be an E...

Haha...

6:53 AM
Sakthi can be named as bounty man.

@Tezz they have "Sakthi" in them. haha.

@TheDestroyer haha lol...

@TheDestroyer So, Does Tantra have great significance in East India?

@SreeCharan lol... excellent name.. Bounty man...

@Pandya Not east India. Bengal is dominated by shakti Worship. So, Tantra has significance there.

6:55 AM
@TheDestroyer in two level classification Shruti and Smriti... and Smriti includes all except Shruti...

@TheDestroyer oh! ok.

@Tezz @TheDestroyer If he hadn't offered bounties (one includes 200). he would reach near to 800.

@Pandya Ramakrishna paramahamsa was Krishna devotee but later changed to kali devotee. He and vivekananda used to converse with Kali Mata.
@SreeCharan yeah.

@SreeCharan haha... true..
@Sai writes excellent answers... but don't know why he is inactive nowadays...

@Tezz @TheDestroyer What about:
The Harita Samhita also says that Agamas are Shruti. Yamunacharya's Agamapramanya and Jayanta Bhattar's Agamadambara also discuss at great length the fact that the Pancharatra Agamas are Shruti. — Keshav Srinivasan ♦ Sep 16 '15 at 15:10

6:57 AM
@TheDestroyer There are 3-4 videos about drishti on dharmasandehalu. Currently watching them. But different scholars said different remedies.

@Pandya i think harita Samhita is Ayurvedic work.

@TheDestroyer @Tezz Irony is that two of them went unanswered and other was awarded to an unsourced answer.

@SreeCharan I'm reluctant to post Dharm Sandhehalu videos these days.

@Pandya first of all Agamas are not Shruti is already held by Mimamsa Sutras... and secondaly Adi Shankaracharya rejects both Shaiva and Pancharatra Aagams...

@TheDestroyer Bounty may be Tantric way to transfer reputation for him! Hehe

6:58 AM
@SreeCharan haha ..

@TheDestroyer I understand.

@Pandya haha. Bounty is Shakti?
Then he is "Shakti"man. Hope he doesn't see my message.

@TheDestroyer can be....

@SreeCharan how?

@Pandya I'm undecided on Agamas. But many people consider Agamas as Shruti.

> बौधायन धर्मसूत्र, आपस्तम्ब धर्मसूत्र और वासिष्ठ धर्मसूत्रों में हारीत को बार–बार उद्धत किया गया है।

@Pandya Tantra and Agamas are different. Only Shakti Agamas are Tantras. Shaiva and Viashnava Agamas are just Agamas.

@TheDestroyer oh! yes.
@Tezz @TheDestroyer Is Harita Samhita and Harita Smriti related/connected? /cc @KeshavSrinivasan

7:03 AM
@Pandya considering Aagama as authoritative as Vedas will create huge problems...
2

@TheDestroyer Because they don't cite sources and say different reasons. Is there an other reason.

@SreeCharan Yeah. Same reason.

@Tezz Yes, that's why I've concern with authority of Harita & Harita Smriti (and may be Harita Samhita)

@TheDestroyer But I find some episodes helpful.

@Pandya I don't know...

7:05 AM
@Tezz I was planning to ask a question in our site but don't know how to frame. I mean like "Who was Harita &....." etc.

@Pandya looks good , edit it

@Pandya @Tezz Peterfreund site has Harita Samhita in Sanskrit in text format.

@Pandya @TheDestroyer @Tezz One of the reasons why % of answers is high in the early days is Be Happy and Keshav. They gave great answers. These days Keshav is posting questions than answers.

@Tezz Thanks for linking! (reading description....)
@TheDestroyer Note that I've more concern about Harita & Harita Dharma Sutra.

@Pandya Aagams are mentioned in Harita Samhita or Harita Smriti... ?...

Q: Which Shastras are more authoritative,the Smritis(Dharma Shastras) or the Puranas?

RickrossIn Hindu Dharma the Vedas,Upanishads,6 Vedangas,Smritis(or the Dharma Shastras),Puranas and the Itihasas(Ramayana and Mahabhartha) are usually together called the Shastras or Scriptures. Among them, the Vedas(Srutis) ,of course,are considered as having the supreme authority. The Smritis or the ...

@Pandya haha lol...

@Tezz @Pandya The reason many people halt before posting is they can't find sources from authentic sources.

@Pandya considering Aagama as authoritative as Vedas will create huge problems...
@Tezz Yes. We are already facing many problems in interpreting Vedas correctly.
This will further complicate the problem.

@TheDestroyer Ohh.. please. I am not enlightened as others n the room..

@SreeCharan you have posted just 37 answers...

@TheDestroyer Rickross has posted a question about myths and beliefs on Garuda purana some days ago. Did you see that?

Pradip is closer to 200 188 answers..

@SreeCharan Yes. I saw videos of Dharma Sandhehalu but couldn't find exact Verse location.

@SreeCharan sometimes I read Garuda Purana Pretha Khanda to instill fear in me. haha.

7:24 AM
This is what Samavedam shanukha sharma garu says. Listen when you have time.

@SreeCharan ok. I will see after lunch.

@TheDestroyer I haven't read Garuda Purana yet...

@Tezz Only Preta Khanda as it describes Naraka and Punishments. This is to not deviate from path of Adharma.
lol.
@Tezz I read Garuda Purana on Sacred texts but that is abridged.

@TheDestroyer I think that's the only khanda where there is a restriction when to read(am not sure). It became belief that it shouldn't be read on normal days.

@SreeCharan Yes. Garuda Purana has Brahma Khanda and Moksha Khanda too.
@SreeCharan Nothing happens if we Preta Khanda on normal days. It became belief.
Ohh.. i said Adharma.. lol Dharma*

7:29 AM
@Pandya change it on respective site too

@Tezz @SreeCharan But some punishments are unbelievable. They contradict rationality.
@SreeCharan Do you watch it in theater or wait for Rip?

@TheDestroyer We have to believe them. There shall be no being who says they are false.

@SreeCharan I feel Naraka is in different dimension and it is relative to person. For example, Naraka appears or manifests differently to me and it manifests or appears dfferently to you.
@SreeCharan Swami Nithyananda quotes a Vedic verse to support above statement.

@TheDestroyer I am not a theatre going person. I wait for rip or watch on TV. But when there are much awaited movies, I go to watch in theatres.

@SreeCharan ok.

7:38 AM
@TheDestroyer Well, there are many narakas. Every soul based on the karma enters different narakas. If the shraaddha karmas aren't done properly, the soul enters punnama naraka.

@SreeCharan Did you observe they showed Vishnu sleeping on Adisesha in one scene but again they showed Venkateswara with Padmavati and Lakshmi on something like floating Plane.
@SreeCharan That's not my point. My point is Naraka is relativistic. I see all narakas as different and you percieve them as different.
@SreeCharan I don't think Punnama theory is correct. All Christians and Muslims are not doing Shradda Karmas. Do they fall in Naraka? I think Shradda will reduce bad effects to certain extent. They stay in Pitri loka for some days.

@TheDestroyer I understand your POV.
@TheDestroyer They may fall. Who have seen?

@SreeCharan But i think they feel Naraka as described in their own literature. Indeed Supreme Lord is one. All these religions are created by him.
@SwiftPushkar Hi bro! when did you come? I haven't seen you coming to chat.

@TheDestroyer Yes christians believe that hell is in under earth.

@Tezz Shiva is a rudra not an Aaditya! I didn't mention Kurma Purana.
@Tezz I will confirm, but from what I rembember Keshava Told me that Current Manvantara avatar is Vamana so vedas Revere vamana.
@SreeCharan Sorry I don't remember what you are agreeing on.
@TheDestroyer Where am I referring to Pancharatra Agamas
@Tezz I think Aaditya Hrudayam is of doubtful authenticity

11:28 AM
18 hours ago, by Chinmaya B
@SreeCharan Do you agree that If vedas aren't interpreted correctly they will make conflicts
@ChinmayaB ^^^^
@ChinmayaB Aditya Hrudayam is from Valmiki Ramayana. So it is authentic.

11:43 AM
@ChinmayaB See linked comment.
@SreeCharan Few people believe Aditya Hridayam as unauthentic because Rama Himself (Avatar of Srimannarayana, the Supreme Lord) worshipped Lord Surya.

@TheDestroyer @SreeCharan Okay

@ChinmayaB Why don't you participating in reviewing?

12:01 PM
@SreeCharan I don't find it interesting, its tedious and boring

@ChinmayaB Ha Ha,,

@SreeCharan Even if Aditya hrudayam is to be true then Sri Rama Worshiped Antaryami Narayana i.e Narayana worshipped himself nothing else.

@ChinmayaB Yes. It might be the case.

@SreeCharan Will talk to you later Jai Shriman Narayana, It is the case, Narayana is antaryami of every being since he created everything from Himself his body Purusha Suktam
Even the creator was born out of his body

@SreeCharan Jai Sreeman Narayana.
@SreeCharan Does the verse you've quoted in question mention the colour of horses?

1:15 PM
@Pandya Jai sreemannarayana. the quote doesn't mention the color but I have seen many pictures with colored horses.

1:45 PM
@Tezz @SreeCharan @SwiftPushkar @KeshavSrinivasan Do you know which scripture has this sloka?
vidyA turAnAm na sukham na nidrA

@SreeCharan oh! ok. may be scientific speculation by some sites.
@KeshavSrinivasan Is the self referring to Jivatma or Paramatma according to Ramanujacharya for BG 13.23?

2:23 PM
@TheDestroyer Garuda puranam has a similar verse
 arthAturANAM na suhR^inna bandhuH kAmAturANAM na bhayaM na lajjA |

@Pandya @Tezz @TheDestroyer @SwiftPushkar To me, it's the first time.

@SreeCharan is it today's data..?

@Tezz Yes. Right now.

@SreeCharan Phalashruti of remembering Saxena Smriti 😀😀...

@Tezz Upanishads are shrutis too. aren't they?
@Tezz ROFL....

@SreeCharan yes, Upanishads are Shrutis...
@ChinmayaB by Aditya I didn't mean 12 Aditya Ganas... By Aditya I mean Sun God.. and Shatapatha clearly says "Rudra is the Sun..."
@ChinmayaB "Current Manvantara avatar is Vamana so vedas Revere vamana"... No, Vedas do not change in any Manvantara... They are eternal...
@ChinmayaB I don't see any reason to call Aditya Hridayam as unauthentic... the tone is also completely Vedic (ie matches with Valmiki Ramayana style)... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adityahridayam
@ChinmayaB Oh sorry... I didn't know I wrongly mentioned you in Kurma Purana verse...That was for The Destroyer ...

3:07 PM
@SreeCharan ok. I will check GP.
@Tezz Lol.
@SreeCharan Among all Upanishads, only Isha Upanishad is from Samhita (which is revealed to sages in deep meditation). Chapter 40 of Vajasaneya samhita of Shukla Yajurveda is Isha Upanishad.
Sorry also Nilarudra Upanishad.
Feb 5 at 6:55, by Tezz
@TheDestroyer No, NilaRudra Upanishad is also from Paipplada Samhita of Atharvaveda...

@TheDestroyer So all upanishads are not shrutis?

@SreeCharan No. All are Sruti. But Among Brahmanas, Samhita, Aranyakas of Vedas, only Samhitas are heard directly by sages in deep Tapasya.
Brahmanas are important mantras taken for rituals. Aranyakas are learned after going to forest (Aranya). They are not directly heard by sages by they provide summary of Samhitas.
Upanishads are knowledge portions or end portions.
Brahmanas and Aranyakas also have Upanishads.
Yesterday, my point was Sri Rudram is from Samhita, core portion of VEdas. Even Purusha Suktam is from Samhita. So, we must interpret them properly.
Some Acharyas revere all 4 parts equally but few give more importance to Samhitas.
I personally feel words of Samhitas should be given more importance over Brahmanas or Aranyakas.
@Tezz Only isha Upanishad is from Samhita. So, we shouldn't read it out like Vedic verses. But can we read verses of other Upanishads out?
@KeshavSrinivasan ^^
@SreeCharan Each Shakha has atleast one new Samhita. So, we lost many Samhitas, core portions.

Q: Does Veda has more than one Samhita regarding to Shakha?

PandyaAs I've discussed here, we know that ancient Rishi heard Vedic hymns in the state of Tapasya (deep mediation) which are called Shruti/Vedas. Vedas are divided into two parts Samhita - the (mantra) part of Veda seen/heard by Rishi & Brahman-Grantha - interpretation & commentaries on Samhita. Now ...

3:32 PM
@TheDestroyer I'm not sure... but even Brahmanas and Aranyakas have Swara marks in them...

@SreeCharan ok :) Similarly as sun's chariot described in SB and Vishnu purana ,Vayu purana describes chariot's of MOON ,BUDHA ,VENUS,MARS etc cc\ @pandya , There is description of sun's chariot in Vayu purana also.(chapter 52 vayu purana) (BOOK 2 Chapter 10 Vishnu purana)

@Tezz ohh ok, as they are Shruti they must have. But i think intonation doesn't play much role for Brahmanas and Arnayakas. But we shouldn't mess with Samhitas.

@TheDestroyer haha maybe...

@Tezz Brahmana mantras are exact veda Samhita mantras or Paraphrased Mantras?

@TheDestroyer @Tezz - Hii :)

3:38 PM
@SwiftPushkar Namaskaram!

@SwiftPushkar You can add Vayu Purana answer.

@TheDestroyer Brahamana explain Samhita parts and deal with rituals... for eg . The Samhita says "All these 33 Gods are contained in this..." Now, Samhita do not speak about who are these 33 Gods... but Brahmanas (for eg. Shatapatha Brahmana) explain it as: They are 8 Vasus, 11 Rudras, 12 Adityas, Indra and Prajapati...
@SwiftPushkar hi... how are you?..

@TheDestroyer I was outside in the morning , so was not able to chat in the morning:)

So, Brahmanas are useful in understanding Samhitas... @TheDestroyer

@Tezz ok. How Brahmanas and Aranyakas are different? Both explain Samhitas.

3:41 PM
@Tezz Very Good , wht. abt. You ? Hows winter over there , here no sign of cold :(

@TheDestroyer Brahmanas are primarily concerned with ritualistic part while Aranyakas are primarily concerned with Worship and Philosophical part...
@SwiftPushkar here also no sign of cold now..... 😀😀

@Tezz ok. So, Brahmanas shouldn't have any Upanishads?

@Tezz- ok @TheDestroyer - voted to del. Rakesh Joshi answer , also add comment abt .sources so that he will be aware of the rule

@SwiftPushkar i'm undecided on that. He quoted vedic verses but didn't mention source.

@TheDestroyer No, Brahmanas have Upanishads... like BrihadAranyaka upanushad is part if Brihad Aranyaka of Shatapatha Brahmana...
@TheDestroyer similarly Kena Upanishad is part of Talavakra Brahmana...

3:45 PM
@Tezz Ohh ok.

Which answer?... @SwiftPushkar

Q: Why casteism is based on birth rather than present Gunas & Karmas?

user367180I've seen many Brahmins & Kshatriyas (called) behaving like Shudras (called). Being wallowed in material pleasures,cruelty,ignorance etc. On the other hand we find many Shudras behaving like Brahmin, having spiritual qualities, tolerance, calmness etc. Then don't you think birth based system is f...

Oh ok...

@Pandya - Here is the indianscriptures.com link of chapter of Description of Sun's chariot from vishnu purana - indianscriptures.com/scriptures/puranas-18-puranas-mahapurana/… You can add that in your answer also :)

@SwiftPushkar It would be better if you provide answer as I don't not know much about Vishnu Purana.

4:01 PM
@SwiftPushkar Is the description same or do they differ?

@Pandya Oh , why to know abt it , I have given you the link , so just add the link in your answer , thats it , since you already given the answer its ok , you pls. add those ref. its ok :)

@SwiftPushkar You are welcome to add the answer.

@SreeCharan Almost same , but some puranas add some additional details , i will tell you more abt that later :)

@SwiftPushkar OK.

@SreeCharan Its ok , no problem , let @Pandya improve his answer , its the same altogether :) me or him

4:04 PM
@Tezz If brahmanas are concerened about Rituals, how Upanishads are present in Brahmanas?

@SwiftPushkar To be honest I've Gitapress Hard copy of Srimad Bhagavat and I've remembered some index of it that's how I searched and posted answer quoting those verses but I don't know much about Vishnu Purana. I think you may provide answer based on Vishnu Purana or If you want that reference be added to my answer, feel free to edit my answer!

@Pandya I also have Gita press Hard copy (english -marathi ) , with that its much easy to find answers. And one more thing ,All Vaishnav puranas chapters are almost same ie. Vishnu ,Vaman ,narasinha SB ,thses puranas are exact copies of each other ,same chapters , only sanskrit shlokas are different cc\ @TheDestroyer @Tezz @SreeCharan

@SwiftPushkar I do have only Srimad Bhagavata. Don't have Vishnu Purana.
@SwiftPushkar so, you may improve my answer by adding Vishnu Purana reference.

@Pandya ok i will do that :)

@SwiftPushkar धन्यवाद
@TheDestroyer just imagine you learned Sanskrit and Vedas in Vidyapitha or Veda-Pathashala! How about it? I mean how do yo feel?

4:22 PM
@Pandya why me alone or my opinion alone? :P

@Pandya - i will update your answer tomorrow , as i am writing some sanskrit shlokas right now also writing excerpt so wil take some time :)

@Pandya done

Why pinned comment is unpinned?

@TheDestroyer No bro , I will also love to join Ved-Pathshala , My city has several of them , but the rule over there is ,one must be of 8 years old to join there in the beginning , and one has to stay there until complition its like school only , but we all passed that age .So nobody will admit us there.:)

@SwiftPushkar haha. Yeah.
@SwiftPushkar but we can go to Ashramas and learn.

4:31 PM
@AnkitSharma - Hiiiiiiiiii How r u , I have visited karnataka last week , Gokarna , Murudeshwar , Udupi etc:)
@TheDestroyer yeah , true , say to Haridwar , lots of ashramas are there :)

@SwiftPushkar Yes. Rishikesh too.

@Tezz "as a sidenote question of Keshava can't be partially answered also because one doesn't know how to form even partial answers for his questions haha)..😀😀" Haha, at this point I would be satisfied if more people read my questions, let alone answering them.
@TheDestroyer Haha, I'm going to keep posting questions indefinitely.
@Tezz "actually I have few questions to ask but I haven't asked them... as I'm waiting for graduation..." I suggest you ask them now. I don't think graduation is in the near future, and in any case posting good questions should help get us to graduation.
@TheDestroyer No, both Shaiva Agamas and Shakta Agamas are referred to as Tantras.
@Pandya Harita was a solar dynasty king who was converted into a Brahmana by Vishnu in Sriperumbudur, which I discuss here:
4
Q: What scriptures describe Vishnu freeing the Bhutas from the curse of Shiva?

Keshav SrinivasanI just came back from a trip to India, and one of the places I visited was Sri Perumbudur. As I discuss here, it is the birthplace of the famous Sri Vaishnava Acharya Ramanujacharya. But my question about the Vishnu temple here, the great Adi Keshava Perumal temple. The story of this temple is...

4:47 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan Swami Prabhavananda says in his book "Spiritual heritage of India", only Shakti Agamas are Tantras.

@Pandya Ramanujacharya was a descendant of Harita, that's why he was born in Sri Perumbudur. Harita's descendants stayed in Sri Perumbudur serving the Adi Keshava Perumal temple.

@SwiftPushkar not visited those places yet, stuck with Banglore

@Pandya Harita was the grandson of Vishnu's devotee Ambarisha.

@AnkitSharma ok :) Although I have visited before , we just passed by Banglore (From electronics city bypass) , but why there is toll inside city for traveling ?

I don't know
we give tax already
i am just against toll

4:55 PM
@SwiftPushkar This is irritating in metros like Banglore and Chennai.

@AnkitSharma haha while passing we have seen toll booths inside Banglore city and wondered abt. how costly even to go frm one place to another in Banglore. Need not to say abt.other things :)

@TheDestroyer There's also the Paramatmika Upanishad, which almost no one knows about. I discuss it here:
2
Q: Has the Paramatmika Upanishad ever been translated into English?

Keshav SrinivasanAs I discuss in this answer, each of the four Vedas each of the four Vedas consists of four portions: Samhitas, the core part of the Vedas which consist of mantras heard from the gods; Brahmanas, which provide instructions on the proper conducting of important rituals; Aranyakas, which provide a ...

@TheDestroyer Brahmanas don't have mantras, they only have shlokas. (Except for the Krishna Yajur Veda, where everything is mixed up.)
@Pandya Ramanujacharya interprets it as referring to the Jivatma.

Hey all ,Will take your leave now , will sleep ,BYE GN , TC ... n Sleep well ..Very good Afternoon to @KeshavSrinivasan .. and very good rest of the day ...:)

@TheDestroyer The Aranyakas are also known as Rahasya Brahmanas. They deal with Yagnas that should be done in the middle of the forest with no other people around.
@SwiftPushkar Good day for me, good night for you :-)

@KeshavSrinivasan Is my understanding correct that, Shukla is mixed up because of Vomiting?

5:07 PM
@Tezz The Kena Upanishad is found in the Jaiminiya Upanishad Brahmana, aka the Talavakara Upanishad Brahmana, which despite its name is an Aranyaka of the Sama Veda.

@KeshavSrinivasan How can Ekayana Shakha be lost when Vishnavas revere and follow it?

@KeshavSrinivasan haha ... i was expecting your this dialogue as usual ... BYE :)

@KeshavSrinivasan can i read Brahmana and Aranyaka Slokas out?

5:19 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan @Tezz Swami Nithyananda says a Veda Samhita called Shiva Samhita is source of Shiava Agamas. See that video. But Shiva Samhita is also a book of Hatha Yoga. I am not sure if there are two Shiva Samhitas.

@SwiftPushkar travelling is not cheap here. I use cabs only

@TheDestroyer No, there's no Vedic Samhita called the Shiva Samhita.

@KeshavSrinivasan Nithyananda claims that. I think Shaiva Agamas and Shakta Agamas must have their claims of Vedic origin?

5:41 PM
@TheDestroyer I posted a question about that here:
4
Q: Do any non-Vaishnava Agamas trace their origins to a Vedic Shakha?

Keshav SrinivasanAs I discuss in this answer, Hindu scripture is made up of two categories, Shruti or that which is heard from the gods, and Smriti or that which is composed by humans authors and passed down from teacher to student via oral tradition. It's well-known that Smriti encompasses many different catego...

@TheDestroyer It's the Krishna Yajur Veda that's mixed up, but yes, the Krishna Yajur Veda was vomited by Yagnavalkya, and then Yagnavalkya received the Shukla Yajur Veda from Surya, as I discuss here:
2
A: Stories Of Yagnavalkya Rishi (याज्ञवल्क्य ऋषि)

Keshav SrinivasanThe story of Yagnavalkya giving back his knowledge is described in this chapter of the Vishnu Purana. As I discuss in this answer, after Vyasa compiled the mantras of the Vedas into the four books that we call the Vedic Samhitas, he taught the Vedas to various disciples, who each started their o...

@TheDestroyer I'm not sure about that.
@TheDestroyer Well, Vishnu's incarnation sage Narayana, knowing that the Ekayana Shakha of the Shukla Yajur Veda would be lost one day, revealed the Pancharatra Agamas to preserve the knowledge found in the Ekayana Shakha. But yes, pretty much all Vaishnavas other than the Vaikhanasas follow the Pancharatra Agamas, so indirectly they're following the Ekayana Shakha.
@TheDestroyer By the way, I belong to the Apastamba Shakha of the Krishna Yajur Veda, which is also lost.
@TheDestroyer The users @SreeCharan and @Surya also belong to the Apastamba Shakha.
@TheDestroyer The Apastamba Shakha only has its Sutra texts intact, along with a text called the Apastamba Mantra Prashna, which is not the original Samhita of the Apastamba Shakha, but rather a complication of mantras that are referenced in the Sutra texts.
