My build goal is a multipurpose high-performance PC that excels at workloads ranging from everyday Web browsing and productivity to photo editing and demanding AAA gaming at resolutions up to 1440p with high frame rates.
Pretty much every fan I've known gets to "clearly audible" at about 1000 RPM, "pretty noisy" at about 1500 and "Sounds like a jet engine" at about 2000 RPM
My main case fan goes to about 2000-2500 IIRC and is definitely in the "Sounds like a jet engine" range, although it also probably pushes as much air as one...
I think I went way overboard with the fan in this PC... 130CFM is a lot of air, for a 0.4 CF case. It's usually running at 30% or less and never had to go above 40%
I am a victim of of my human rights..These developers coded everything around me..I have proof of being lied on and malware now..I have a family and with the major SCOOP that is in my house at this moment MY NAME IS SABRINA NICOLE FRANCIS 10/17/1985 THIS NON PROFIT PPL USED A PAPER THAT WAS ON A ...
@ZachHauk on the client or the server? have you checked the logs? what OS are you using for the client and the server? if you're using Linux on the server, check both the PAM access logs and the OpenSSH access and error logs
@hyperj123 HTML5 local storage isn't equivalent to arbitrary access to the host filesystem; there is no web application that can access any arbitrary files on the host filesystem.
that would be a tremendous security breach if it were possible
it can create/read/update/delete entries in what is usually stored as a local sqlite database in a specific file whose location and path can't be changed by the application, and it can't read/write to other websites/domains' HTML5 storage
@allquixotic I realize that would be a big security issue but it's nothing more than what happens on android when you get the prompt "This app wants to access local storage" you know?
I got called up for a training/placement opportunity with BB as a sysadmin
but its been delayed allegedly cause BB hasn't gotten back in touch
The place doing the placement... well I don't trust my contact person so I keep emailing him CCing his boss, and he has another possible gig, this time with someone calling me up for an interview next week
You also get better answers with a good question. Just using 'command line' rather than 'ps for cmd.exe' is similar silly helps. (you did that one right, so already one up)
Ugh. Headache. Lower lips which is peeling. Cold....
And dressed up to the nines (cat hair free clothes, tie, polished shoes, stinky stuff known as after shave...)
I got to test the new Intel 7260 card at my parents place. Link speed 866. Nice (backed by powerline2 and dog slow internet. About 25KB/sec upload due the ISP)
I'm not surprised they're looking into an architectural rewrite, but I just glossed over the rest of the details because they just weren't reliable.
Am I hurting my reputation by linking to unreliable sources repeated and showing gullibility?
If I have deceived anyone here... I am deeply sorry. I will make sure to read with a skeptical mind, no matter how trusted the source may be, and will take steps to avoid referring to unreliable content.
I am very, very sorry to everyone here.
@Bob, have you looked into kick-muting me for posting crappy links?
@bwDraco I think it's better to look at what a better news source could do when writing an article along the same subject lines as the Fudzilla article you linked... For starters, when they're bashing Apple's "gate" issues with various users having issues, they should compare problems Apple has had to, at least, its closest smartphone hardware competitors.
for fuck sake, why is WCCFtech site always writing crap? http://wccftech.com/frequency-malwares-macs-reached-time-high/
I'm making myself very hard to believe by posting to lots of dubious content lately. This practice will come to an end as I will be vetting the links I post and making sure the content isn't just speculation.
@Bob, any ideas on the next steps to take with this issue?
for all the inaccuracy of wccftech, there's usually a kernel of truth in there somewhere related to the big idea
I'd be inclined to believe they're planning a major arch rewrite for 2020, considering how many years it's been since they've done one, and the general benefits of doing so
but the details of the article are probably conjecture
In all honesty, my repeatedly linking to WCCFtech as if it were reliable is inexcusable. It's not much different than intentional deception and might warrant a kick-mute or even a chat suspension because it's actively harmful to the community.
I think everyone here is well aware of the clickbait-ness and general unreliability of wccftech, and we tend to just read it as "entertainment" more than news
there's a certain degree of accuracy in the tautological conjecture that "things tend to get more advanced over time" and "newer, higher-tech, more advantageous developments and features will eventually get integrated into new products"
but wccf translates those general principles into "the next awesome features ARE coming to the next product release!!!!!111oneoneone"
which is entertaining to think about, but often quite optimistic due to the realities of actually putting a product to market
A review of my chat history points to systemic issues reading online content, including failure to pay close attention to the entire content and failure to read skeptically or question the content. This will be addressed ASAP.
@allquixotic I'm more annoyed at how they (or their sources) seem to get facts about current hardware wrong. Makes it kinda hard to believe their speculation.
@bwDraco Eh. I just tend to attach some kind of "rumor says" to it, e.g. chat.stackexchange.com/…
And, eh. Don't take me trying to pull apart a linked article too seriously.
