I've replaced my phone-based wing-mirror with some sort of mandibled insect. Can you see it?

What's a phone-based wing-mirror?
Mirror shaped like a wing constructed from a phone?
or perhaps a mirror on a wing

@Emigna Not a wing mirror... That mirror that hangs on the top of a car that lets you see out of the back hole.

@wizzwizz4 Ah, that makes more sense :)

@wizzwizz4 Wasn't one time bad enough?

@Dennis How does "bad" apply to this wonderful masterpiece?

10:30 AM
...

What is it supposed to be?

@Emigna Dennis the Crusader.

so, a helm?

It's hard to see the meaning when you're dazzled by its sheer beauty.

Someone spent a lot of effort making it, I can tell

10:32 AM
The colours of the helmet, each shade reflects true amazingness.

Let us star this beautiful image, so that all may witness it.

Or not, and keep this masterpiece to ourselves

...

The more people that experience it the less special it becomes
like finding a great new band
It's cool until everyone listens to them
That sun mask is a lot cooler than the moon...

I made a truth machine in Pyramid yay

Also I got the moon hat thing

10:38 AM
@wizzwizz4 Running the image in my steganography decoder (one that I created for a golf) gave me this hidden code: basicallyÌ repeated tons of times

@KritixiLithos Wow... Perhaps that's why it looks so... perfect.
Or maybe that's just one part of it.

Using different colours while still maintaining the constant style and message; I can only say that great skill was put into making the masterpiece.

Effective immediately after caching, the five most commonly used TIO v1 subdomains (05ab1e.tryitonline.net, v.tryitonline.net, jelly.tryitonline.net, matl.tryitonline.net, retina.tryitonline.net) will redirect to TIO Nexus. 3 rep caps already?

@Dennis Retina link doesn't work for me :/

@Dennis I can't connect to any of them.

@Dennis ... :S

10:45 AM
Does anyone else have the secret moon hat?

o/

I have some secret het
but it doesn't really look like a moon

@Dennis How do you get the secret moon hat

If you have the sun hat, you don't. I think.

@Qwerp-Derp That's a secret

10:45 AM
Only 05ab1e loads the TIO Nexus version for me

Oh yeah

@JarkoDubbeldam But I have the secret moon hat

I think it might be a sun yes

@Qwerp-Derp the moon was for logging in when it's december 21 somewhere in the world

Wait so is it a sun vs moon thing?

10:46 AM
@KritixiLithos Yes, your browser, operating system and/or ISP cache DNS queries.

sun vs moon was a hemisphere thing someone said

Should I upload my interpreter to Github?
For Pyramid that is

Erik has the Sun one but isn't he in Greece?

Also @Dennis can you upload Pyramid to TIO when I finish uploading it to GH?

@Emigna Well thats easy to find out. Sun -> north here

10:47 AM
@betseg For all I know Erik is in Japan (with his Japanese characters)

That's northern as well right?
Definitely

@Qwerp-Derp Sure.

But with it being winter in the northern hemisphere a sun doesn't really make sense

@JarkoDubbeldam OK, so not that then, as I got the moon and am a northerner

@Dennis How did you get 3 rep caps from the start of Winter Bash already? (and it's only the 3rd day of WB)

10:48 AM
easy
cap each day

^

That looks greeky

The hemisphere idea was already debunked.

I only got one rep cap because I was lucky.

10:49 AM
Maybe whether you're more active during day than night?

I'm pretty sure I'm more active day-time

It's random then

Hmm idk
I remember when I got my hat. It was right after i posted an answer

The hat is both a moon and a sun until you get the hatKritixi Lithos 18 hours ago
You get the hat once you have participated in the site (answer, ask or vote) I think

@Qwerp-Derp ^^

Is there a mod in here right now?

@Qwerp-Derp If that's Python 2, don't use input(), use ast.literal_eval or something if you have to

Screw it, my name is now Qwerp-derp.

my trophy!

If the input should be an int, then yes
(alternatively, use Python 3 :P)

@Sp3000 Anything else?

are you ignoring my completion of CMC?

@DestructibleWatermelon You already have a trophy
I found a guy called "Doorhandle" that chatted on PPCG for one day
I think he might be a spy who's impersonating Doorknob
Maybe he's from... Code Review.
dum dum duuuuuuum

11:25 AM
:O

Apparently the person who chatted the most was QPaysTaxes
Who's that?

not sure, but at least he seems to pay his taxes

@Qwerp-Derp Actually, that user seems to have 489 rep on PPCG and 118 rep on CR. Suspicion arose.

maybe is sock

11:31 AM
nvm you are talking about Doorhandle

Who the heck is Doorhandle

Maybe we need more door accounts
Doorstop
Doorshop
Real Fake Doors

The last two are spammy.

I need a number near the magnitude of 1000 to 10000

11:37 AM
1337

something other than that, probably round

Would this answer count as a duplicate: codegolf.stackexchange.com/a/104035/41805?

@DestructibleWatermelon 1024

@KritixiLithos No, it's in another language.

11:41 AM
But the general idea is the the same

That's called porting, not a dupe anyways. Maybe add a note on the post that they have ported the original answer to another language.

I've added a comment

And you have been replied to that comment.

But it still is too close to being a duplicate, it is the same code
At least most of it (the important part) is the same

I have something to tell about DoorHandle (user63637). Can I, please?

11:51 AM
Probably not...
@ErikGolferエリックゴルファー This DoorHandle?

How does DoorHandle all of a sudden have 1 rep?

Yes, the one who apparently secretly faked their name. And I dunno who they're working for. I think it's the same DoorHandle, judging by the avatar, so it must be either a sock or just needs to be migrated.

Oh
Not the same user

Yeah, probably a sock. I think that, judging by the rep on SO, the new account was not accidental at all.

@TuxCopter That's the same guy who is in this chatroom now

11:57 AM
Another thing: Their about me section reads I'm not a doorknob. Is that an insult to our very own Doorknob? (Hint: DoorhandleDoorHandle.)

@user63637 Why are you here? :-O
&Why U called user63637?

Umm, I think that was too much.

Just realised, this question has more stars than downvotes: codegolf.stackexchange.com/q/60206/41805

@KritixiLithos Was that migrated to Programming Puzzles & Code Golf Meta or deleted outright?

Deleted

11:59 AM
@KritixiLithos Lol it also has an undelete vote!!

@KritixiLithos Who voted to undelete o_O

Apparently you only have something like 4 undelete votes in total

Someone abusing privileges to get a hat... (Dennis, have your trout ready.) Nothing, it was proved factually incorrent.
@KritixiLithos 5, and you get 1 for each 1000 rep you take, until you get to 30.

No, I did this before WB started

Wait, you voted to undelete?

12:01 PM
Before WB started (so not abusing privs)

Wow. That lol fr omg pointless undelete vote. Was it accidental?

Hmm I did see something in the reopen queue earlier
not sure if thats the same post because I can't see it anymore

Your review history can help.

Man, playing with socks is no fun when the join date gets reset

Who's your sock?

@Sp3000 It would have been an insult to me. Fortunately, I don't have any sock (or planning to make one). I might make a secondary account though (no vote cheating or anything).

wat
he has 101 rep but he's only on PPCG and got no upvotes

He surely has hidden communities.

Right

12:06 PM
@ErikGolferエリックゴルファー The one person who would be insulted by it already knew about it

How do you have hidden communities?

I think that CR is not one of the hidden communities though, couldn't find him there. But I found an exact copy of him there.

My yoda hat doubles up nicely as a Robin Hood hat, which is appropriate as I live in Nottingham :P

haha, I see the resemblance

@wizzwizz4 Flagged it as NAA.
Can't downvote (I joined Arqade just for the flag).

@zyabin101 :-) Two flags are better than one. (Wasn't sure if it was actually NAA, but if you're sure...)

Oh great I flagged as NAA too.

It's clearly not offensive, nor is it spam:

@zyabin101 It's completely wrong and looks like something out of Marky.

> Exists only to promote a product or a service, doesn't disclose the author's affiliation.

12:53 PM
Well, it's unclear if it's spam, so I didn't flag as spam.

This, honestly, looks like something created via random choices on a Markov chain. — wizzwizz4 43 secs ago

I find it weird how people constantly fall back to the "promotes a product or service" definition of spam in a few certain situations, when in general usage, it basically just means "pure noise".

@El'endiaStarman Trouble is, the flag says the former.
We chose NAA because it is noise, but it is technically spam too.

@TuxCopter @wizz XD

@wizzwizz4 Why not "rude or abusive", then?
> A reasonable person would find this content inappropriate for respectful discourse.

12:58 PM
It is silly, but isn't offensive to me.

@El'endiaStarman I don't think that has to do anything with irrespect at all.

Something a bit silly has turned into a reasonable and detailed discussion, and I'm learning something.
Thank you.

The meaning of "respectful" is more broad here. More synonymous with "constructive".
Also, imagine you're discussing some topic with friends over dinner at a restaurant, and some drunk guy staggers over and starts spouting nonsense. Wouldn't you say that's "rude"?

@El'endiaStarman To put it another way, saying (2 messages down):

1:03 PM
From the Arqade Tour: This site is all about getting answers. It's not a discussion forum. There's no chit-chat. That means that chit-chatting with your friends is probably different than SE's Q&A.

> The flags are respectful to spam a product or service definition of spam a product or service when anything at all
in the middle of this conversation would be rude.

I don't seem to be able to get you? Although this can be perfectly defined as "spam", it's just "noise" for SE.

@ErikGolferエリックゴルファー This is the sort of spam I meant. My manually-generated example wasn't as good.

Is anyone on?

I am, but since this affects me more than anyone else, I can hardly remain objective.

@Qwerp-Derp If there were no answers it might have been okay, but there is an answer which would be invalidated by that change
Might be a better idea to think of a new challenge with similar base, but different rules (and sandbox it)

I should revert back shouldn't I?

I'd say so yes

It was a really good point brought up by someone in the comments
Should have changed it earlier on when there were no answers
But no one mentioned it in the sandbox
I only had the one comment of "Is it even possible?" by Peter
(Peter Taylor)

2:09 PM
That would have made the challenge more challenging and interesting yes

So is it way too late to change it now?
Now that there's an actual competing answer?
@Dennis Why is your thing upvoted so much
It's really trivial TBH

Because the challenge is near-impossible

That's true
And there's a good explanation

@Dennis I know right?!?

@Dennis Oh, so you finally woke up? Yeah, from hours ago, I wanted a mod to 11 my name (as I had promised to El'endia Starman a few days ago). Could you 11 my PPCG name (not network-wide) to Erik the Outgolfer, please? (If it's applicable at all)

Yeah, I think that you should have slept a bit then.

I have no issues with removing the extra characters from your name, but changing it to something entirely different should wait until the 30 days are over.
Which is soon afaict.

2:25 PM
Oh, you can't, or don't want to change it? Well, I'll wait 2 more days then :P But Japanese characters should go anyways.

Yes, please remove Japanese characters (they were added before the ASCII-name trend). I'll change the rest in 2 days. of course don't change the rest by now if that's gonna make TNB noise, I've already had enough for 2016 for my ears.

I think I accidentally pre-golfed some code I just wrote. The first line is what I wrote first and then I wrote the second to see if it was shorter. Turns out to be longer by 4 bytes. (The golfable spaces in both lines are enforced by the linter.)

@El'endiaStarman 2.6? ... Not even 2.7? L-O

Oh you're right, it's actually 2.7.10. Nonetheless, can't add sets.
A few attempts have been made to migrate to Python 3, but apparently the code base is rather resistant to the change.
