It's got one of the most functional, well-paced, incredibly tight plots of the era, a number of captivating characters, no less than 4 instantly iconic songs and it marked a significant step forward when it comes to both the quality of animation and the way animated films were seen by not just general audiences but also the film industry at large.

It's the definitive movie from the Disney Renaissance era.

(And also I liked it as a kid)

@Walt Nope, gotta disagree there I'm afraid. A good musical uses songs to convey emotion and character better than any line of dialogue could, or to progress the plot, or even just to introduce a new character so well that we know who they are and what they are about immediately. Just like anything else in film-making, they're a tool - how well they are used depends on who is using them.

@AJ Shutter is a great movie! Fatal Attraction was so great because you can feel somewhat sorry for the "bunny boiler" we had to do a project in my psychology class in college where we had to find empathy in Alex Forrest character in Fatal Attraction and Annie Wilkes in Misery. It was really interesting what we allcame up with.

I feel bad for new users who get downvotes on their questions when they take the ime to make it perfectly acceptable ID. It just frustrates me that they get downvoted and VTC just because it's ID. It makes them not want to come back, so, I always try to leave them an encouraging comment.

@DForck42 Yeah, I understand that. But, there's also a first impression to consider. I wouldn't want to come back to a community where I spent a lot of time to contribute only to be criticized and to not have any explanation on why. One word of encouragement can work wonders. All that I'm saying is that I am glad that am not a new user around here right now, because I wouldn't have stuck around here if this was how it was back then.
